With the Aston Villa and Bolton fixture understandably postponed, we’re at Ewood Park tonight as Gameweek 29 soldiers on. It’s relegation-threatened Blackburn at home to the recently relentless Sunderland. Fantasy managers are likely to have modest interest – with Yakubu and James McClean the most likely hopefuls on show. Nevertheless, our Dugout Discussion chatroom has opened up to catch your reactions as the match progresses.

Blackburn XI: Robinson, Lowe, Dann, Hanley, Martin Olsson, Nzonzi, Pedersen, Formica, Hoilett, Marcus Olsson, Yakubu.

Sunderland XI: Mignolet, Bardsley, Kyrgiakos, Turner, Bridge, Larsson, Gardner, Vaughan, McClean, Bendtner, Campbell.

The team news finds Kean resisting the temptation to tinker, despite the availability of David Dunn, Gael Givet and Bradley Orr. It’s an unchanged lineup from the one that saw off Wolves at Molineux last time out then.

As for the visitors, they’re without skipper John O’Shea, presumably through injury or illness, so Sotirios Kyrgiakos comes into the back four for his Black Cats debut. Elsewhere, Martin O’Neill brings in David Vaughan for Jack Colback.

The Dugout Discussion chatroom is open and can be accessed right here.

Dont get all this Tevez coming back stuff. When he was fit and in the good books with Mancini he wasnt starting or scoring. With Aguero, Ballotelli and Dzeko in front of him is he really going to get much game time?

Mancini bought Aguero to replace Tevez who he wanted to sell. That didn't happen. Aguero is failing so I reckon Tevez will get game time as Mancini is not stupid.

It was for both really. Is he really going to make a difference to FPL teams as he wasnt getting any game time before and in real life he wasnt scoring before, now hes hardly played all season is he really going to make a difference now? I dont think so.

Cometh the time, cometh the man and all that bollox. Mancini has to change his tireds side, imho. It's no big deal, just what I think will happen. The utterings in the press point to a Tevez come back. It means sfa to me as I'm out of Citeh's attack, just about.

In essence I agree with you. I think Tevez will play. I just think it's ludicrous to say Aguero is failing. He has been immense this season, really hit the ground running - even if that hasn't translated completely to fantasy football.

I'm not being funny but you are talking about a real life situation (will Mancini play Tevez) that affects fantasy football.

Then using his fantasy football stats to back up a reason why Mancini won't start him.

There are fantasy football decisions that have no impact on real life decisions, there are real life decisions that have an impact on fantasy football. I'll say it again - I think you have them confused.

Yeah either way will work just fine. There's not much price difference between Hart/Bogdan and Krul/Vorm.

Best thing to do is to work out which way is cheaper for you, because it all depends on your other defenders too, as most people don't want to double up.

I had Hart instead of Kompany and he served me well. I got rid for the DGW but will be getting him back for the run in.

Yeah tbh at this point I'd ratehr have Hart but I got Vorm for 4, and Krul for 4.5 - so I'd need to take them both out to get value out of Hart - not anywhere near worth it. I can see the value if you have a different combination though.

Team at the moment for GW30 (1 free transfer, 3.0m in the bank):

    Vorm(EVE)
    Evans(FUL) Simpson(wba) Enrique(WIG)
    McClean(QPR) Valencia(FUL) Bale(che) Pilkington(WOL)
    Rooney(FUL) Suarez(WIG) RVP(AVL)

subs - Krul, Dempsey, Taiwo, Kelly

You reckon i can get away with this? Would quite like 2 free next week to sort out my defence but can my team cope!? Some potential moves:
    A. Pilkington > Sigurdsson
    B. Taiwo > Vermaelen
    C. Taiwo > Skrtel
    D. Pilkington & Taiwo > Sigurdsson & Vermaelen/Skrtel (4 point hit)

I literally can't wait for tomoro nights matches. I've been watching football for 30 years and this FPL nonsense (only playing it 3rd season) has brought my addiction to a new level.
The wifey and 3 small kids have moved to the mother-in-law for 2 weeks while we get an extension built. There's dust and rubble everywhere. There is no kitchen to speak of atm, so am living off take-away. The fridge is empty apart from beer and white wine.
The lads are here Friday night for poker.
There are no nappies to be seen and all toys are put away in plastic storage boxes.

....I am seriously happy right now.......just thought I'd share with my lovely internet friends 😉

Yeah Surman to Siggy is probably the first move I'd make.
I'm not sure I'd get rid of Dempsey until at least GW32 after he's played Norwich. I can see a big haul for him there.

You're pretty set for this week, I would keep the transfer to have the option of 2 next week. I would just bench Kelly Simpson and Moses. Only problem is Dempsey is poor away from home and at united, but I would still save the transfer.

