The Easter eggs are only half-eaten, yet here we are again. With the Gameweek 33 deadline approaching at 11.30am tomorrow, it’s time to roll out another XI from the Scout Picks Selection Committee. Newcastle and United are firmly backed, while Everton also feature strongly in light of the Toffees’ recent form:

Tim Krul gets the nod between the posts ahead of tomorrow’s home showdown with Bolton. The Magpies keeper has been in sparkling form, conceding just a single goal in the last four Gameweeks and, with the Trotters failing to score in four of their last five on the road, a clean for Alan Pardew’s side is more than a distinct possibility.

This afternoon’s 2-0 triumph over QPR added yet another clean sheet to Jonny Evans’ recent tally. That’s five in a row now for Evans as United’s defence continues to prove profitable for Fantasy managers. A trip to Wigan should hold no fear for Sir Alex Ferguson’s side and with the Latics scoring just four times in the last six at the DW, Evan’s looks likely to pick up the points yet again.

With just a single goal conceded in their last five at Goodison, Everton’s recent home form has proven to be particularly reliable. No surprise, then, to see us give Leighton Baines the nod ahead of a home clash against Sunderland. While the Black Cats have produced the goods at home, they have failed to score in three of their last six on the road and, with set-piece and penalty duties also capable of boosting the left-back’s returns, Baines’ owners will be confident going into tomorrow afternoon’s match.

A home game with West Brom brings Vincent Kompany into this Gameweek’s line-up. City will clearly be devastated after today’s result but their Etihad form is unlikely to be troubled by Roy Hodgson’s side; the Baggies have netted just once in their last three on the road and looks set to afford City the perfect pick-me-up in light of their Emirates defeat.

With Steven Pienaar cup-tied for Everton’s semi-final with Liverpool, the South African looks certain to turn out in Monday’s Goodison encounter with Sunderland. Pienaar has shone in recent weeks, notching back-to-back assists in Everton’s last two league outings. The Black Cats will provide stern opposition for David Moyes’ men but we feel Pienaar could be the key figure, particularly if the Everton boss rests striker Nikica Jelavic ahead of the weekend meet with Liverpool.

Having scored in his last two league outings, Theo Walcott drew a blank in the 1-0 win over City but nonetheless remains pivotal as the Gunners look to seal third place. Like so many midfielders in the Gameweek, Walcott could suffer from rotation for the trip to Wolves on Wednesday but with Arsenal playing their Gameweek 34 fixture next Monday, there’s every chance that Walcott will be given another opportunity to add to his recent goal tally when Arsenal pay visit to the basement club.

Gylfi Sigurdsson is a must for a Swansea away day. Having scored all six of his league goals on the road, the graceful Icelander remains a top Fantasy target for the Swans’ visit to Loftus Road. Sigurdsson maintained his recent form with another display bristling with goal threat in Friday’s defeat to Newcastle and, despite drawing a blank, showed enough for us to back him to keep his start for the R’s clash and provide the cutting edge for Brendan Rodgers’ side.

Clint Dempsey’s brace at Bolton will have frustrated many Fantasy managers, having previously provided such disappointment on the road. Shifted to a striker’s role in the absence of ankle injury victim Pavel Pogrebnyak, Dempsey’s two strikes proved devastating and take him into the local derby with Chelsea brimming with confidence. With Pogrebnyak still struggling to overcome his knock, Dempsey looks set to lead the line and the threat for Martin Jol’s side in Monday’s clash.

Bolton’s visit to the Sports Direct Arena hands Papiss Cisse another chance to plunder the Fantasy points. The Newcastle forward’s incredible run of six goals in the last three games has Fantasy managers queuing up in their thousands to get in on the action – a price rise of 0.8 since Gameweek 30 is indicative of the show of faith. With the Magpies gunning for their fifth straight win, Owen Coyle’s side have an unenviable task ahead tomorrow, given Cisse’s irresistible form.

