Mikel Arteta is out for the season with an ankle injury. Anderson and Paul Pogba won’t feature for United again this term, either. Yakubu and Junior Hoilett return to training for Blackburn, Harry Redknapp is sweating on the fitness of “four or five” players, while Brendan Rodgers hopes to give some of Swansea’s fringe players a run out before the campaign is over.

Mikel Arteta has been ruled out for the season with an ankle injury. Arsene Wenger revealed earlier today that the midfielder will not feature again after sustaining the problem early on in last Monday’s home defeat by Wigan, going on to say:

It is season over for him but he doesn’t need surgery, which is what we were scared of. So he will be out for six to eight weeks. It is an ankle problem but just a sprain.

The Gunners boss also revealed Abou Diaby will return to the squad, after taking part in a friendly on Wednesday evening. Francis Coquelin is back in full training after picking up a hamstring problem but will remain sidelined as he builds up his fitness.

Sir Alex Ferguson has ruled out both Anderson and Paul Pogba for the remainder of United’s campaign this morning. The former has failed to recover from a hamstring injury, while Pogba sustained an ankle injury in a reserve game earlier in the week and will miss his side’s title run-in.

Reports suggest Leighton Baines is expected to return to the Everton starting XI before the season is out. The left-back has been ruled out of this weekend’s trip to United but according to the Mail, he will be back in time for the final game of the season against Newcastle. The club have only confirmed he will be missing for tomorrow, though with doubts still hanging over his availability for next week’s double Gameweek against Fulham and Stoke, many plans are currently up in the air.

Blackburn pair Yakubu and Junior Hoilett returned to training yesterday as the pair look set to win their fitness race ahead of the visit of Norwich. Both were subbed off in last week’s 3-0 defeat at Swansea and were doubts with knee and hamstring problems respectively, but reports indicate they are on course for tomorrow’s crucial showdown with the Canaries, as Steve Kean looks to grab a vital three points as his side battle relegation. Gael Givet trained with the squad this week after being left out at the Liberty, with Kean suggesting he “wasn’t in the right frame of mind” to take part. With Grant Hanley likely to be out with an ankle injury, Givet looks set to come back into the first-team fold.

Brendan Rodgers has suggested he is set to hand a few of his fringe players some game time over the remaining four matches of the season. The Swansea boss has revealed he is looking to freshen things up, though with the Welsh club not yet mathematically safe, his tinkering may be set aside for another week – victory at Bolton tomorrow would ensure their survival, though. Intriguingly, reports also suggest that Rodgers is looking at a new 3-4-3 system for next season.

Alan Pardew has revealed he has no qualms with fielding Rob Elliot in tomorrow’s home clash with Stoke. The keeper is on standby to start after Tim Krul picked up a back problem in training and, with the Magpies conceding just a single goal in the last five Gameweeks, their manager is confident of Elliot’s ability to step up, should Krul prove to be unavailable.

I’m not concerned about Tim. Robbie Elliot will play if he doesn’t play – I wouldn’t blink about putting him in. He’s been brilliant at the training ground with all the extra work he’s done with our strikers and everybody else. He deserves to be in goal.

Harry Redknapp was somewhat cryptic in this morning’s press conference. The Spurs boss revealed he is waiting on the fitness of as many as “four or five” players ahead of the trip to QPR. Younes Kaboul and Niko Krancjar are definitely out for the London outfit, though; the duo have failed to recover from knee problems in time for the visit to Loftus Road.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

                  Yeah I reckon so, I only see this site as a few lads trying to help one another with their FF teams and have a laugh at the same time. If a different site provides something that they reckon will be useful they should share it. I have a bunch of FF sites that have been provided to me from this site by people but I always come back to here first, I use the others as a means of getting a different opinion sometimes.

      Yeah, he shouldn't really use the word "stats." Fantasy points (Goals/Assists/Bonus) aren't exactly cutting edge stats. Cisse has been delivering on very few shots on target. The actual stats scream "Regression to the Mean." Now excuse me, I'll be hiding behind my couch for the weekend.

      Bit basic to be honest. Makes no mention of regression to the mean for example. Which is quite likely to hit Cisse's output, although by no means certain! 🙂 he's currently averaging around goal a game (slightly more i think)

      His career total is just under 1 every 2 (still very respectable!) But even if he didnt score in the rest of the games this year he'd still be over his long term average (this is of course an over-simplification in itself)

    And one more thing:

    Does my new plans for GW 35 and 36, and 37 look nice?

    GW 35:Rooney>Aguero, already done

    For GW 36 I have 2FT and 1.9M in bank

    GW 36:RVP,Tony V,McAuley>Jelavic,Bale,Huth

    Will leave me with 6.5M in bank, enough for me to do this, for GW 37 I will do P Cisse>RVP, because Cisse has in GW 37 and 38 (mci,eve) and RVP has (NOR,wba)

    These plans will leave me with this team for the AMAZING DGW 36:

    Krul(che,wig)

    BAE(BLA,bol)-Caulker(WOL)-Huth(ARS,EVE)

    Dempsey(eve,liv)-Siggy(WOL)-Sessegnon(BOL)-Bale(BLA,bol)

    Aguero(MUN)-Jelavic(FUL,sto)-Cisse(che,wig)

    You likey? 😀

    I'm planning to go Valencia > Gerrard, Aguero > Cisse (as well as Collins > Kaboul, Silva > Mata) for next week's DGW, then reversing Gerrard > Valencia in GW37 and Cisse > Aguero in GW38.

    I've got the funds and the strategy to do this, and I'm closing in on first place in my mini league.

    Worth doing..?

