[sbu_large_image] The Knee Jerk

The man’s a machine. Nine goals in eight games have lifted Papiss Cisse to the verge of essential status in Fantasy terms, as those who are yet to jump on board the bandwagon are left fumbling and fretting on the curb side, wondering if they’ve left it too late to buy a ticket.

Today’s brace at the Liberty cut open on of the most heralded defences in the league – Swansea had conceded just 12 goals at home this season. That had no bearing on Cisse, who went about his job of condemning Brendan Rodgers’ side to their third straight defeat with ruthless precision.

His first was a scalpel of a finish to Michel Vorm’s far post, the Dutchman’s despairing drive and fingertips unable to stop Cisse’s drive finding the corner. The second was simply sublime – an improbable angled chip over Vorm’s hapless gaze after Yohan Cabaye’s through-ball had appeared to have caught under Cisse’s feet. He shuffled, rearranged and demonstrated exquisite balance to execute one of the smartest finishes of the season. A bit special, as Alan Pardew will doubtless say.

Those who jumped on Cisse off the back of his consecutive two-goal hauls at West Brom and against Liverpool will be glowing. That leaves the rest of us pondering just how long we can afford to ignore the seemingly unstoppable form of the Senegal striker. Already, over 4,000 Fantasy managers have transferred Cisse in this afternoon – his price has jumped 0.6 in two Gameweeks but we can only expect that to keep climbing.

Gameweek 33 shifts struggling Bolton into Cisse’s sights – a chilling thought. There’s a sniff of a chance that Pardew will be tempted to rotate his resources for that game but surely Cisse’s momentum is undeniable, surely he’ll be given the opportunity to cut the Trotters open?

After that, Cisse and Newcastle face a blank but that’s followed by another temping home encounter with Stoke, with a double fixture in Gamweek 36 that has the Magpies face trips to Wigan and Chelsea.

The opponents hardly matter. Right now, you can throw out the form book and almost disregard fixtures. Alan Pardew has his side playing to their strengths. Resolute in defence with Hatem Ben Arfa providing a drive and spark from midfield, whilst up front Cisse is the executioner supreme. How can we resist?

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

On GWs like this i wish they bring the Manual Subs like in the UCLFL to the FPL..

All the regulars would be deservedly rewarded..

Anyway. instead of knee jerking Cisse in.. im going ahead with my plan to get Bendy in for Jelavic and staright to the bench.. and then its him and sess for GW34..

And finally Bendybus > Cisse Gw35/36.. sound good ???

i wouldn't really consider it a kneejerk to get cisse in, he has scored a brace in his last 3 gaes after all. i'd say a kneejerk is more for the 1 week wonders, cisse has proven he can produce the goods consistently

dempsey has chelsea at the cottage in 33 where walcott has wolves away

what you guys think - bring in now or keep dempsey for one more week

Dempsey to Walcott GW33. All the cool kids are doing it.

Unless money seriously is tight though I'd leave off that move until Sunday night as Walcott has been known to pick up the odd injury or three in the past.

Let him get through the Citeh game unscathed first and then transfer away!

As a Surman owner I'm off loading.

Incredible rotation risk and Norwich have folded up their tents for the season now. Getting McClean in. Can always bench him at £5m and not worry about that at all, but he has far greater potential to score well in GW34 than Surman has.

And, let's face it, if you're going to be shorthanded in GW34( like most of us will be) then you're better off having a guy in your team whose likely to get you a goal or assist than one who is likely to be benched completely or get a 1 pt cameo role.

    Evening lads,

I just got an idea, inspired by the Silva out strategy previously. The math is like this. With Pappis going so crazy, I am suddenly a fan of a front line RVP, Cisse, Ade. That means no place for Rooney. Well there goes the catch. Can my 3rd Utd player be Rafael?