I used to play a few different ff sites each season but this ones the only one I ever regularly checked. Not sure why that is, maybe the points scoring system is the most interesting/logical but it's always been the one I check. The others always became boring, even if i was doing well they just seemed to have too many variables in point scoring. Now it's the only ff I play 🙂

Yeah it's a bit unfair to players who have a good game but aren't in the assists/goals. Eg Rooney was man of the match this week but no baps. Also harsh on defensive midfielders, no matter how good a game they have they are never worth having in this ff comp.

    Mig Vorm
    JEvans Evra Walker Cahill Shotton
    Bale Dempsey Silva Siggy Mcclean
    RVP Roon Ba

Thinking of getting my WC out and changing 5/6 to

    HART Vorm
    JEvans CAULKER Walker MCAULEY Shotton
    Bale Dempsey VALENCIA Siggy WALCOTT
    RVP Roon Balotelli

    Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Yeah thought about that. Mcauley got the nod, because although they play each other next its at the hawthorns and then the next two i think the baggies have a better chance at cleanies.

wba LIV swa VS NEW eve BLA

Shotton's next few are worse but he'll be gracing the bench and is in only because he is 4m. This team leaves me 0 in the bank.

Yeah there's too many options in that price bracket, can get a good differential like Walcott, gerrard, even lampard. He needs to start getting points. The plus with silva is if he gets any assists he almost always gets baps as well, as his ppi is always good. Here's hoping to a goal and assist tomorrow 😉

Amongst the top players there are tons who have shipped him. A lot of that 40 % are ctive teams. There are still loads with him, sure, but the amount of top people shipping him out is quite high, enough to help you boost quite a lot if he scores well.

Yeah he's been super frustrating but his fixtures are so tempting towards the end of season (including a dgw). Unles vdv comes good again I don't know who else I'd go for in tottenham attack to add to bale, so almost certainly will punt on ade for the closing games.

I would rather double on Spurs defence for DGW than get Ade in. I know Ade will end in tears for me.

That's maybe the better option actually, they did return 2 clean sheets in the last dgw and I could easily see it happening again considering the opposition this time around. It's just always tempting to think if an attacker has 2 good games you're pretty much set. But whether ade can deliver 2 games in a row is questionable..

The reason i dont have Jevans in (B) is because if i have both Valencia & Young then i can start them both and if one doesnt play then Siggy will come on, and if they both play then great!

    So which one guys?

      I like A more.

Arsenal and Man U look good at the min and with Young still a rotation risk, Walcott as an everpresent is surely the more secure option. Also dropping evans for simpson is not the wisest move..

Didn't see the game tonight..but are Sunderland becoming a worry? MON Honeymoon over?
The reason I'm asking ; am replacing Sorensen this week and my first choice was/ is Mignolet (to rotate with Schwarzer).
So..Mignolet?....other options Bogdan (dgws in mind), Begovic or...Reina/ Friedal (can manage this with a Silva/ Demp to Valencia to free up cash).

    Lovely, thanks..

The thing is, it will either be rescheduled mid week - no blank, or a DGW in the coming weeks after it.

Add to that the fixtures around it are juicy, it's a good idea to carry them through 34 anyway.

No don't think so but you can go on the mobile version of the site using the browser.

A good app worth getting is called ESPN Goals, shows all the goals from prem games right after the matches have finished. And it's free 🙂

    Thoughts on this cunning plan?

GW31: Skrtel & Suarez -> BAE & Aguero/Balo (gets some MCY and TOT coverage and removes doubling on LIV. Will see who plays for MCY tonight and next week before deciding on Aguero Vs Balo)

GW32: Dempsey -> Mata (1 week punt as Mata has WIG at home)

GW33: Mata -> Bale (Great fixtures from here on in)

    Migs, Bogdan
    JEvans, Skrtel, Enrique, Caulker, Shotton
    Valencia, Dempsey, Walcott, Siggy, Surman
    RVP, Rooney, Suarez

    Bank 2.5m, 1 freebie left for GW30

Yeah I think it sounds good. I'm not a fan of "one week punts" though. You're better of doing demps --> Bale and saving that transfer. You may have to use it somewhere else..

1 week punts are too risky IMO, because you never know if another player gets injured or others hit form that you might want to get. I have pilkington rotting in my team because of this, I took a one week punt on him and now have to use a hit to get him out. And to make it worse he was benched that match and came on for a 1 pointer haha

why BAE when you can get kaboul :/ personally i'm of the opinion that 9mil -ish can be better invested outside of dempsey, and now, not later. also one-week-punts are the devil's work. you need crazy luck for that to succeed. as the fella below said; demp-bale saves you a transfer now and probably a bunch of heartbreak in the future. also walcott over demp til season's end by a bunch

Yeah Kaboul is a good shout too, but he had a small rotation risk with King & Gallas competing for CB slots. Also BAE has more attacking potential imo. Whether he is worth the 0.8m more is up for debate though I admit....

Best defender for 6.6m or less to bring in from GW31 onwards?

    a) Kompany
