The Dugout Discussion opens today for two Premier League games involving some of it’s most enjoyable teams to watch. Third-place chasing Spurs take on the exciting Swansea City after Newcastle host Liverpool, with the former fighting for European football.

The team news from the game at The Sports Direct Arena is in, and the sides line-up as follows…

Newcastle XI: Krul, Simpson, Williamson, Perch, Gutierrez, Guthrie, Tiote, Cabaye, Ben Arfa, Cisse, Ba.

Liverpool XI: Reina, Flanagan, Carragher, Skrtel, Jose Enrique, Shelvey, Spearing, Gerrard, Suarez, Carroll, Bellamy.

Alan Pardew is without the injured Fabricio Coloccini, which partners James Perch with Mike Williamson in central defence and puts Jonas Gutierrez in the left-back berth. It’s the same attacking mentality that served them so well at West Brom.

Liverpool also name an attacking side, knowing that a win here is essential if they want to overhaul the Magpies. Andy Carroll returns to his former stomping ground and starts alongside Luis Suarez.

    Fulham are useless away, but Dempsey will most probably be playing up front now and its Bolton after all

      I would like to draw your attention to the curious case of the Cheap Awayday Midfielder, or “CAMF”, as we shall call it.

      This is the virulent disease that mid - to low-priced midfielders get, sometimes called Bashful Bonus Nabbing, or Not Tonight Josephinitis, the Josephines alluded to, being the frustrated Home Supporters. CAMF.

      The symptoms of CAMF have been well documented. As soon as the player gets on the Away Coach, their shyness falls away like scales from a dead fish, they start to give their Centre Forward the leery eye, they nudge their scoring Centre Back in the ribs with a wink; and when they get on the field of play they come all over with the flashy - but now suddenly accurate backheels - and start spraying around deadly crossfield balls with all the panache of a modern Charlie George.

      The incredibly painful effects are well-known, and do not need detailed documentation here. Suffice to say, the prognosis is poor scores, a bench with points “hanging out the back of it”, gnashing teeth, wailing fantasy players, clumps of hair interfering with the proper function of keyboards, casual transfers often done too early, and many, many other sorts of mayhem which shall remain thankfully private.

      We believe that the toxic virus CAMF is both contagious and infectious. The first known carrier is a certain Moses, but both Sigurdsson and Ben Arfa are confirmed with it, and we are sure that it will spread further.

      THERE IS NO CURE, PRESENTLY.

      If your team is dependent on one of these players, the only advice that we can offer is prayer.

      Imo there are no pressing needs in your team.

      You currently have 11 players penciled in for w34 but there is a fair way to go until then. Injuries and suspensions could hit at anytime and even if they don't the saved transfer could come in handy for the Double Game weeks(assuming that you no longer have a wildcard?)

      If you find it too hard to save the transfer, lets face it- many of us do, then I personally would go for option B.
      If you are ahead in your mini league I would play it safe and stick with Bale, VDV is an obvious differential if you need to make up ground. He is coming into a rich vein of form but he is the more injury prone and the more likely to get hooked if things are not going Harry's way.
