We’ve had the ball in for an examination – we’ve screened it for fibres from Hatem Ben Arfa’s boots and we can now reveal that the results were inconclusive. The forensics proved nothing – Quincy has let us down.

As you may have guessed, last weekend’s events at the Sports Direct Arena and the Fantasy Premier League’s assist ruling provides the topic of discussion for this week’s ScoutCast. Wrapped around that, Mark and I throw in the usual regulars and I try my best to keep my chin up throughout, despite the widening mini-league gap.

Bring this week’s episode in for an examination via this link. Or stream the evidence from the handy player below.

If i were to get Cech instead of Friedel on my WC so that i don't need to worry about Chelsea defensive cover and rotation, who's the best keeper to pair with him for GW37 and 38?

Maybe Schwarzer? At home against Sunderland with both teams having secured safety might be a good one and then just play Cech in 38.

I’ve just done a transfer plan for my team up until GW36. What are your thoughts on it and what amendments would you make to it if any?

GW32: Reina to Vorm – This will be done for obvious reasons so that I'll have a keeper for the rest of the season.
GW33: Dempsey to Walcott – This will add another player to my team in GW34 and he has nice fixtures until the end of the season. He has Wolves in GW33 and Wigan in GW34 so he could get some big hauls there whilst Dempsey has Chelsea and a blank.
GW34: Jelavic to Bendtner – This transfer gets a player in for GW34 and I’ll also play him in the DGW as he has a really nice fixture.
Also I was thinking of getting another defender in to bring my team up to 11 players for GW34 but it would cost me 4 points and their is no point spending 4 points on a defender for just one GW.
    GW35: No transfer
GW36: Kompany to Kaboul, Williamson to Baines and Rooney to Adebayor(-4) – The first transfer is because Komps has a very hard fixture and Kaboul has 2 easy ones meaning the 4 points can be made back easily with this transfer alone, Williamson to Baines because he has an OK DGW and nice fixtures afterwards. Finally Rooney to Adebayor because Adebayor has Blackburn and Bolton and two nice fixtures after that also and Spurs will have something to play for unlike United who will most probably have won the title by this stage.

It’ll leave this as my team for the DGW
    Vorm(WOL)
    Baines(FUL, sto), Kaboul(BLA, bol), Skrtel(FUL, nor)
    Bale(BLA, bol), Siggy(WOL), Valencia(mci), Walcott(sto)
    RVP(sto), Adebayor(BLA, bol), Bendtner(BOL)

    Subs: Sorensen, Evans, Kelly, Moses

Both Blackburn and Bolton will more than likely still be in the relegation battle and will be fighting for their lives so I expect the performances from the bottom five teams to be much better than they have been in the next few weeks.

I'm moving away from him thought wise too - MON said he'd be giving the squad bit more of a run out now, mentioning Ji and Wickham specifically. Bendtner is also only on loan I believe, MON may have already have an opinion on Bendtner with regards to next season and may use other options to try a few out. Just a thought.

Well, on that side of things, I know that MON has said he hasn't even thought about signing Bendtner permanently so I reckon he'll be playing some younger lads to take his place. Plus Bendtner is a mong.

I've been doing so much tinkering and seeing what I can do and the conclusion I've come to? Do nothing this week 🙂 I don't fancy benching Bale and if I bought Siggy I'd have to do that.

Not having Siggy is annoying but was thinking of saving that for the next GW because I want to see how Aguero goes at the weekend. If he shines then I may be tempted to take a punt for a few weeks and sell Demps for Siggy too.

I've also been looking at players I want to buy - And the ones I want are mainly single gameweek players with the exception of Baines and maybe DVD. I'm not wholly convinced by a lot of DGW options.

Siggy is going up tonight though. I brought him in and Bale will be on the bench. Don't feel too comfortable with it but money was tight.

Aguero is coming in for Suarez ready for gameweek 34.

Money isn't so crucial now to me this late in the season (cue injuries and 0.1 shortage on potential future transfer!)

But if money is tight for you I guess it makes sense. I'm thinking about Aguero as I mentioned, but I'm going to take a look Sunday before deciding. If I don't get him for the WBA game I won't bother at all.

GW 34 to make up my 11th man (then will replace in GW 36 for a doubler), should I get in:

    Agbonlahor: mun, SUN BOL
    Bendtner: WOL, avl

Aggy has a rubbish GW 34 but would it be worth getting him in for his 35 potential? Or does he just not have any, and would it be wiser to get in someone like Bendner, who arguably has little scoring potential either?

Or anyone else that I'm missing? (to replace Ba for 34-35, don't really want to upgrade him too much as I am planning to get an expensive player in 35)

    Thanks

I've looked at him but although the fixtures appear kind - Villa are pretty lame. You have a couple of games to see what they look like before you make a call. He has just been given the armband in Stan's absence so it may inspire him a bit more to lead from the front. We shall see.

Liverpool are low on confidence (and quality some may add) at the moment, but I wouldn't be selling so quickly. Should the FA Cup spark an upturn in form, then Enrique will be nice to have for WBA, nor, FUL in GW35 and 36.

Think I'm going to keep and bench in GW34.

Defintitely a chance with their record, but given how potent the front 3 of Ba, Cisse and HBA look, and how bad the Toon defense is, I'd say they'll go all out for goals and score. So then got to look to Verm for his goalscoring potential and City's away scoring problems, 2 chances of points there.

Surman just coz Fulham are dodge away frome home and Surman pops up with the odd goal, why not?

How good is Breaking Bad? One of the lads strongly recommends it, The Sopranos was probably only major TV show I got into

    DGW 36 potential plan change:

Now I have Valencia, I may not sell him for VDV, but rather Rooney to Adebayor. I could then use this cash to do Caulker to Baines for a hit that week. Worth it with Vorm in goal?

I am leaning this way too. Rooney--->Ade and cheap defender to Baines/Cole. I already got Krul in goal for then

This could be a winner IF Manure have the prem all sewn up by GW36 and Spuds are still pressing for points (plus their fixtures are kind). So, I'm holding the idea in abeyance but ready to go.

      Youngs

Probably only fit enough for the bench though after just starting training, with Young in form and Welbeck even able to play there.

      Will threaten Young/Welbeck/other

Will not threaten Valencia, if he's fit he plays, so he is surely the only Utd midfield coverage needed (given Evans and Roonpig)

Personally staying well clear of Nani/Young...certainty with SAF is a rarity!

I've not really put much time yet into planning for GW35 and 36, but on the face of it, why would someone opt to not field a full 11 in GW34 in order to have more players for GW36? It only makes sense for a player you want to captain in GW36 (to get x4 points), and for Bolton players who play the extra game (Villa also play an extra game but it's in GW34 - they don't miss it).

Surely, there's a strong argument for having a player 99% certain to start GW34 + 36 than potentially be rested for one game in a double GW.

By fielding 11 in GW34, you also have a free transfer or two to bring in DGW players to supplement those on your bench, safe in the knowledge they haven't picked up an injury/lost form in GW33 to 35.

    Am I missing something?

I'm not saying a point hit or two isn't worth it, but the priority has to be 11 for GW34 to earn you the points to take the hit(s)?

Agreed - take 11 for GW34 with bench full of DGWers, then if desperate take the points hits to get more in but don't see the need as long as you get in the big hitters for GW36

    In theory

4 DGWers on the bench for GW34 with 11 for GW34

Use the 2FT's to get DGWers = 6 DGWers without a hit.

Bogdan as he's at home. Both Bolton and Newcastle are likely to concede, to be fair.

I'm expecting both to concede but Bogdan's standard saves bonus point is swaying me that way.
