We’ve had the ball in for an examination – we’ve screened it for fibres from Hatem Ben Arfa’s boots and we can now reveal that the results were inconclusive. The forensics proved nothing – Quincy has let us down.

As you may have guessed, last weekend’s events at the Sports Direct Arena and the Fantasy Premier League’s assist ruling provides the topic of discussion for this week’s ScoutCast. Wrapped around that, Mark and I throw in the usual regulars and I try my best to keep my chin up throughout, despite the widening mini-league gap.

Bring this week’s episode in for an examination via this link. Or stream the evidence from the handy player below.

McClean or Siggy this week? If you look back it seems that Siggy performs better in away fixtures (which Swansea is not this week).

Is there anyway to see your ranking, over a certain period? I would love to be able to see what my ranking would be from GW9 onward. I was languishing at 1.2 mill in GW8, now 35,000 and rising.

????? I must be reading something wrong here. Am i right in thinking that this is a league for all of the people starting in GW9? The leader has 1,392 points. My current score is 1,701. My score for the first 8 weeks, was 352 points. That would give me 1,349 points. Which would put me in 10th place!!!!!!!

But thinking about it, that isn't that good. What this doesn't show, is all of the people who started before that. And generally anybody starting in GW9 isn't a serious player. But still 10th, isn't bad. Anybody care to guess where that would put me in the overall GW9 table? Top 5,000 for sure I reckon. But how high? I'd be really interested in peoples thinking on this. Cheers.

Add up you points from GW 9 on, then give yourself the avg score plus 5 for the first 9 weeks.
Add the both together and you will have a fairly rough idea of how many points you would have.
Then find someone with similar points by browsing leagues and you will know how good you 'COULD' have been.
And when youv'e done that head up for a snooze and set your alarm clock for early August 😉

I honestly got won over to his potential. Fixtures were good, and HE was playing more offensively. One of Jinswick/Jackoff convinced of his fantasy value.

In hindsight, I regret it a little.

I thought he was too pricey for this value, ut considering all the cut-price options at the front, I thought he just might be worth it.

I'm only benching because it is indeed a 'tough' fixture, and I like so many other defensive options.

I scored 44 per week for the first 8 weeks, and was in 1.2 million!! i guess the average must have been higher than 50!

How about this. Our mini league leader was in 30,000 position in GW8. Which is around where I am now. He had 469 points. If I use his score for the first 8 weeks then add mine for GW9 onward, I get 1,818 (469 + 1,349) which would put me just inside the top 1,000. Would you say that was fair? Not bad if it is.

I have made some provisional amendments to my DGW rationale... I am no longer convinced of the benefits of having Miyaichi in my team:

    - the whole burn-out scenario raised by Coyle has turned me off.
    - having him prevents me from having Sess in GW34, as I will definitely be retaining Bale.
    - I don't particularly like Bolton's fixtures in GW35/36.
    - I'm not convinced he will play every minute let alone over 90 in any given week.

Of course I will watch how he plays over the next couple of weeks and make my decision closer to the time but by sacrificing him in my team I can have Sess, who over the course of 34-36 (WOL, avl, BOL) has fixtures that could bring some impressive hauls...

Although transferring out a player who already has a DGW will bring my maximum number (without hits) to 7 DGWers...

Am I right to consider chucking him, even though I brought him a few weeks back expressly for the DGWs?

I think If I didnt have Ryo already, I wouldn't get him. But I do, and I don't have your luxury of the ability to offload. I don't love their fixtures either, but hes there, so I may as well. I think he will play every minute, however.

Sess is worth not having him though. I'll have both, but if you need to choose one, I dont blame you for it being sess.

If I were you, I wouldnt get rid, but Maybe I would get Sess in for Dempsey after this week.

I'm also on 7 without hits, but I'll only have 10 for 34.

I am 90% sure I will take a hit. I kinda see double gameweeks as a wasted opportunity if you DONT take a hit.

Just gotta decide if I want VDV or 4 in the back with a Spurs defender. Or if I even WANT 8 DGWs. Siggy, sess, Caulker, and RVP all are very playable that week.

Yes, provisionally, I am playing 3 of those - RVP, Sess & Siggy

I will probably bench/trade Caulker in favour of a Spurs defender.

I remember we mentioned this earlier about the merits of VDV... most people will have Bale and will definitely want Ade for the DGW... that leaves one spot... for me it has to be a defender...

Now I only say that because I was burnt in their last DGW for having VDV along with Bale and Ade, and ignoring the likes of BAE and Walker...

Without letting us be influenced by the previous DGW, maybe there are merits to having the Holy Trinity of Attackers for this one...

For you, I totally agree. VDV straight up against a Spurs defender, the defender should win.

But that's a problem for me. I have Simpson and Enrique, and sadly, it is just not convenient to be rid of either. I want Baines too, which means if I want a Spurs defender as well, I need to play 4 defenders for the double..........and I just think that will not work.

              therefore, I'll probably go VDV.

So by taking out Suarez, I'd only have maximum 7...

    Morning all

No love for Collins of Villa from next week then? Nice fixtures - STO, mun, SUN, BOL, a warm body to stick in your team for GW34, a bit of a goal threat and a guaranteed starter as well. Obviously he'll get a big fat 0 at OT but the other games could see a 6,6,6 return. I'm very tempted, I have to say.
