As the April 8 amnesty draws near, there are now just three names sitting in wait of the Damoclean sword that will seal their fate. With just one Gameweek left to negotiate for all our protagonists before the bar is raised to 15 yellows after Sunday, our trio are nearing the end of their uncomfortable journeys.

Having successfully come through losses at QPR and Wigan respectively without cautions, long term incumbents Laurent Koscielny and Ryan Shawcross will move on to their weekend match ups as the Easter schedule heats up.

Shawcross welcomes Wolves to the Britannia and need to stay on the good side of Mike Halsey, whose yellow card average is amongst the lowest in the league (2.38 cards per game but no reds in 16 previous fixtures). Koscielny entertains Manchester City at the Emirates in Sunday’s final showdown and will be keen to stay out of Martin Atkinson’s notebook; Atkinson already blinks on our radar as a flasher of reds – he has pulled out a table-topping eight in 24 games this year and also has an above average yellow count (3.33 per game).

Joining those previous two faces for company on this final week rollercoaster is the QPR captain Joey Barton. Booed by his own fans following a poor display in the win over Liverpool, Barton took to the programme at the weekend to call for some unity ahead of the difficult run. Never one to miss an opportunity, he also responded on the pitch with an improved performance and a ninth yellow card in the win over Arsenal – more representative of the Barton we’ve been accustomed to seeing this year – and earned himself a place on the high wire. Barton’s fixture is another tough one as he takes his QPR team to Old Trafford and a date with the current league leaders, but with Lee Mason at the helm of this one (2.65 yellows per game and no reds in 20 previous fixtures) Barton may be relaxed about the chances of reaching the suspension limit.

Finally it’s away from the potentials and on to the immediate bad boys, and while Djibril Cissé continues to serve his time, It’s the unlikely shape of Pepe Reina who goes to join him on the naughty step. Guilty of an attempted head-butt in the loss to Newcastle, Liverpool’s Spanish stopper gave referee Martin Atkinson little choice than to add to his reputation, even if the theatrics of recipient James Perch were a little on the dramatic side. Reina will now sit out the next three games for the Anfield club, with Gameweek 32 and 33 followed by the FA Cup Semi-final against Everton. Brazilian Doni will presumably step in to relive José Enrique for that spell.

GAMEWEEK 32 BANS

  • Pepe Reina (LIV) – 1 Red for violent conduct (first of 3 matches)
  • Djibril Cissé (QPR) – 1 Red for serious foul play (second of 4 matches)

I've got 50pts to make up over mini-league leader. What do I need to do with the following team between now and GW34

    Vorm
    Kompany/Evans/McAuley
    Siggy/Valencia/Sinclair/Dempsey
    Rooney/RVP/Ade

    Subs Sorensen/Senderos/Simpson/Miyaichi

2FT and a small amount of loose change.

Minimum of 11 key players needed for GW34 but I don't want to get rid of Adebayor or Simpson.

Two Swans mids looks like overkill. So perhaps

      Sinclair > Sess/McClean this week,
then Dempsey > Walcott next week.

Depends on how much loose change you have and who your mini league leader has.

Just realised you will need another transfer to get 11 players for 34. So remaining transfer could be Senderos to Caulker.

        Lets you bench Sor/Ade/Simps/Ryo

I've got 4 transfers between now and GW34 so moving Sinclair is not a problem and I like this because it allows the far better Senderos ->Caulker. But Swansea have three good fixtures while both Sunderland and Arsenal have a tough game this week.

That said, Arsenal look good for GW33 and Sunderland do the same for GW34.

To be honest, I think I need to design my GW34 team and then figure out how to get there. Starting with Sinclair -> McLean might be as good a way as any.

There are clearly arguments for and against keeping him.

His suspect away form with no GW34 and 2 away DGW fixtures don't outweigh (h) to Chelsea and Wigan in my opinion.

I have him and will play him @ Bolton but I would rather have Sessegnon.

Athletico Madrid have today announced that JKisthe1 has left the club by mutual consent. His exit follows a disappointing Europa campaign that, although began brightly, finished with 4 straight defeats leaving the early Group I favourites to claim last place as the ranked teams finished in reverse order.

A club statement read "We would like to thank JK for his efforts, and although we were never humiliated, results were simply not up to the standard we would have expected"

As of yet there has been no comment from JK who is believed to be busy preparing his new charges, Worthless Peons for a tricky spell of short and long gameweeks that loom on the horizon. It is not known if JK's contribution in analysing the Europa ahead of the weekend's final group matches caused him to neglect his team, but a source close to JK indicated that this was not the case and he simply fell to a case of bad luck.

        cheers
        so do I

Thought I'd made a mistake going for De Gea over Howard this week, but United are good value for CS up until derby. Howard's DGW fixtures look good and he play the final 3 weeks where I would be tempted to play 5-2-3 (I will drop Skrtel and get Verm back in for Norwich at home, and maybe try and squeeze Theo back in)

A bit of both I'd say. I was flying in the FPL cup up until the Jan WC when the wheels came flying off.

Hi guys - been absent for a few days so forgive me if this has been done to death. My current plan with transfers etc means that I will have 9 players for GW34, and 8 players for the DGW36. No hits will be incurred either (took a -8 on the chin this week!) Oh, i'll have Ryo in GW 35 so may get a few more points there too!

Is this a good amount to go by? What are everybody else doing? Hits or not?

Rapid Bucharesti have today announced that though they are delighted to have scraped into the next round of the Europa League, they are far from impressed with manager Menly Menski.

They revealed that apart from achieving several convincing wins, Menly was a lazy drunk, who even failed to turn up the the club's first match against Legia, as he was asleep with a hangover.
According to local paper "The Fist of Stalin", Menly was dreaming about the Duchess of Cambridge when his unprepared and unchanged team took to the field against a strong Legia side, and the club announce that should this happen again he will be fired immediately.

    Afternoon all!

I know its a boring transfer but with no other pressing transfer how does Kelly -> Caulker sound? I could then field 9 in gwk 34 (Will be 10 when I do Demps -> Sess)..

I could just save the transfer but I think I will probably end doing it at some stage anyway.

I also own Vorm but will have only 4.1 to spend.

If there is no pressing transfer you should save it just in case of injuries.

Having been away quite a bit I’ve not been on the site a lot over the last few weeks and my ranking has PLUMMETED. now outside the top 100k, folks on here would have convinced me to sell Silva Walters & Ba by now but I have stood idley by in the semi-assured knowledge that they would “come good”.

Just goes to show how useful this site can be.

Have been caught in my ML too so can anyone help me.

I had just enough to do Walters > Sess this week and still have 1 FT remaining, team as it stands:

    Schwarzer Mignolet
    Kompany Enrique SKelly Simpson NTaylor
    Sess Bale Silva Siggy Surman
    RVP Rooney Ba

    0.2 in bank.

Players I am looking to bring in over the next few weeks as follows:

Given / Friedel for Schwarzer (Villa have 2 home fixtures in their DGW 35)
Kaboul / Cahill / Collins for Kompany (purely for the double)
Evans for Kompany (meaning I don’t bother with the above)
    Ade for Ba
    Valencia for Silva
    Miyaichi for Surman

    Does all this sound reasonable?

Will phase them all in over the next 4-5 GW’s, even tempted to draft Bendtner in for a 1 week punt in GW34 as they have Wolves at home.
