An inspired display from Antonio Valencia helps stretch United’s lead at the top over City. Ashley Young also gets amongst the goals as the champions leave it late at Blackburn, while Wayne Rooney draws a blank for the second time in three Gameweeks.

Antonio Valencia
A goal and assist from the Ecuadorian continued an outstanding run of form that has firmly established him as United’s prime midfield Fantasy asset. Since cementing a role on the right flank back in Gameweek 14, Valencia has produced attacking returns in nine of his fourteen appearances, with five double figure points hauls indicative of his explosive performances. Having missed three games with a hamstring strain, his price dropped as low as 7.5 as recent as Gameweek 29 but Valencia has already risen 0.6 since, with his paltry 10% ownership continuing to rapidly climb. He’s now level with Gareth Bale in terms of point per game, with an average of 5.8, and with (QPR, wig, AVL, EVE) up next, the points look set to keep flowing.

Ashley Young and Wayne Rooney
With Nani still sidelined, Young looked to be the main contender for the left wing position but yesterday’s team sheet caused consternation, with Rooney moved to the flank as Young sat on the bench. Although Rooney was switched centrally later on, his Fantasy managers will be far from enamoured with last night’s turn of events ahead of United’s upcoming run. The same applies to Young; although the former Villa man sealed the victory with a late second, he was afforded just 12 minutes by Sir Alex Ferguson at Ewood Park last night and, with the likes of Danny Welbeck also filling in on the flanks in recent weeks, it appears his game time is far from guaranteed.

Jonny Evans
Still with under 12% Fantasy ownership, the centre-half continued his superb recent run of returns with a fourth consecutive clean sheet at Ewood Park. With a goal, assist and four bonus points also accrued over those matches, Evans has returned 37 points since the start of Gameweek 28; Rooney, in comparison, has picked up 26 points. Evans is now up to 5.2, and with almost 100,000 bringing him in over the last fortnight, a hike in price is again on the cards as more arrive late to the party.

Rafael
Finally free from injury, the Brazilian maintained his recent starting berth against Blackburn. Despite the likes of Phil Jones and Chris Smalling both offering alternatives for the right-back role, Rafael has now started the last three for United and seems to be cementing his place as first-choice under Ferguson. An assist for Valencia’s opener last night means he has now picked up attacking returns or bonus in each of those three appearances – with three clean sheets also thrown in, an average of 9 points per game and ownership of less than 1% could be tempting for those Fantasy managers who have yet to invest in Evans.

Will we have a Ji-Sung park sighting next match, Diakite and Taarabt will be a problem? As in, Valencia can't be ball-hawking either of them and neither can Rafael, they are the only things resembling a proxy for the gross lack of a central and attacking midfield. Personally Young centrally would suit me fine. It seems almost idiotic for Rooney to drop deep to turn the ball and dip back into the hole. 4-5-1 in denial I suppose...

      Diakite looked really good.

    morning all.

in my current role as "King of the Last Page Posters", allow me a little REPOST moment:

in a squeeze with FT’s as i will have 2 FT’s before GW34 and no outfield players to change means losing an FT if i don’t use it.

    looking at keepers:

GW34: Krul > Schwarzer (play Mig and bench Schwarzer)
    GW35: Schwarzer (WIG)
    GW36: Schwarzer (eve, liv)

    any other keeper suggestions?

Thinking the same. Rooney is playing the game at far too slow a pace at the minute and not looking like getting on the end of much.

Tony V is involved in nearly all the Unted attacks and his deliveries are so good he will be raking in the assists when he is not chipping in with goals.

So, Suarez has Aston Villa at home. Do we keep or get rid?

If we get rid, the options seem to be:
    P Cisse (swa, BOL, blank)
    Adebayor (sun, NOR, blank)
    Bendtner (TOT, eve, WOL)

Personally, I find myself leaning towards keeping Suarez for (AVL, bla) and then switching him to Bendtner to field 11 without a hit. Which would ye prefer?

Facing a similar conundrum. I'm keeping this week (more for the fact that Villa are absolutely terrible at defending away from home, than Liverpool or Suarez are scoring lots at home). Then I'm probably doing Suarez -> Adebayor next week.

Sorry this isn't my team. 6 changes away from this side but I could have it by GW36.

      I currently have 11 for GW34.

Don't think Rooney is that crucial especially when there are plenty goalscorers elsewhere.

Is it wise to transfer out Jelavic --> P Cisse this week or wait another week?

Foolishly transferred in Jelavic last week thinking he'd provide more points than Cisse.

I did the same but not because I thought he'd score more, but as I only had £5.9 to spend. Keeping Jelavic this week then getting rid for ade week after.

I had the cash for Cisse but Everton looked to have the easier fixture.

Might just have to keep him one more week, ade is a good shout too.

KNEEEEEEEEEE JERK. Just because your pick scored less than another play in the first week doesn't mean it was the wrong/bad pick. Jelavix looks good and should do well in the next few. Surely your transfers are better spent to aid you for GW34 & 36?

Yeah, you're probably right. I could really do with transferring a defender.

I still have my wildcard so was planning on using that for the double gameweek. Came out with 57pts this week and managed to get to the top of my mini league so it's not been all that bad.

Need to pick one of these 3 to play: Ideas?

    Enrique, Kelly, or Walker

While I'm at it Krul or Mignolet? Leaning towards Krul despite being away...

    Thanks!

Enrique or Walker. Enrique more chance of cleansheet even with Liverpools poor form.

Not really sure what to do, as I can't do Kelly > Caulker.
    Any advice?

    Vorm - Krul
    Kompany - Verm - Evans - Kelly - Kaboul
    Dempsey - Young - Siggy - Miyaichi - Bale
    RVP - Rooney - Cisse

    Nothing in the bank

Ive considered it but it just feels way too sideways...

I guess I could make it a 4pt hit and get Baines in for Kompany as well

Not a bad idea. If Valencia doesn't get you the 4 back, Baines certainly could

Doubling up on Swans defenders ... has served me well in the past though!
I'm with you on Kompany though. Can't see Arsenal not getting a goal. Cheers

Im soooooooo unhappy with Balotelli. He was the perfect Suarez replacement for 3 GW's. Anyone else seem a decent pick who will play GW33, 34 & 35 or is it worth sticking bu Suarez for the double and just playing 10 players GW34?

      Aguero might come back.

See how Suarez does this week, but would be a ballsy move to keep him instead of Ade/Cisse for the DGW.

Dempsey has poor away form but I have a feeling even he might do well against the Bolton defence.

Not going to happen, Mark posted that it's down to the Press Association to provide that data for the game and they have to go with what they say in a situation like that. They've decided that Ben Arfa touched it and it seems HIGHLY unlikely they will change that.

Having 11 players for gw34 and 6 or 7 dgw players + others with good fixtures will be more productive than going short gw34 and larging it with dgw players who don't play for Spurs or Chelsea imo

Agree especially seeing as most people will be plumping for Man U, Arsenal, Swansea and Sunderland, and they have very good fixtures.