When you’ve gone four games without a goal, the best possible remedy is a showdown with Wolves. Robin Van Persie and on-form Arsenal now roll up to Molineux and, with the midlands outfit shipping an average of three goals per game since Terry Connor’s installation, the Gunners skipper is surely set to profit once again on Wednesday evening.

Wayne Rooney’s trip to Wigan is impossible to overlook. While Cisse has been lauded for his form, the United forward has been almost as reliable, notching nine times in his last nine games as the champions edge ever-closer to retaining their title. With an eight-point gap now established at the top, Sir Alex Ferguson will be determined to go for goals once again – United have averaged three goals per game over their last five away fixtures and the Latics are likely to afford them plenty chances for further attacking returns.

While Peter Crouch is doing all he can to squeeze his lofty frame onto England’s Euro 2012 plane, Stoke have scored just two goals in their last six away league outings. With that in mind, and having seen Villa defend like lions at Anfield, we’ve opted for James Collins for the defensive role on the bench. Always a magnet for impressive performance statistics, Collins will be integral to keeping Stoke at arms length on Monday night.

QPR’s Adel Taarabt claims the place on our bench for the midfield role. The Moroccan has come to the fore in recent home matches and with Djibril Cisse still suspended, Mark Hughes will likely look to Taarabt to lend his influence to QPR’s ailing attack as they scrap for points against Swansea.

Steve Kean shifted Junior Hoilett back out to the flank for the trip to the Hawthorns and duly saw his side slip to defeat. With Liverpool due at Ewood Park on Tuesday, Kean will surely look to renew Hoilett’s partnership with Yakubu against a Liverpool side with just one clean sheet in their last eight. Both Hoilett and Yakubu offer value, then, but we prefer the trickery and FPL price tag of the influential Hoilett for our bench role.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

So I think I've found out what move my rival did and it boils down to -
Bale, CisseX2(If I captain him), Verm, Begovic, Simpson Vs Walcott, RVP(If he captains him, he probably will), Suarez, Krul, BAE, Williamson + 10 points.
Who will win? since he's 10 ahead he's 70 - 30 imo, should I captain Cisse as a differential or stick to RVP?

    MAny thanks.

Ryo + Skrtel > Walcott + Cualker for a 4 point hit is a definite possibility for me in GW 34, a midfield of Bale, Dempsey, Sessegnon, Walcott and Valencia would be awesome. I can only so it if there are no price rises or falls before midday tmrw tho, is that likely?

I'm going RVP, simply because I can't choose between them and when RVP scores big it's bigger then when Rooney scores big. He's got more points over the season and the captain's poll rates RVP higher so more people should have him as captain.. thus you will be losing out to less people if you are wrong.

I m thinking the same, but my h2h opponent has Rooney as captain, that's what i am bothered about... Also am thinking of playing Mccelan ahead of enrique... is that a good choice?
\Now that Agger is back , may be Liverpool can pull off a clean sheet...

McClean ahead of Enrique is a good shout. I would be selling Enrique tbh, Liverpool are muck. As for your h2h, there are different ways to look at that one. I usually ignore what my competitors are doing and go with whoever I think will score the most points. But having said that Rooney could very well be that guy, it's a good fixture and I'm still thinking about changing my mind and captaining him.

Here's a general game philosophy question that deals with my question from the previous page...

when you guys aren't getting the results from your team, and the disappointment and frustration increases, do big punts and points hits actually make the pain go away? Or does playing it safe and being proud of your ability to stick with a plan work better?

I've taken over 120 points as hits this season.

Still sitting at 20k overall, so it's not bad.

I enjoy the way I play, I rarely have a team I dislike, or players I don't want.

In all seriousness though, it is best to avoid them - next season I will steer clear of hits and take it seriously, go for a top 1k.

I'm way below you, but this has been my first season and I'm still learning.. Point hits do work.. I have had great weeks after 12 point hits as well.. But they need to be calculated and not kneejerky or rash..

