It’s a tricky weekend for Fantasy managers. The upcoming FA Cup Sixth Round almost gives us as much concern as the four league fixtures over Saturday and Sunday themselves, with seven teams in action before the gameweek resumes in midweek. While the likes of Spurs and Chelsea could be ready to rotate ahead, sides such as Sunderland and Everton will be keen to field stronger lineups, with David Moyes particularly determined to atone for the Mersyeside derby defeat at Liverpool last Tuesday evening:

Moyes was typically vague ahead of the weekend home tie against Sunderland this morning. While Steven Pienaar is cup-tied for the Toffees and Darron Gibson remains sidelined with a knee problem, the Everton boss revealed he has a couple of concerns though, as usual, refused to name names:

We picked up a couple of niggling injuries from the game in midweek. I’ll need to see if they’re going to be fit and available for the game. We’re not sure yet, but we’ll wait and see.

Tony Pulis yesterday confirmed Thomas Sorensen will be in goal for this Sunday’s FA Cup trip to Liverpool. With the Potters boss keeping one keeper for cup competitions and one for the league, it seems to underline the fact that Asmir Begovic has jumped ahead of the Dane in the pecking order for top-flight matches. Pulis spoke more on the situation, going on to concede:

The great thing about the last couple of weeks is that Asmir’s come into the team and played really well. He’d had a spell in the team just before he was left out where he looked a little bit tired, a bit jaded and made a few mistakes. But he’s come back in refreshed and looked the part, and he deserves to be playing in the league. Now Thomas gets his chance.

With three matches in the next seven days, Owen Coyle has admitted he’ll make a couple of changes for Bolton’s FA Cup clash with Spurs. The Trotters boss looks likely to prioritise the upcoming league clashes against Villa and Blackburn as he plots his side’s bid for survival and with the likes of Marvin Sordell cup tied and Chris Eagles struggling with a hamstring strain, Coyle looks set to utilise his squad for the clash against Harry Redknapp’s side this Saturday.

David Luiz has revealed he is struggling to overcome an ankle problem ahead of Chelsea’s FA Cup game against Leicester. The centre-half admitted he played through the pain barrier in Wednesday’s Champions League win over Napoli and with John Terry failing to finish the match, the pair could well be two of several changes Roberto Di Matteo makes this weekend, with Wednesday’s league game at City also in his thinking.

Ryan Taylor and Cheik Tiote are continuing to be assessed ahead of Newcastle’s match with Norwich on Sunday. The former missed last Monday’s trip to Arsenal due to a calf problem, while the Magpies midfield enforcer limped out of the Emirates clash holding his thigh, with Alan Pardew hopeful Tiote’s problem was no more than cramp.

Sir Alex Ferguson was quick to point out the importance of Sunday’s trip to Wolves in last night’s Europa League press conference. While magnanimous in defeat, with United beaten in both legs by Athletic Bilbao, Ferguson quickly turned his attentions to domestic duties, indicating his thoughts are firmly on establishing a four point lead over City this weekend:

Obviously we now have to make sure we win on Sunday against Wolverhampton Wanderers. We decided to take off Rio Ferdinand, Michael Carrick and, eventually, Ryan Giggs because we have to think about Sunday.

While the Mail and Mirror both suggest Wayne Rooney is nursing a knock, United’s official site published an article on the possible doubts for the Wolves game earlier this morning- Rooney was not mentioned, suggesting he’s on course to continue his remarkable run of goalscoring form this weekend.

In his early morning Friday press conference, Paul Lambert announced new boy Johnny Howson has recovered from illness and is available for Norwich this weekend. While Daniel Ayala and Marc Tierney both remain sidelined, the pair are expected to return to training next week. James Vaughan is still on the road to recovery.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Guys, really struggling to decide what to do with my team:-

    Krul, Mignolet
    Skrtel, Evans, Simpson, Kelly, Cahill
    Silva, Dempsey, Bale, McClean, Siggy
    Rooney, RVP, Ba

Got 2.2m in the bank, 1FT, thinking either :-

    a. Nothing save the FT
    b. Silva > Young
    c. Simpson > Jones
    d. Skrtel > Evra

Total FPL is great for an overview, and to dip a toe - FISO is fantastic but requires a bit of dedication to grasp the subtleties.

Totalfpl seems better earlier on, and then after a while FISO gets really accurate.

Agree that FISO is better for predicting rises, when the margins are tight

Hey mates! Is my team good to go for the week?

    Schwarzer
    Evans-BAE-McAuley-Skrtel
    Dempsey-Bale-Walcott
    Odemwingie-RVP-Rooney(C)

    Bench:Mignolet-Miyaichi-Sigurdsson-Caulker

I am starting four at the back because CS are back. And my defenders have very possible cleanies. I know Odemwingie is a doubt, but I'm hoping he does a "Stephen Kelly", Roy Hodgson does a "Martin Jol" if you like. πŸ˜‰
Rooney is my captain, caus SAF will start Rooney IMO, and then he'll destroy Wolves defense.
You can see that currently Miyaichi is first sub, but should I put Siggy as first sub instead?

I think with going out of Europe I have changed my mind on Man Utd midfielder.

Think they will all be rotated between themselves (assuming they are all fit).

Probably means that they will start on the bench for 2/3 games each out of the 10. Predicting when and where is going to be hard though.

Think that's why Valencia makes the most sense now as at his price, it's not the end of the world if he doesn't start and comes off the bench.

Whereas you'll be fuming at Young/Nani doing that.

I'm not sure but it's weird, because Fulham away have been terrible for years.

In the past few seasons they have been better, but before that their away record was horrendous.

    Folks,

In the middle of the dreaded WC team. Would appreciate people's views on the following

Are Drogba/Lampard/Gerrard nailed on for rest of season?
Is Bale essential for the rest of the season ?

    Cheers,

No and no. Chelsea still in CL and FA cup so there is bound to be some rotation. Bale isn't essential until he hits form again

I'd certainly consider one of Drogba or Lamps, as for Gerrard, I'd still steer clear for now, still gonna get rested, and may play deeper in some games, think there are better options than him. You don't really need Chelsea until Wigan at home though. My worry with them is rotation for CL.

    Krul (Bogdan)

    Bale McLean Dempsey Miyaichi (YaYa)

    Krul, Bogdan

    Rooney, RVP, Suarez
Got 2.8m in the bank and 1FT but no transfers are jumping out at me (apart from shipping Ferguson eventually).

Can't believe Fergie is still there.

Bale in 31 for sure, I'd wait until 32 for Drogba.

Fir this week you should be ok, but I think with Valencia in there you may only have 1sub available.

      I'd play

Krul, Enrique, Evans, Kelly, Silva, Dempsey, Valencia, McLean, Rooney (c), RvP, Suarez

      Bogdan, Simpson, Cahill, Ferguson.

Why do u think the current rank is that important? I don't want to be Tosey's advocate btw

He's no 1 in all the FPL games, and some others too.

Are there many people playing five at the back this gameweek?
I have doubled up on the liverpool defence (DGW hangover).
Then I have one man u, arsenal, and Sunderland player.

I think they might as well. But Sunderland have been excellent defensively its a 50/50 call.
I actually got Turner in for a free transfer this week, the logic was good bench player and good fixtures gw29-30 then gw 33 -37.

Sunderland and Arsenal are unlikely for CS this week imo. Doubling at Liverpool is a bit risky too. I like 3 at the back, 4 at most.
