Wayne Rooney grabs a double as United stutter in an eight-goal thriller with Everton. Nikica Jelavic and Steven Pienaar pop up on Fantasy radars ahead of the Toffees’ double Gameweek, Sergio Aguero notches on the road for the second week running, while Liverpool’s woeful league form continues with a home defeat by West Brom.

Wayne Rooney
Despite a run of eight goals in his previous five home appearances, the United forward was sold by more than 24,000 Fantasy managers ahead of yesterday’s clash with former club Everton. Rooney made them regret that move, bagging a brace (and the maximum bonus) against the Toffees to take his tally to 26 goals for the campaign, equalling his best ever Premier League haul. With many Fantasy managers now pondering a reshuffle of their front line ahead of double Gameweek 26, both Rooney and Robin Van Persie are the main men most likely to be moved on, though with Rooney scoring six in the last seven Gameweeks compared to the Dutchman’s one, the United man is clearly the man in form of the two. With his contribution key to his side’s chances of retaining the title, many will be thinking twice over selling him, with next week’s crucial trip to City followed by (SWA, sun).

Danny Welbeck
The forward picked up only his second double-figure points haul of the campaign yesterday, after scoring and providing a pair of assist against the Toffees. Welbeck has now overtaken Javier Hernandez in the Fantasy rankings – priced at 6.5 in comparison to the Mexican’s 9.9 he has proven to be a decent cut-option and is the top-ranked United attacking player in terms of value over the course of the season so far.

Nani
Having climbed off the bench to notch against Villa last time out, Nani was handed a starting role against the Toffees, with Ashley Young only making the bench after picking up a knock against his former club. The winger served a reminder of the form that saw him last season’s top-scoring Fantasy Premier League (FPL) player by grabbing a goal and a couple of assists in yesterday’s 4-4 thriller – a worrying sign for Young’s 10% Fantasy owners, with the Portuguese star staking a strong claim for a starting role on the left for next Monday’s visit to the Etihad.

Nikica Jelavic
Yesterday’s brace at Old Trafford is set to get the bandwagon roaring ahead of Everton’s pair of upcoming fixtures. Priced at a bargain 5.9, with an ownership of under 3%, the Croatian looks an outstanding differential candidate ahead of the home game with Fulham and trip to Stoke. Jelavic has now scored six goals in six starts for the Toffees and, with a match away to Wolves in Gameweek 37, the schedule ahead looks more than a little kind.

Steven Pienaar
The on-loan midfielder continued his impressive recent form since returning to Merseyside in January with a goal in yesterday’s draw. Pienaar has now produced attacking returns in each of his last four Gameweeks, with two goals and three assists helping him average over eight points per game. The Toffees seems an altogether different side going forward with the likes of Pienaar and Jelavic in David Moyes’ first XI – they have scored 14 goals between Gameweek 30-35, equalling their tally from the previous fourteen matches. While Marouane Fellaini also caught the eye with a goal and assist contribution, Pienaar’s consistency looks the strongest route into the Toffees midfield with the double Gameweek in mind.

Everton Defence
Moyes sprung a surprise in light of Leighton Baines’ hamstring absence, naming Sylvain Distin at left-back, with Phil Jagielka and Johnny Heitinga in the centre of defence. While Tony Hibbert picked up the points with a pair of assists, it’s worth noting that he had provided just two over his previous 27 appearances, suggesting he’ll struggle to replicate such form. At 4.6, nevertheless, he looks a decent cut-price route into a defence that had conceded in only one of their previous four, prior to their visit to Old Trafford.

