We’ve had the ball in for an examination – we’ve screened it for fibres from Hatem Ben Arfa’s boots and we can now reveal that the results were inconclusive. The forensics proved nothing – Quincy has let us down.

As you may have guessed, last weekend’s events at the Sports Direct Arena and the Fantasy Premier League’s assist ruling provides the topic of discussion for this week’s ScoutCast. Wrapped around that, Mark and I throw in the usual regulars and I try my best to keep my chin up throughout, despite the widening mini-league gap.

Bring this week’s episode in for an examination via this link. Or stream the evidence from the handy player below.

    Team for this week:

    Vorm
    Evans / BAE / Shawcross
    Dempsey / Bale / Valencia / Sigurdsson
    Ba / Rooney / RVP

Subs Krul / Miyaichi / Simpson / Vermaelen

Krul or Vorm in goal? Leaning towards Vorm as its a Home Game for Swansea. I think both sides will score however so it may be academic, but Vorm normally picks up a few savepoints no matter what happens.

Also wondering wether to bench Ba (Saving Transfers for GW34 and Above)

    Any suggestions?

Ok so here a long one for anyone who wants to reply.
The question is simple Plan A or Plan B

The first three game weeks moves are the same.

    GW 32 save
    GW 33 Dempsey to Walcott
    GW 34 Begovic to Bodgan

    Now the differences.

    Plan A
    GW 35 McClean to Miyaichi/Petrov
    GW 36 Rooney/Walcott/Kompany to Ade/Mata/ Baines -4

    Plan B
    GW 35 Walcott to Dempsey
    GW 36 Rooney/McClean/Kompany to Ade/Mata/Hibbert -4

I just can't decide. Thanks to all that replay.

    So A or B?

Ya with A I get the extra player for gw 35 and Baines for the double but with B I get Dempsey against wigin which looks promising. Tough decision alrite. Thanks for your thoughts.

whats the general view on their 3rd striker? looking to ditch ba

should i get a forward like yak/odem/graham who has a gw34 fixture? or get a more inform forward like cisse/ade who has decent fixtures but no gw34?

(bearing in mind im probably going to transfer in ade or cisse for 36 anyway)

If you can get Ciise in and still have 11 players for GW34 then I'd get him. If not Odemwingie looks the best bet as you can easily downgrade to Ciise after the DGW.

10 and Ciise may be better than 11 and Bendtner, Yak, Odem or Graham in the long term as you wouldn't have to waste a transfer to bring him in later.

    Current team:

    Santon Kelly Evans BAE Skrtel

    Valencia Bale Dempsey McClean Sess

    RVP Rooney Suarez

2 FTS and nothing in the bank.

This GW: Demp ->Siggy and Bale -> Walcott.

    GW 33: Santon ->Verm.
    GW 34: Kelly->Turner.
    GW 35: Save.
GW 36: Walcott/Valencia (Depends on form) -> Bale and Rooney/RVP (Depends on form) ->Ade.

    What do you think??

Just seen your team B2B and I have to say it's in shambles, having to play Ruddy each week, Taiwo, Nasri, Santon and possibly Morison rotation risks.

But then I see you have your WC intact and a full XI for GW34, very tactical Sir.

                Well played.

As an alternative to the normative plans out there consider this as an option. Ben Arfa instead of Walcott to free up funds elsewhere? The next 4 opponents are virtualy the same

    Walcott: wol, WIG, CHE, sto

    overall: 5
    Last 10 games: 6.4
    Last 5 games: 6.4

Ben Arfa: BOL, 0, STO, wig/che

    overall: 4.1
    Last 10 games: 5.5
    Last 5 games: 7.6

This shows B Arfa is on a real hot streak at the moment and could mean he will match Walcots output but for a much cheaper price allowing transfers elsewhere.

Is this a viable alternative? thoughts would be much appreciated

The worry with Ben Arfa is he's not always as nailed on as Walcott is (although arguably should be more now).

Plus he doesn't have GW34...getting Walcott in sooner means not having to transfer him out at all, or until after Wigan game which makes transfers less intensive and possibly less likely to have to take a hit.

He's certainly been doing fantastic but will likely still be a greater differential more than anything so if you're catching in a ML he's a potential great pick.

-I firmly believe he is now nailed on going by Pardews comments

-GW34 doesn't matter as he has the DGW in 36. Also I don't plan to transfer out HBA but would bench him for the Citeh game.

-I could also do with a differential but also for some reason people are planning to not keep Walcott for the DGW anyway

He should be yes, looks that way to be fair.

True but it's judging whether he can capitalise in his DGW or not.

Wolves away is easy for Arsenal, Wigan should be similar. Chelsea will be interesting but they're surely more focused upon CL and FA Cup. Stoke will pose biggest challenge potentially.

I guess benching him wouldn't be a bad idea, I guess it could very well prove a great differential but would have to use the free funds to capitalise further upon a potential other differential...or just bulk up on likes of Bale and VDV in mid who could destroy.

It would allow me to keep Rooney and still get Baines. Thats a good enough differential for me 🙂 . Of course that may change and VDV or Mata may prove to be a better option but I will cross that bridge when I get to id

Doing the same...my plan could end up leading to being just short depending on the price rises and falls of players though.

To be fair, while I've set up a sort of contingency plan for the next few weeks, I'm going to play it as it goes knowing I'll be safe with a good number of GW34 and DGW players either way.

Too much planning can be detrimental IMO...plus spontaneous decisions makes GWs more exciting 🙂

Well, everyone's different in how they're approaching the famine/feast that is weeks 34 and 36. I'm not sure what plan you're thinking of, but with a naughty 4.2 in the bank, you can do anything.

Maybe a McClean upgrade? Walcott seems popular one here ...

The crazy part is just the act itself, I should suspect.

Hey, he's young, worth a bajillion pounds, had his ego stroked his whole life & fame increases that by about ... a bajillion, his wife is 5 months pregnant (and so ... ), and he can't rightly boff the neighbor and expect it to remain hush-hush.

What they pay for is as much the secrecy as the product, if you will. Roon pays 1,200 because he wants to do it but doesn't want it known (the 'should have paid more argument comes next).

I'm not really saying it's OK ... but I get it.

Ryan. I agree with you on the above. Barfa is nailed on. And definitely a more than viable alternative to walcott. I will probably have both, but if it came down to one or the other, it would definitely be barfa + 4 million or whatever it is right now!

Now that is a difficult question. The pair has got me 54 points over the last two games (barfa = 26, Dave = 28). They are both on red hot form. I would say it is impossible to separate the two in terms of points potential. It all comes down to where you have a space in your team, and how much money you have. I'm VERY happy to have both.

Keeper question, I have Krul (away to Swansea) and Sorensen. I have already made my FT this week, so to change Sorensen would mean a hit, but I have no GW34 keeper cover, so I am probably going to have to take a hit to get a keeper in for then. So given that, what do people think to Sorensen to Vorm for a hit?

Thanks for the advice above. I think that, given you have no goalkeeper for 34, and you have to take a hit regardless, you might as well get Vorm in. I would just look to see who has the best fixtures for the rest of the season! Make sure it pays off in the long term that's all.

If you are only looking at GW34, and would by happy to play krul for the other games it isn't worth it because Vorm would have to keep a clean sheet to make it worth while (unlikely)

If you need a keeper to play GW34 AND you would play him to cover some bad fixtures for Krul, then it is worth it, because you will have more of a chance to gain the 4pts back.

I got rid of sorenson last week for howard for a hit. It was a no brainer because Mignolet was playing city away, and everton have a double coming up.