    * = DGW

    (GW 35 team : Bogdan*, Williamson, Cahill, Collins*, Bale, Petrov*, Mata, Gerrard, RvP, Rooney, Cisse
    GW 36 team : Bogdan*, Williamson*, Cahill*, Kaboul*, Bale*, Petrov*, Mata*, Gerrard*, RvP, Rooney, Cisse*
    GW 37 team : Bogdan, Williamson, Cahill, Kaboul, Bale, Petrov, Mata, Valencia, RvP, Rooney, Cisse

                I reckon Newcastle will struggle against Stoke and they've got possible goals from all over the pitch. Petrov is more likely to be amongst it in my opinion. And he's on set-pieces.

                  That's a fair enough assessment, couldn't fault you on that. But it is Bolton. In the last 8 prem matches they've played they have scored 8 goals. In the past 16 GWs Petrov has started 14 of those matches. From those 14 matches he scored 2 points 9 times. 1 point once. 3 points once. 6 points twice and 9 points once.

    I really hope this doesn't come back to bite me hard on the backside, but my front 3 is now:

    Cisse Aguerro Rooney.

    You can guess which transfer I did and it's basically because:
    a) My rival has Aguero
    b) I think he'll do better over the next 4 weeks than every other forward, apart from Cisse.

      At the end of the day, it's very easy to do Rooney or Aguero > RVP if things blow up in our faces. It's a brave move but I hope it's the right one! Who are you captaining?

    Opinions on my side for DGW 36:

    Howard [Vorm]

    Cahill – BAE – Vermaelen [Enrique, Evans]

    Bale – Dempsey – Sigurdsson – Ben Arfa [Valencia]

    Jelavic – Tevez – Cisse

    It will cost me 12 points to put this side together. Replacing Rooney/Sess/McClean with Jelavic/Ben Arfa/ Dempsey. I think it’s worth it though, can see all three returning 4+ points

      No. You're dumping Sess and McClean who have Bolton at home, so in my opinion, you're dropping more than 12 points by doing that. It's a nice looking team, but you won't make up the hit imo

    Sessignon - Ekotto - Rangel

    Walcott - Dempsey - Siggy - Valencia
    Cisse - Tevez - RVP

      Well, just questioned it myself underneath 😛

      The defenders are right, but the question remains about Sess. He's playing Aston Villa and could well nick something, whereas Walcott and Valencia are playing solid teams. I'd say the way you have it is the safest way to go.

      In fact our teams are very similar! Good luck mate! 😉

    Actually a bit worried by this decision now. Could anyone shed some light on it please? 🙂

    Need to bench one of Valencia, Walcott and Sess.

    Currently have Sess sitting on the pine, but Aston Villa are pants, whereas the other 2 are playing very solid teams. Also Sess scored 12 last time he played Villa.

    What do ye reckon, who would you bench? Cheers lads

      I honestly don't think Walcott is going to return the way people seem to think he is this week. Chelsea are, if nothing else, solid at the back and break up the opposition's flow well. Defo play Valencia. With Baines injured it will be Neville filling in at left back, who is solid but slow. I expect Valencia to do some real damage here (despite me being a toffee!).

      I have Walcott and McClean. Still haven't decided who to bench. Statistics show that Sunderland is creating to few chances and that is the reason they are not scoring goals. I can see Sunderland not scoring in this one too.

      On the Walcott matter, hes been one of the most consistent players from 1st January, and returned TOP 5 midfielder points. Even tho he was really poor against Wigan, I still think his pace will prove worthy in Arsenal attacks against tired Chelsea defence.

      So I'm like 80% for Walcott and 20% McClean to play. Maybe Sess is more appealing than McClean, but I'd still be thinking the same. Plus, Sunderland doesn't have anything to play for. Villa however must gain few points. Arsenal will want to win against Chelsea to prove that game against Wigan was just a dad day...

        I can see Everton keeping Man U's scoring down, and Chelsea doing likewise to Arsenal. I was all set to give it Dempsey before Wigan starting reinventing themselves as a top 4 side. If he plays 90, I fancy Yak for at least a goal.

    Geez - I am stuck. (esp with Baines who may or may not play any game in the rest of this season)
    I guess these are the options over the next 2 GWs. 2FTs - so have to use one this GW and probably just carry over the other for next GW.

    A: Valencia->Ben Arfa
    B: Valencia->Bale/VdV
    C: Walcott->Ben Arfa
    D: Walcott->Bale/VdV
    E: McAuley->Huth
    F: McAuley->BAE
    G: Baines->BAE (if he is ruled out)
    H: Rooney->Aguero/Tevez
    I: RvP->Auguero/Tevez

    Am probably looking at A, D & F atm. (Bale in the D)
    Look ok? (assuming I don't take a hit)

    Do ppl think Valencia is worth keeping after this GW? - I won't be playing him during the DGW (as I've enough dgw players) then I'm thinking if united beat/draw City they'll have the league wrapped up and he'll get rested/rotated,

    Basically I was set to do McClean to Bale, now I'm thinking doing Valencia to Bale next week, sound good?

    A: Rooney + Mclean >>> Dempsey + Cisse....
    B: Suarez + Mclean >>>> Dempsey + Cisse
    C: Suarez + Valencia + Nasri >>> Dempsey + Barfa + Augero for a 4 point hit.

    Am leaning for option B but just worried i dont have enough City cover with only nasri and who is better for gw35 and 36 between barfa and cisse?

    If one's to go, it's gonna be Rooney. If one's to come in, it's gotta be Aguero, right? Players rarely get consecutive hat-tricks, right? Done or no done-done? Another option would be Sess to Yaya. Or HBA. Or no transfer. These are the decisions that plague us, n'est pas? Nes. Pa.