Sergio Aguero and Carlos Tevez
With many expecting a Molineux goalfest, the pair were each drafted in by 70,000 Fantasy managers ahead of the trip to Wolves. In the end, Aguero’s owners had to settle for a single goal – his fifth in the last three Gameweeks. The 2-0 win, combined with United’s draw, puts City’s title bid firmly back in their own hands – three wins will almost certainly now clinch the title, given their superior goal difference to United’s. With this in mind, owners of Aguero have a real dilemma ahead of the double Gameweek – given that he’s failed to produce attacking returns in just two of his fourteen Etihad appearances, there’s every chance he’ll get amongst the points against United in a week’s time and, with a trip to Newcastle followed by a home clash with QPR, the potential for points looks promising as City go all-out for points. Tevez picked up an assist, bringing his points haul to 31 since returning to the first-team in Gameweek 35 and surely looks likely to continue against his former club next week, with suspension-free Mario Balotelli likely to be consigned to the bench.

Samir Nasri
While David Silva failed to flatter and lasted just 58 minutes, the former Arsenal man clinched victory with his side’s second and picked up the maximum bonus. Nasri has cemented a place in Roberto Mancini’s first team over the past few months, missing only one of the last nine games due to injury. His recent home form has taken an upturn – with a nine point return in each of his last two at the Etihad, he could be an overlooked differential over the remaining three games, with those two home fixtures against United and QPR to follow.

Peter Odemwingie
West Brom may have only scored two goals over the last couple of Gameweek, but the Nigerian has played a significant part. Odemwingie grabbed the only goal of the game at Anfield as Roy Hodgson recorded back-to-back 1-0 wins – he also provided the assist for Graham Dorrans last time out in the home win over QPR. While the Baggies may be safe from the drop, they are proving to be a reliable source of points and, with Villa and Bolton up next, are afforded further opportunity to produce before a tricky final day home clash with Arsenal.

Liverpool Form
With Daniel Agger back in the starting line-up, Kenny Dalglish rolled out his first-choice back-four for the visit of West Brom, suggesting rotation may not be his main concern ahead of the double Gameweek and FA Cup Final. The likes of Luis Suarez and Andy Carroll also started, with the Reds boss confirming Steven Gerrard missed out altogether as nothing more than a precautionary measure. Their woeful league form continued, though, and, with one clean sheet and two wins in the last 10 Gameweeks, many Fantasy managers will be reluctant to load up on their assets ahead of the upcoming pair of matches against Norwich and Fulham.

      The problem with Chelsea players is that they could well be rested in the 2nd game of the week due to FA cup commitments.

      I'd also be wary of getting rid of RVP. He's too good a player for his goal drought to continue in my opinion,

        so you're going to judge a player based on one game (where he still got an assist) when the 2 previous fixtures he scored 4?

        I know getting a million double gameweek players is the flavor of the month, but i'm keeping the selfish c*nt in my team.

    Throwing a crazy thought into this mix. For the DGW noone is talking about Drogba. Two home games and depending on Tuesday night’s game they could be busting everything for that top four place. Opponents are QPR and Newcastle, two toughies, but isn’t every game now?

      I'm steering clear of Chelsea to be honest. Only Cech is free of rotation and I already have Krul. Besides, even when their players are getting game time, none of them are getting consistent returns, they are sharing the goals and assists round.

        Confirmed where? It's also been said that Redknapp said he'll never play for Tottenham again. As far as that's concerned, unless i read a proper interview with him on a credible, legitmate source (Sky Sports as opposed to Goal), i'm not going to believe it.

            I did Walcott & Adebayor > Petrov & Tevez (C) for a 4 point hit last week, so no.

            I'm on my wildcard and right now i'm considering a Defoe punt. vDV has came out to say even if Spurs outside the top 4 he still wants to stay so with his dedication it might just be a straight swap of having him instead of Adebayor - makes sense.

                If you want to read what vDV said. If Adebayor is indeed out, i also think he'll be played further forward because Defoe and Saha aren't exactly target men and would be well isolated up there on their own. I can't see vDV dropping as deep as he has been anyway.

          In the article that was in the FFS tweets. Arry said something like Ade had an injury but should be OK for the next game. Its fairly common for players to be given a 1 game internal punishment and for it to be reported as injury.

