There’s nothing like a double gameweek to whet the appetite. This morning has brought confirmation of FOUR as the Premier League begins to whip the fixture list back into shape.

Liverpool were first to alert us. The Anfield club have this morning confirmed their home fixture with Fulham, originally due to take place in Gameweek 34, will now occur on May 1, affording both clubs a double gameweek 36 and, subsequently, a blank Gameweek 34.

It’s something of a surprise, with many expecting the fixture to simply be moved into the midweek slot for Gameweek 34 but, nevertheless, it now adds an intriguing twist to the end of the season and give Fantasy managers plenty to mull over.

Liverpool will now face (nor, FUL), while Martin Jol’s side have (eve, liv) on the agenda. While many will look to grab Anfield assets, with the likes of Steven Gerrard and Luis Suarez both producing the goods in the Reds’ previous double gameweek, Fulham’s prospects look comparatively bleak.

With just eight goals on the road this season, the Cottagers travel to two of the four tightest defences in the Premier League – hardly the most enticing of schedules for us to take advantage of. It leaves owners of Clint Dempsey in something of a quandary, then – Fulham have (CHE, blank, WIG, eve & liv) between Gameweeks 33-36. The home clash with Wigan in Gameweek 35 stands out but, with a derby against Chelsea and blank gameweek prior to the Latics clash, then the trips to Everton and Liverpool, there are plenty tactical decisions to be made as we plot to get the most out of our squads over the final hectic month.

Aston Villa were next to issue an update. The club’s official website have announced their game at home to Bolton, originally scheduled for Gameweek 32 but cancelled due to Fabrice Muamba’s collapse at Tottenham in the FA Cup, will now take place on Tuesday April 24, giving both clubs a double Gameweek 35.

Alex McLeish’s side now have back-to-back home matches (SUN, BOL) on their agenda, while the Trotters can look forward to (SWA, avl) in their bid to beat the drop. Right now, Bolton have a blank gameweek preceding this, with their home match against Spurs yet to be rescheduled, while Villa travel to Old Trafford prior to their couple of home fixtures.

Bolton have now confirmed their home match with Tottenham will be scheduled for Wednesday May 2, meaning both sides have a double Gameweek 36. Incredibly, this gives Owen Coyle’s side back-to-back double Gameweeks, with (sun, TOT) this time round, while Spurs face (BLA, bol), with plenty investment sure to come the London outfit’s way.

The likes of Ryo Miyaichi will surely see investment for the Trotters, while Gareth Bale, Benoit Assou-Ekotto and Emmanuel Adebayor will be drafted in by many a Fantasy manager with such favourable fixtures for Harry Redknapp’s side.

Chelsea have also got in on the act. The Stamford Bridge outfit have rescheduled their home clash with Newcastle for Wednesday May 2,affording both clubs a double gameweek 36. With two home clashes, Chelsea (QPR, NEW) look primed for investment, with Juan Mata likely to lead the charge, while the Magpies have (wig, che) to consider, for the likes of Papiss Cisse and Demba Ba.

There is now one outstanding fixture as, of yet, unscheduled from Gameweek 34, then. As we explained in yesterday’s article, the remaining game is:

  • Stoke vs Everton

We’ll bring you more as we get it.

I'm a little stuck, I was thinking Walcott in this week, but then VDV came to mind and now I cant get any sleep.

I know Walcott is the sensible option(??) with form but VDV the last few looks like he is ready to break into a goalscoring run.

Already have Bale and RVP, but that's it.

    Any opinions much appreciated!

Hopefully GW34 could be the clincher for me. Very possible I could have 11 players to my leader's 7. I'm 40 behind now, could easily be leading post 34.

That means all I need to do is cancel out his many many DGW players...

Oh I hate having this kind of decision. GW36 Mignolet: Bolton(H) Schwarzer: Everton(A), Liverpool(A).

Guaranteed 4 points versus greater chance of a clean sheet. No doubt I'll choose the wrong one.

Turns out with careful planning (this took me a good 45 minutes), I can have 10 players for GW34 and 8 DGW36 players with a single 4 point hit.

If we factor in that Stoke vs Everton could be played in GW34 (I have no clue). Then I'd have 11 players for GW34 and 8 DGW36 players for no hit!

HOWEVER, it's me so it was probably a great big waste of time 🙄

So what would be the ideal team for GW36 (but allowing for remaining fixtures)?

    Current thinking (ignoring keepers)

    BAE/Baines/Simpson/Skittle/Kelly
    Bale/Mata/Miyaichi/BenArfa/Dempsey
    Adebayor/Cisse/Pog

As it stands I'm looking here at all the remaining games finishing up in GW36 but think I would prefer just 2 or 3 to allow a better differential over that have to manage GW34 and GW36 without the wildcard.

Tottenham 3 is no-brainer while Bolton offer cheap rotation assets for the DGW.
Yet to be convinced that Liverpool or Fulham fixtures offer enough for me to be tempted by more than one of their players.

      Tevez probably.

DGW so close to the end is quite a spanner in the works. You could potentially just go all out with the DGWers... Its what Ill be doing!!

So here’s my plan atm, changed a bit
GW 31: Drogba and Skrtel > Cisse and Verm for a 4 pt hit ( already done)
    GW 32:Demps>Bale
    GW 33:Save
    GW 34:Surman>McClean
    GW 35:McAuley>Ream
    GW 36: Verm>Terry and Walcott> Lampard/VDV

    looking good? 🙂

Will give me this team for GW 36:

    Mignolet(BOL)
    Caulker(WOL)-BAE(BLA,bol)-Terry(QPR,NEW)
    Bale(BLA,bol)-Lampard*(QPR,NEW)-Siggy(WOL)-McClean(BOL)
    Rooney(mci)-RVP(sto)-Cisse(wig,che)

*Lampard, can put VDV instead of him in, if VDV is fully fit.

VDV is never fully fit. he is always straddling the line between completely crocked and crocked but can still play

          Lol.

If I were you I wouldnt make such a long term plan. They are always changed when someone becomes a "must have", or gets injured.

I think you should keep Dempsey for the game against Bolton, though I can see that Bale is a good player to have (I have both).

FWIW I think your transfer will pay off this week.

I think the one to have in GW36 is Lampard - thats what I will be doing.

C'mon, TheSteady, even if you've only changed one line here, it's still essentially the same post. You know that as well as the rest of us.

If you're going to keep posting the same thing over and over on each page until GW36, it's going to make this place pretty unbearable for the next month or so. People have asked you before to refrain from incessant reposting - could you please do so?

Members can rank weeks according to difficulty, drag weeks next to another (i.e. 31 next to 34 and 36) etc... Possibly the handiest tool on the site!

I was very happy when I found that picture I'll admit!

So far barring injuries or bans I have 10 for GW34 which I will stick with. 2DGWers planned for GW35 and try to build for 6 DGWers in 36 whilst not doing too much damage for 37 and 38.

I see it as steady if unspectacular.

Or I might go bonkers and take huge hits for the last three weeks.

    Which would you gentlemen do?

Right I'm off......this afternoon is far too much stimulation for even me the professor of the time space continuum. I am going to recalibrate the DeLorean, swipe me some Plutonium from the Libyans, ensure the flux capacitor is....er....fluxing and travel into the future to find out who will score big in gw 33 onwards!