    Reasons:
    - Price: Rooney = 13.0, Rafael 5.4
    - Form: Rooney = 5.2, Rafael 5.8
    - looking closely of the fixtures I think that this time is the last time that I am considering captaining Rooney meaning he can't do that much damage.
    - Ownership: Rooney = 37.7%, Cisse 9.3%, Rafael 1.1% so that means serious potential for rise in the ranking.

Well imagine Cisse and Rafael will probably match Rooney score or even outscore him IMO really and you are getting 2 players for a price for one. Rafael + Cisse = 5.4m + 7.3m = 12.7m

Please think and say what you mean. When I've done this kind of math regarding Silva I was slagged and it was shown at the end that I was right, so please make your judgement on facts. Plus Rooney could not play all the games till the end because they could wrap the title. Cisse will play all of them.
    Thanks,

I quite like the idea but I see two problems:

      1) Will Rafael play every game?

Interesting, if you don't have Rooney then look elsewhere, I caught him at £12.1m so was pretty lucky but he isn't worth £13.0m, i'd rather have Dave and Ade and look elsewhere.

Depends on when you are going to drop Rooney. If we have the title, then wont Rafeal also be under threat at RB from Smalling/Jones? Rafeal is getting a run because he is in form and he is backed up by Valencia. Should we win the title, then SAF is free to put Smalling/Jones or Fabio at RB.

Well actually I need Rafael only for GW 34 for the blank. All the other fixtures I could live if he is benched. I think to do it this week

GW 33 Cisse vs Bol at home > Rooney vs Wigan away IMO.
GW 34 The risk is in this week actually Rooney against Villa vs Rafael vs Villa
GW 35 Cisse vs Stk > Rooney vs Eve
GW 36 Cisse double GW wig, che > rooney at city

        Reasonable enough?

Mixed bag today did the crabby Ba to Cisse which payed off but played Vorm over Krul, anyway I think next Gameweeks captain could be crucial to me winning my mini league so many options, so who are people favouring?

After bps Cisse will be on 50 points in 4 GW's. That's insane!

Is it too late to get him now without being a sheep?

With the blank I think it is.

I'm really frustrated about not getting him weeks ago when Ba was playing deep and Cisse was the most advanced striker. Would be in the top 1k and winning my work mini-league by now.

Yeah it's decisions like that which make all the difference. Never fear though there is always a differential out there somewhere. My rival did Ba > Cisse today. I'm not copying him on principle. Bendtner is the man for me.

Get him in now! He is the best 3rd striker you can take into a DGW and he will prob outcore the 2nd DGW striker Ade too.

Well, I've knee-jerked Cisse in now. Can't ignore him any longer. Now I have to decide who to bench next week of the 'super 8':
Siggy (qpr) Walcott (wol) Bale (NOR) Valencia (wig) Dempsey (CHE)
Cisse (BOL) Rooney (wig) RVP (wol)

Not easy - this was why I really wanted to avoid "having" to get Cisse.

Feels wrong, given his home average. I might just be deserting Dempsey from now though, despite Tosey's campaign for people to keep him. I feel bad. Dempsey -> Sess in 34 is now on the cards for me though.

Yay or Nay to this plan? (2 FT)

    For GW33
    Suarez/Dempsey -> Cisse/Walcott

    For GW34
    Kelly->Lescott?

Gives me this 11 for GW34

    Mig (Krul)
    Verm/Lescott/Evans/Caulker
    Siggy/Walcott/Valencia/McClean (Bale)
    RVP/Rooney (Cisse)

Depends on your plan for dgw 35/36. How many do u want and how many hits u r planning. Look at previous ffs article by sir paulos re the dgw's

I'll keep the FT in 35 so i have 2 in 36 and will also take a hit to make it 7 DGW players. Should hopefully be enough.

Anyone else starting to care less about fantasy as the season is starting to come to a close?
I feel like a mid table team with not much to play for.

Ahead of my rival by more than 100pts so I'm just focusing on overall rank now which isn't as entertaining.

yes, unless he is really firing at the time. but it must be done for a differential, plus united fixtures are a lot worse than others at that time. i am planning to do ade in 35/36