        Thx. Bogdan has WBA home fixture in 37 and is cheap, I'll take the save points if nothing else, didn't think it was worth spending more on a keeper for 1 GW, rather spend the dosh on FTs for 37/38.

        Cabaye over Barfa, really? Cahill rotated more than band-aid-boy Terry, really? Discuss.

        Disagree, less chance of rotation all other things equal with defenders for DGW. Thought about going 5-3-2 actually, but don't want to bench anyone else in that team and don't want to sell JEvans for a big loss.

      That said, they look decent transfers (apart from maybe TonyV, who i'd want vs. Swansea) so up to you to take the risk or not. I suppose you should get at least 8 of those 12 points back in 2x appearance points....!

    Questionn for people.

    Holding onto a 20 point lead and I've aleady made 2 free transfers by bringing in Mata and Cabaye. The 2 people behind me hold a forward line of jelavic, aguero and rooney. The other Rooney , Cisse, Aguero

    Current team is :

    -Friedal-
    -BAE- Cahill - Lescott- (Taylor on the bench)
    -Siggy- Cabaye- Mata - Sinclair ( Valencia bench )
    -Ade- Aguero - RVP

    Obviously with the news of Ade being left out and the team in all sorts of trouble I've become concerned.

    I'm happy to take a -8 point hit to see me through the double week and not run the risk of missing the DGW.

    My forward options would be to drop RVP and Ade to bring in Cisse and Jelavic, drop Ade and Sinclair to bring in VDV and Jelavic..

    Thoughts?

      Ade & Cabaye > BArfa & Cisse/Jelly.

      Should have got BArfa in instead of Cabaye - BArfa plays further forward plus Cabaye's 2 goals this week were an aberration and BArfa has looked sensational recently.

    Having read todays earlier posts, do we have to assume that the Ade reign is over or is it all a bit vague at this stage !!

    2FTs. I am probably looking at the first two and then maybe a 4 point hit for one of the last 2.
    Maybe a pretty standard question. If not, are they ok?

    Valencia->Bale
    Walcott->Pienaar
    Surman->HBA
    RvP/Rooney->Jelavic

    Who would you rather have?

    A) Pienaar + Terry or…

    B) Mata/ VDV + defender costing less than 5.3 (e.g ShawX/ Hibbert/ Gallas)?

    Dads:

    Was planning on getting a trike for my daughter's 3rd birthday but I'm wondering if it's probably better to go with a bike with stabilisers. She's pretty tall for her age so I think it shouldn't be a problem. What gee reckon. I've checked on the net and 12" seems to be ok but I just don't want it to be lying idle for half a year if it's too big. Any past experience out there?

      How is her balance? Get her to stand on one leg for a while ...

      I'd probably get the bike. Chances are she probably wont even use it that much anyway, so at least with the bike it has longevity.

      And until then, she also has a big box she can play with instead of the actual present. 😀

      I left it too late to get a bike for my eldest (now 7)....really tough the older they get. I say get in early and get the bike. If it has stabilizers then its practically a trike anyway...it'll last longer.

      That's brilliant lads thanks a million. It's definitely the more logical choice. Good tip Doos, I'll be so tempted to tip her over when she tries to stand on it 😀

    Bog (Mig)
    Caulker, Kelly (doubt), ShawX (Clichy, Evans)
    Siggy, Bale, Demps, McClean (Valencia)
    Aguero, Rooney, RVP

    2 FT. Already had a big of feedback, from which the most appealing was Peinaar for McClean and Cisse for Aguero.

    I can't deny Cisse's form is great, BUT most of his returns are against poorer or under-performing teams with the exception perhaps of Swansea. Nothing against Arsenal, Sunderland or Spurs (when they were playing better). He has a difficult 3 fixtures coming up.

    Would it be insanity to bring in Peinaar and Jelly over Peinaar and Cisse?
