Sergio Aguero looks set to miss Manchester City’s game against Sunderland with an already infamous “stupid” injury.

Vincent Kompany should return for City, though Joleon Lescott is expected to remain sidelined. Rio Ferdinand is available for United, who will be without Nani for the trip to Blackburn. Branislav Ivanovic is back in the fold for Roberto Di Matteo as Chelsea take on Aston Villa, but Raul Meireles could well miss out with a knee injury.

Jack Rodwell, Seamus Coleman and Royston Drenthe all look set to miss Everton’s game with against West Brom, whilst Arsene Wenger is “90% confident” that Laurent Koscielny will be available for Arsenal’s clash with QPR.

Aston Villa have this afternoon confirmed the sad and shocking news that Stiliyan Petrov has been diagnosed with acute leukaemia. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Villa skipper at a time like this…

Yeah, I'm just wary that at the moment I only have 7 on the pitch for GW34. I have 4FT's between now and then, so could use them to get 11 out without needing a hit. Would definitely want Baines for a doubler if it arrived though. Hmm.

That Wigan 3-2-3-2 formation looks dynamic. There season could pick up from now to the end. Yet another PL survival?

Also Lennon back for Spurs is great news for them. Much more balanced with him in the side. Walker and Lennon could cause Naylor all kinds of problems.

I agree. When Lennon is out it's all on Bale to make it happen and he can be doubled up on and marked tightly. When both flanks are flying they cause teams so many problems and there is more space opening up for the play to be switched.

What about captaining Walcott ? He might sneak in with a goal and couple of assists.

    2+3+3+5+1=14x2=28 WOW! I'll take that

Not as good as RVP scoring 3 goals and 2 assists

      (2 + 4 + 4 + 4 + 3 + 3) x 2 = 40

      Suggest RVP as captain....

Just had a look at the weekend odds..

RVP is 3/1 to score 2 or more & 10/1 to score a hattrick

Rooney is 13/5 to score 2 or more & 17/2 to score a hattrick..

With this in mind and also the fact that Rooney is still a differential for me I think i'll leave the armband on him..

I am in the same position. I have three options for cap. Rooney, RVP, Demps.

I am thinking Rooney is the best bet...although Demps could be a high risk / high reward option.

They are both good options playing against dodgy defences.

great timing - posted right as a new post appears

EUROPA League Final Group Matches – Preview

    Group I

A poster book for the phrase looks can be deceiving. The group originally christened ‘Animal Farm’ appears, at first glance be very open, with 2 sides on 9 points and 2 on 6. The reality, however, is very different. Group leader Rebeldogg’s impressive GD, mostly garnered in matchday 2′s drubbing on this weekend’s opponent Mull, coupled with Mull’s H2H record vs JK makes these 2 overwhelming favourites whilst JK and Dudu can do nothing except try and win their match-up by as big a score as possible.

Atheltico Madrid (JK) vs Rennes (Dudu) In what may end up being a battle simply to avoid the wooden spoon JK and Dudu square off as they both look to sign off with a win. Dudu starts the stronger with a heavy win over Mull following a win over Rebeldogg. JK has gone in the opposite direction, with 2 wins being followed by 3 narrow defeats that leave the early favourite with it all to do. JK hasn’t helped himself with a 4 point hit that has wiped out his home advantage. He will be hoping though that bringing in the Verminator and Walcott for Young and Taiwo will help him on. For Dudu, well I wish I could tell you but I suspect that at least one of the QPR pair of Zamora and Taiwo has departed, although with Caulker unavailable and Glen Johnson doubtful, Taiwo may have been reprieved.

    Predicted Line-Ups

Athletico – Schwarzer, Evans, Skrtel, Verm, Siggy, Bale, Walcott, Dempsey, Rooney, RvP, Yak

Rennes – Hart, Evans, Sagna, Johnson, Bale, Valencia, Barfa, Walcott, Rooney, Yak, Cisse

Key Battle – Verm v Sagna, Dempsey v Barfa and RvP v Cisse/Zamora will decide this one I feel, though Dudu’s Joe Hart may be his ace in the hole.

Prediction – Dudu to forfeit and JK to be awarded an automatic 100 point victory 😉 I wish. Home Win

Udinese (Mull) v Celtic (Rebeldogg) Mull will no doubt be out for revenge after the humiliation he suffered at the hands of group leader Rebeldogg back in matchday 2. The maths here is simple, winner wins the group, a draw will do for Rebeldogg, even a loss may be enough given the size of his victory in the first meeting. For Udinese I anticipate the departure of Demba Ba to Jelavic. For Celtic no changes look on the card, although if one has been made I expect Skrtel or Senderos to have departed.

    Predicted Line-Ups

Udinese – Reina, Evans, Kelly, Skrtel, Valencia, Bale, Siggy, Dempsey, Rooney, RvP, Jelavic

Celtic – Krul, Verm, Kelly, Evans, Valencia, Siggy, Bale, Dempsey, Rooney, RvP, Suarez

Key Battle – Virtually the same teams here, Celtic may even start Skrtel. It is a straight shootout between Suarez and Jelavic. Of course Krul v Reina could be crucial, and Rebeldogg may hope for a Krul penalty save from someone other than Suarez.

Verdict – Narrow home win, but both sides to go through, leaving yours truly embarrassed an out, despite never being thrashed (unlike every other member of this group)
