An inspired display from Antonio Valencia helps stretch United’s lead at the top over City. Ashley Young also gets amongst the goals as the champions leave it late at Blackburn, while Wayne Rooney draws a blank for the second time in three Gameweeks.

Antonio Valencia
A goal and assist from the Ecuadorian continued an outstanding run of form that has firmly established him as United’s prime midfield Fantasy asset. Since cementing a role on the right flank back in Gameweek 14, Valencia has produced attacking returns in nine of his fourteen appearances, with five double figure points hauls indicative of his explosive performances. Having missed three games with a hamstring strain, his price dropped as low as 7.5 as recent as Gameweek 29 but Valencia has already risen 0.6 since, with his paltry 10% ownership continuing to rapidly climb. He’s now level with Gareth Bale in terms of point per game, with an average of 5.8, and with (QPR, wig, AVL, EVE) up next, the points look set to keep flowing.

Ashley Young and Wayne Rooney
With Nani still sidelined, Young looked to be the main contender for the left wing position but yesterday’s team sheet caused consternation, with Rooney moved to the flank as Young sat on the bench. Although Rooney was switched centrally later on, his Fantasy managers will be far from enamoured with last night’s turn of events ahead of United’s upcoming run. The same applies to Young; although the former Villa man sealed the victory with a late second, he was afforded just 12 minutes by Sir Alex Ferguson at Ewood Park last night and, with the likes of Danny Welbeck also filling in on the flanks in recent weeks, it appears his game time is far from guaranteed.

Jonny Evans
Still with under 12% Fantasy ownership, the centre-half continued his superb recent run of returns with a fourth consecutive clean sheet at Ewood Park. With a goal, assist and four bonus points also accrued over those matches, Evans has returned 37 points since the start of Gameweek 28; Rooney, in comparison, has picked up 26 points. Evans is now up to 5.2, and with almost 100,000 bringing him in over the last fortnight, a hike in price is again on the cards as more arrive late to the party.

Rafael
Finally free from injury, the Brazilian maintained his recent starting berth against Blackburn. Despite the likes of Phil Jones and Chris Smalling both offering alternatives for the right-back role, Rafael has now started the last three for United and seems to be cementing his place as first-choice under Ferguson. An assist for Valencia’s opener last night means he has now picked up attacking returns or bonus in each of those three appearances – with three clean sheets also thrown in, an average of 9 points per game and ownership of less than 1% could be tempting for those Fantasy managers who have yet to invest in Evans.

RM(GW36)T - will be fielding 11 in GW34 and taking no hits. Need more DGWers in attacking roles?

    BOGDAN
    BAINES, KABOUL, SKRTEL

Nice team but unless you already have him I wouldn't advise getting in Bogdan as he has poor GW36 fixtures. Id say a 4pt hit to swap out Rooney to a DGW striker could pay off. Also even though it will be tough with rotation I think getting some chelsea players in with their fixtures would be worthwhile?

I already have Bogdan so seems to make sense to keep him now. Rooney -> Drogba/Torres 'could' work out amazing. If one of them is starting every game by then I may well do this.

im firmly in the 'keep dempsey' camp

hes definitely my captain gwk35, hes then (probably) gauranteed 4pts gwk36 and then has a home game (where hes averaged over 10pts in the last 6 games) in gwk37

      ill shift him out gwk38

I agree with your reasons for justifying holding onto Dempsey but what about GW 34? Wouldn't you rather have Walcott/Valencia (if you didn't have them already, like me)?

I need to do Dempsey > Valencia/Walcott to play 11 in GW34 and I prefer Valencia and Walcott over GW34-38:

Valencia AVL EVE mci SWA sun

2 out of the top 3 players in the world have Ferguson occupying their 5th midfield slot. I always viewed this as a terrible tactic. Tempting to follow suit or did they just luck it?

they prob had him from the start when he was 3.9m to free up funds, its not worth it now as this time of the season you bench players will come into play more often what with rotation, injuries etc

He was very poor with his passing and wasn't getting into positions to score many goals.

That said, I'll still be keeping him until GW36 as he could easily shift back up top with 2 of Valencia/Nani/Young playing on the wings and 2 centre mid. playmakers behind him

    Ok here's my front 8 🙂

    Valencia - Dempsey - Bale - Siggy - (Pilkington)

    RVP - Rooney - Suarez

    So, which would you do:

    A) Suarez > Bendtner
    Pilkington > Sessegnon
For a -4 hit, but would probably have to bench Bendtner.

Gives 2 more players for GW 34

    B) Dempsey > Walcott or Sessegnon

Again fixtures in GW34 and could well score more until then.

    C) Suarez > Cisse or Ade

    Because it's Suarez

Exactly the same position as me.

      A) Suarez is at home to Villa, seems wrong to sell now, especially as Bendy/Ade/Cisse don't have great fixtures this week.

      B) Sess looks good but Walcott plays for a better team. Tough one, I'm still undecided. Will prob depend on whether I get Bendy.

      D) This is what I'd do if I were you. Annoyingly I have 2 frees this week so have to do one of them or I lose one.

    Bonus just in.

As expected but Evan was a nice surprise,

I have bitten the bullet and shifted Silva out for Siggy which leaves me with 4.2 in the bank.

    Team is

    ______________Vorm___________________

    ______Cahill_______Evans________Enrique_____(Turner, Simpson)

    ___Bale____Sess____Siggy____Valencia___Dempsey____

    ____Van Persie____Rooney_____(Graham)

With 4.2 in the bank I could go Vermalen in next week and then a Swansea Defender the week after so that I will have 11 players for the blank week and then Dempsey, Cahill, Enrique for the doubles and whoever else I pick up for those weeks depending on chasing.

If you had 4 in the bank and that team where would you put it?

Less transfers goes top. If equal transfers then both will show same ranking.

    Hi all,

I have two free transfers this week, which option do you think is best?

    a) Pog Suarez > Balotelli Cisse
    b) Pog Suarez Gerrard > Adebayor Cisse Sessegnon (spend 4)

City defenders had to be played last week. I saved Kompany for weeks like that!
