The sixth run of the Paddy Power Cup enters Gameweek 35 with just 16 Fantasy managers left in the hunt. Having successfully navigated Round Five (results right here), the Last 16 draw has been made and the eight fixtures are as follows…

1Bubba FettVs.Sarnab-Wazzagoal
2OptimusVs.SiggySongOxSessDemps
3stumanchuuVs.DestroyersofWorlds
4mchVs.jamie1974
5fredwesthamVs.ajay_kl
6DrDVs.Mowgli
7dannnVs.Sporting Abeergut
8FitzuationVs.Rickys Army

Having eliminated the 29th ranked fuml_akimbo in the fifth round, fredwestham has his reward with a plum tie against the lowest ranked manager left in the competition – 62,699th placed ajay_kl.

It’s now jamie1974 that takes the mantle as the highest-ranked contender in the tournament. The 702nd placed fantasy manager is in the tie of the round as well, matched up against mch, who finished the Members Paddy Power Cup II in third place.

Good luck to the final 16 fantasy managers competing in the Paddy Power Cup VI. I’ll bring you the results shortly after the Gameweek 35 fixtures have been decided.

Right lads, any help with team? I know ye are all sick to death of seeing teams at this stage 😛

    Krul, Mig

    Evans, Verm, Santon, Kelly, Caulker

    Sess, Sggy, Walcott, Valencia, Dempsey

    RVP, Rooney, Cisse

2 FT and 1,3 in the bank

Thinking of doing Mig -> Given this week as a 1 week punt

Then Given & Walcott -> Friedel + Bale

    How does that look? 🙂

    Team is here;

    Friedel Mignolet
    Kompany Vermaelen Simpson Evans Caulker

So are all your others. You can't bench any of your strikers so that only leaves the mids.

I think Bale, Valencia, HBA and Dempsey are all more likely to score well than Siggy, Swansea have been quite poor recently and have nothing to play for whereas the likes of Bale, HBA and Valencia have everything to play for.

            Hba most probably.

            But agree not easy.

Other option is Valencia as he has Rooney as united attacking coverage.

I'd take HBA at home to a Stoke side with nowt to play for over Bolton away who are fighting for their lives.

Not to mention that HBA's a much better player.

But yes Siggy could do well, he's lucky in that respect, all 8 could get 10+.

It was a 4pt hit to get that, but it helps me next week too, with HBA, Dempsey, Bale and Cisse all playing twice.

And BAE and Krul and I will get someone else in for Sagna too!

Hi all, would be grateful for a few views on potential transfer plans (obv. nothing set in stone, just a plan), current team is below.

    Krul (Mignolet)
    Evans Kompany Simpson (Caulker, McAuley)
Bale Ben Arfa Valencia Walcott McClean
    Rooney RVP (Graham)

    A. 35. Walcott to Petrov
    36. Graham and Kompany to Ade and Kaboul (-4)
    37. McAuley and Ben Arfa to Verm and Moses (-4)

    B. 35. RVP to Ade
    36. Kompany to Kaboul
    37. McAuley and McClean to Verm and Moses (-4)

Which one do you prefer? Or any better options?
    Thanks

Drink driving bannan, playing for villa in a mediocre midfield with surprising competition, in a fpl game full of great , genuine pts prospects for his price. Hmmm... I wonder why he's not getting more acclaim.

I'm not saying why isn't everybody putting him in their team just wondered why he hasn't been mentioned by anybody as a sneaky punt - mainly the penalty taker with a DGW was what I was looking at.

This GW all boils down to whether Aguero rips Wolves a new one.

If Tevez does, it won't effect me, but if Aguero does, with only 8 points clear, I could be in the brown stuff.

All these hits/Rooney out/RVP out for either Tevez or Aguero...

Wolves are still going to field 11 men! Sure, they're not very good, but they're not gonna lie down and let City batter them.

Then City have Utd the week after.

Just seems like too many on here are putting all their eggs in City's basket, especially when there's a DGW on the horizon...

    Wolves 1 (Jarvis, 67) - 1 Manchester City (Y Toure, 23).

I'm scissor kicking my way into next week. Many disagree but I'm going to spend 4 points on RVP and Rooney to Aguero and Tevez. I see pure profit at Molineux.

Ade and/or Jelly then on the horizon for 36.

So tough to call, which is partly why I'm going for both.

Perhaps Tevez. If you keep him for 36 then he's going to want to rip Utd to shreds.

Not only do City need to win, but they need goals. I'm confident that both will play. If he doesn't and Wolves benefit, then Mancini's job could be all but lost.

                Tevez (C) is pencilled in.

Was gonna go Bale + Mata in next week, think it needs to be Bale and VDV now instead.

It's annoying as Chelsea's double is possibly the most tempting of the lot for me but no real candidates given the high chances of rotation.

Not sure why people are worried about rotation. The league is far more important than the cup final for Chelsea. If they've a chance of top 4 the strongest team will play every game.

Even if it was as easy as who would play more!

Tevez likely to hold a spot until the end of the season? Aguero's away form might be turning on.. and they have more home games anyways.

Such a toss up.. Thinking of Aguero (as he will pass as well, so at least assists)

I'm really starting to think RVP out instead of Rooney. This season is all about form. Man Utd are playing like a train coming downhill at this stage. And RVP has dried up completely. Chelsea may be tired, but they have form, confidence, team spirit...

The fixtures are just so nice though.. and he hasn't been playing that poorly.

Also, RvP is the only Arsenal coverage you need. They still have to fight to stay in top 3-4 don't they? That has to motivate him to some extent..

I already have 3 ManU players (which has been excellent), but only 1 Arsenal

I need to get Bendtner out and want to get Papiss in, but I need some funding (1.7m) and Verm is the only real source with the DGW in mind, so I am thinking of:
    Bendtner to Papiss
    Verm to Wheater

    Which would give me:

    Krul / Vorm
    McAuley / Wheater / BAE / Evans / Huth
    Rosicky / Bale / Valencia / Siggy / Dempsey
    Rooney / RVP / Papiss

Does that make sense or does anyone see a better way?

    Evans Verm Simpson (BAE)(Senderos)
    Valencia Dempsey Petrov Siggy (Walcott)
    RVP Rooney Cisse

Im currently 16 points ahead of ML rival.
My dilemma is that he has Kompany and Silva in his team (plus I would guess that Tevez/Aguero will be coming in this week)
Normally this wouldnt be a concern due to City having the Utd game the week after but he also still has his wildcard.

May take a 4 pointer to bring it up to 7.

Baines injury really makes Everton an unattractive prospect now. Liverpool will be playing not to get hurt for the cup final. Bolton do not appear to be worthy of investment anyway and Chelsea players look like having rotation issues.

Spurs have the best fixtures so they appear to be the only team worth tripling up on. Newcastle are another good one. Funnily enough, I think Stoke defenders may do well in this GW as they have 2 home games and might get a cleanie out of Everton.

Most people will have Dempsey for Fulham and possibly Kelly.

      7 r 8 is about right.

I have grown some gonads and decided to get a city striker. Last 16 of PP cup and chasing a 62pt deficit while trying to protect 45 and 81pts leads. Going for broke until end of season. I was thinking of going for Aguero because as a Utd fan I would be disgusted to feel happy that Tevez is scoring me FPL points. Anyone been in similar situations, not sure If i should let this influence my decision?

Dempsey also coming in, for Walcott or Valencia, yet to be confirmed.
