The Dugout Discussion opens today for two Premier League games involving some of it’s most enjoyable teams to watch. Third-place chasing Spurs take on the exciting Swansea City after Newcastle host Liverpool, with the former fighting for European football.

The team news from the game at The Sports Direct Arena is in, and the sides line-up as follows…

Newcastle XI: Krul, Simpson, Williamson, Perch, Gutierrez, Guthrie, Tiote, Cabaye, Ben Arfa, Cisse, Ba.

Liverpool XI: Reina, Flanagan, Carragher, Skrtel, Jose Enrique, Shelvey, Spearing, Gerrard, Suarez, Carroll, Bellamy.

Alan Pardew is without the injured Fabricio Coloccini, which partners James Perch with Mike Williamson in central defence and puts Jonas Gutierrez in the left-back berth. It’s the same attacking mentality that served them so well at West Brom.

Liverpool also name an attacking side, knowing that a win here is essential if they want to overhaul the Magpies. Andy Carroll returns to his former stomping ground and starts alongside Luis Suarez.

    And once again, proof that I truly fail at this game. Not only did I have BAE and McClean on my bench last week, I now find myself with Siggy lying 1st on my bench having played Ba both times over them because of fixtures. Worked so hard to claim top spot in my ML only to find myself now back in 2nd place and have to start all over again. Gutting.

    Acqua. We’ve got swansea away next, then a juicy game against bolton at home, then a blank. So not the best time to be getting toon assets. But then city have arsenal away next up. Neither ideal. Crouch for one game against wolves at home to balotelli to cisse?

    I want to put Lamps in but he's been playing a lot of games recently and with Benfica midweek, poor wee Franky might get tired. But if he plays Wigan he could destroy them. Should I go for it or not? Also, is anyone considering Crouch against Wolves next week? Wolves are atrocious at the minute I actually kind of feel bad for them. But they shouldn't have sacked Big Mick. So I hold no sympathy.

      Donkey work but a great asset nonetheless. Can't fault what he does for any team he plays for. It's not the pretty side of the game but he is just as important as anyone in that team.
