Two finishes of the highest quality finally rolled over the Rovers resistance at Ewood and saw United defy Roberto Mancini’s prediction to open up a five point gap at the top. Here’s the key stats from United’s 2-0 win, along with our prediction of where the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) bonus points could be heading…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

I'm thinking Cisse/Dempsey won't do that great in their DGW. I'm getting Ade/A.Cole. Will end up with Krul/Simpson/Bale/Ade/Cole/Enrigue as my only 6 DGW players.

Have just hit the front in my mini-league for the first time all season, 31 teams in it at €20 a head so its worth winning! Was about 80 behind 5/6 weeks ago Tosey and now 20 odd ahead so it can be done, 33 is nothing!

    Vorm (Ruddy)
    Assou, Evans, Evra (R.Taylor, Simpson)
    Bale, Dempsey, Silva, Moses (McClean)
    Rooney, RVP, Cisse

Need to make way for Valencia (massively late to the bandwagon but have had Evra, Evans and Rooney for ages). Thinking of doing Evra & Silva out >> Baines/Ivanovic/Cahill and Valencia in.

        This.

Most teams, Arsenal included, have a hard time putting up goals against Villa, but for whatever reason Liverpool, no matter how bad their form is, seem to thump goals in against them. Also consider that we may not be seeing much more Carroll out there as Kenny will be forced to abandon his pot-committed tomfoolery with Carroll and one or two other garbage signing.

Suarez and Steve stay for now...unless I get a Chelsea itch...but that won't happen until after Wednesday.

Worth starting Shotton (WOL) this week ahead of any of the below given the doubts surrounding Pennant and Etherington?

    Migs
    Skrtel, JEvans, Caulker
    Dempsey, Walcott, Siggy, Valencia
    RVP, Rooney, Suarez

    Bogdan, Shotton, Surman, Kompany

Shotton never seems to do anything when he plays. A chance of an Oop CS is as good as it gets but he is unlikely to play 90 minutes. I would sell for Kilgallon or even Wilkinson.

I wouldn't have Kompany as 3rd sub either. The game at the Emirates will be a tight game no doubt and he could be a threat from set pieces.

Just checked his stats and you're right. Time to get rid I think. Was thinking about Shotton -> Kaboul (wouldn't play him this week but I would in GW33 and he has a decent DGW). Good move? As for Kompany, maybe he'll go ahead of Surman on reflection...

Cheers. Yeah I already have 10 now and have 2 freebies this week so should have no problem fielding 11 in GW34. Lining up a GW34 bench of Bogdan*, Kaboul, Skrtel*, Adebayor. Seem decent?

Not sure about that - Bogdan unlikely to keep a cleanie but at least he has 2 games to rack up save points - I'd expect a minimum of 5 from him over the 2, whereas Migs probably has a max of 7.

Not sure about Kompany, they will concede goals and can't see anyone other than Dzeko or Balo beating anyone for headers. Cue Wilko (or Marc Wilson) to bench and Shotton on for CS...

But I do feel you...as soon as I get rid of Shotton he will play and score. It's about time for him to get his turn.

It's a weird feeling having Sessegnon on the bench with 8 points, but actually thinking that I made the right decision and it only had a 1 point impact. I'd never have benched Rooney (bla) or Bale (SWA), and so it only really cost me 1 point for the decision over Sigurdsson.

    Can't complain.

    Guys question.........

I'm worried about captaining Rooney this week, as he might end up playing in a deeper role as he did again B'burn yesterday. On the other if he were to play as a striker he might easily be able to score a brace. Does he play in a different position at home vs. away? Is it even worth captaining him this week?

I would say maybe. Especially if QPR play United the way they played Arsenal. I would think that they would close United down quicker robbing the Giggs and Scholes of time and comfort on the ball. I really liked , he bought Taarabt a sh*tload of time. I don't understand why they don't let Young play centrally, or just push almost everything through Rafael/Valencia.

It's a great feeling when that happens. I made a huge leap when Fulham beat Wolves 5-0. I ended up with 93 points while my rivals only had 30/40 points.

god....F$^%# Suarez....Liverpool have great fixtures. If someone scored for the reds its gonna be Gerrard and Suarez assisting....he (in very small type) could score some goals.....great differential bc not only will people not have Suarez but no liverpool in general...I WANT him out of my team....why cant I?

because I doubt Kenny can play Carroll again. If Kuyt was played every game and Carroll was made to earn a position they would probably have 1/4 more goals this season at least. They score against Villa.

Getting rid of Silva this week. Who to bring in?

    a) Walcott (has a game in gw34)

    b) Mata (no game in gw34 but nice double gw coming up and decent fixtures)

    c) someone else?

    Current midfield is

    Bale, Valencia, *Silva*, Miyachi, Dyer

    2.5m in the bank

        Do Silva > Walcott asap.

Dyer > Siggy the week after.

        They are great moves.

Surprised you have kept Silva for so long. I got rid 5 weeks ago.

In my opinion Miyaichi and Dyer still have value - good fixtures. Silva looks totally burnt out, him getting subbed off early at the weekend all but confirmed it. It's a shame because I really thought he'd be a season keeper.

I'd suggest getting in either Walcott or if you wanted to stick with City maybe Yaya?

I think Dyer will be sharing match time with Routledge given his recent good form. Dyer is preferred out of the two but I still think there is a risk there.

Yeah true, I guess what I should have said was that Dyer and Miyaichi have better value than Silva. I agree with your above comment, getting Siggy in for Dyer would be a smart move.

Happy with this week’s results. Looking to finish in top 300 for the month which has helped my mini-league positions no-end. My toughest challenge leaves me 50 pts behind after making 61 in the last month.

And I have my wildcard and 2FT. In fact, all I could possibly want (except the cash or some more points).

So my plans are to play purely for the points in the next few gameweek ignoring GW35+ fixtures.

    Current team

    Vorm (sorensen)
    Kompany/Simpson/Evans/Senderos/McAuley
    Valencia/Dempsey/Siggy/Sinclair/Miyaichi
    RVP/Rooney/Adebayor

What are the key transfers that I need to be looking at over the next few weeks.

For the record, Rooney and Siggy are staying and I will probably want to hold onto Simpson and Adebayor during GW34.

It certainly isn't my most exciting transfer of the season but is Kelly -> Caulker the most sensible one with gwk 34 in mind (Already have Vorm & only have 4.1 to spend..) No other pressing transfers.

having 1 or 2 players less in GW34 can be negligible. Who knows, GW34 could turn out to be a shite week and those 2 "missing" players may only bring you 2 points. Or less.

Yeah good point, but there are some strong fixtures in GW 34 so with some good planning you could put a good amount of space between yourself and those who dont field 11 players

in a squeeze with FT's as i will have 2 FT's before GW34 and no outfield players to change means losing an FT if i don't use it.

    looking at keepers:

GW34: Krul > Schwarzer (play Mig and bench Schwarzer)
    GW35: Schwarzer (WIG)
    GW36: Schwarzer (eve, liv)

    any other keeper suggestions?

So, Suarez has Aston Villa at home. Do we keep or get rid?

If we get rid, the options seem to be:
    P Cisse (swa, BOL, blank)
    Adebayor (sun, NOR, blank)
    Bendtner (TOT, eve, WOL)

Personally, I find myself leaning towards keeping Suarez for (AVL, bla) and then switching him to Bendtner to field 11 without a hit. Which would ye prefer?

14 crosses fired in by Antonio Valencia. No other player produced more than the Ecuadorian in the Gameweek as Valencia was kept fed by the United midfield

This is not correct, on Saturday you wrote that Kolarov had 16 crosses!