Random punts and point hits feel good while you are executing them but result in pain over the course of a few weeks. Point hits have only ever worked for me if I'm screwed with injuries or there's a double GW. Punts only work if you have a standard team with no differentials. Point hits are less damaging at the beginning of the season since you pick up value gains and the benefit from your increased cash is spread out over a longer period. Punts work better at the end of the season when you are in an all or nothing mood and don't really care if you drop in rank. You need discipline at the start of the season. That's been my experience with it anyway. Stick to the plan, unless the plan is crap.

I'm completely on the fence about holding bale. I think his value might take a hit since people will react to that "injury', and his form isn't exactly insane. I don't think it's worth a hit to ditch him though. I'm holding him since I'll have 4 midfielders good to play that week. But I would certainly consider taking a hit to drop skrtel, all you need is any old donkey that will play 90 minutes and you're only losing 2 points at worst.

good point I suppose. I don't have the luxury of 4 GW 34 midfielders, is my problem. Even if I took a hit to get rid of skrtel, it only means a 4-3-2 at best.....surely 3-4-2 would be better?

Yep not an easy decision. Walcott is a good purchase right now IMO. But whoever you sell for the blank GW you'll be missing out on for the DGW. Look at spurs's run in, it's hard to justify selling bale for that. I really don't know what I would do in your situation. Maybe just leave it??

Here's an idea actually: Ba is sitting there doing absolutely nothing whether he plays or not. Ditch him for GW34 for the best nailed on starter you can find, and then swap whoever that is for Cisse as soon as you can.

I've o lt taken 2 pts hits this season. On reflection I should have taken more. Points hits increase the role luck plays, but the rewards can be greater than doing nothing. I think
More than 10 hits in a season is too many. What I usually do is look at the top 5 or so I'm the world and see how hits have affected them... It's a good guide. Haven't done it yet this season.

Morning. Have you recovered from the shock of seeing your epic bench? Simpson and Kelly were on mine. I also transferred out dempsey for Walcott last week. Theo has two weeks to make up the 12 pts that idiot move cost me.

            Got 2 FT's.

I was hoping to save one of them till GW35 when I could stack up on DGW'ers, but now feel the need to us one on getting Walcott in and the other on getting shot of Richards.

Have no confidence in him playing in GW34 now anyway, let alone him playing this week. And, to be fair, I'm leaving City players well alone now.

Tough choice there Jim. Hard to bench the front 3 who tend to get the boni. I think you need to take a view on the fixtures and form to a certain degree.

It's between Siggy and Bale for me but with no degree of confidence.

I'm hoping Bale doesn't play tbh. Will mean that my having a strong sub might actually pay off for once! I'm currently on Bale, especially as the stats say Siggy played really well against Newc even if he only got 2 points.

Siggy has been getting great stats all the way through. I think you may be saved anyway as I can see rotation kicking in so whoever you bench will probably play a part. Nice team.

Thanks - yes, I could really do with any rotation happening this week rather than next...! Thinking of Bale -> Sess next week so I can field 10 for 34. Worried that 3 of these are Man Utd though, who may rotate if they have the title wrapped up.

SUN players are useful now with their fix. Not sure about Utd - Rooney has always played in seasons past in similar circumstances.

                cheers lads.
strange thing, early season i logged on FPL everyday, changed my team a thousand times, made 20k transfers (draft) a week but the results was bad. From I dont care much about FPL, boring, just log on at weekend, make transfers without long term plan, rank is improved 😀

No this season has been particulary strange, plus your team's foundation was already laid so it doesn't require many changes now.

If Bale's a 'major doubt' isn't it worth just starting him - surely he'll either not play at all or come through and start?

            Please rate my plan:
            Krul (Mignolet)
            Evans Simpson BAE (Enrique, Naylor)
            Siggy Walcott Valencia Dempsey (McClean)
            RvP Rooney Suarez

            Will field 11 for GW34, playing a 4-4-2.
Players to keep for the DGWs: Suarez, Dempsey, BAE (Krul)
2 FT this week, will use one for Enrique -> Sagna (who will take the first bench slot)
            GW34 do Simpson -> Turner/Bridge
Then use 3 transfers to get two from (Torres/Ade, Mata/Bale)+Baines for a total of 7 DGWP:s
