Richard Dunne returns to training for Aston Villa. James Collins is almost definitely out for the midlanders’ game with Bolton, though Gabby Agbonlahor faces a late fitness test. Mark Davies is a doubt for the Trotters. Arsene Wenger looks to Abou Diaby to solve the Gunners’ midfield problems, while Wigan could be faced with a striker shortage for their last three games of the season…

Alex McLeish received some positive news on the injury front earlier today, as Richard Dunne returned to training for Villa. The centre-half has failed to feature since Gameweek 25 after sustaining a shoulder injury in the 1-0 home defeat to former club City but is on course for a comeback prior to the end of the season. The Villa boss revealed earlier today:

It’s good news regarding Richard. He has rejoined the group for training today. If he doesn’t make the game at West Brom this weekend, he should be ready for the Tottenham match. With a guy like Dunnie, and with what the modern day physical trainers and medical people do, the aim is to try and get the player up to speed so he can go straight back into the side. There should be plenty of preparation work for Dunnie so he can step straight back in.

McLeish failed to confirm team news ahead of tomorrow night’s game with Bolton, though reports have suggested James Collins is unavailable after the centre-half limped out of Villa’s goalless draw with Sunderland with a groin injury at the weekend. His absence would likely afford Alan Hutton a way back into McLeish’s first-team plans; the Scot was dropped from the starting line-up last weekend, with Carlos Cuellar beginning the game at right-back, but Collins’ injury saw Hutton climb off the bench, with Cuellar shifting to central defence alongside Nathan Baker.

Gabby Agbonlahor faces a late fitness test to the shoulder injury that forced him off just after half time against the Black Cats. Despite having failed to score since Gameweek 11, over 42,000 Fantasy managers transferred him in last week – his absence will afford Emile Heskey a chance to partner Andreas Weimann up top tomorrow.

Mark Davies is a doubt for Bolton’s trip to Villa tomorrow evening after missing training today with a leg problem. The midfielder was drafted in by over 5,000 Fantasy managers prior to his double Gameweek 35 but picked up just two points in the weekend draw with Swansea – Owen Coyle revealed in this morning’s press conference he has a couple of midfield worries, with Josh Vela being considered for a start as the Trotters head to the midlands in search of a vital three points:

“We’ve got one or two concerns for Tuesday night. Mark won’t train today because we don’t want to risk aggravating it further. We are hoping he will be okay but he remains touch-and-go. Darren Pratley missed out at the weekend with a virus, and I think he has little or no chance of being involved against Villa. Darren has tried to do a bit running but still felt dizzy. He has got better but not to an extent where he can get about for 90 minutes in a Barclays Premier League match.

Arsene Wenger has talked up the chances of Abou Diaby over the remaining three matches of the season. The absence of Mikel Arteta is a bitter blow for the Gunners – they have picked up just one point in the four matches he has missed since joining in August – and, with the Spaniard out for the campaign due to ankle problem, Wenger is hoping Diaby can make a significant impact in the upcoming games against (stk, NOR, wba). With his central midfield options limited, the Arsenal boss fielded Tomas Rosicky against Chelsea on Saturday, despite the fact that the Czech star was suffering from a virus – a fact that Wenger revealed post-match:

I hope he (Diaby) can play an important role in midfield but I am a bit cautious because he only played 25 minutes. But in the last three games I hope he can help us. Rosicky, in fairness, was not even supposed to play. He woke up sick. We forced him basically to play and he wanted to and he is still lying on a medical bench now. I am grateful because he wasn’t well and he still played and gave everything. At some stage he told us, ‘Look, I cannot play any more. To miss Arteta and Rosicky at the moment is just too much on the creative side of our game. Even Arteta being out is enough for us already.

Roberto Martinez is sweating on the fitness of Franco Di Santo ahead of Wigan’s home clash with Newcastle. The forward grabbed a goal in the Gameweek 34 win at Arsenal but lasted just over half an hour at Fulham on Saturday before succumbing to a calf problem. With Hugo Rodallega having failed to play since Gameweek 28 due to a knee injury, Martinez may be forced to turn to Connor Sammon, with his options up front dwindling. Sammon climbed off the bench at the Cottage to provide an assist and may well get the chance to lead the line, with games against Blackburn and Wolves also to follow the Magpies showdown.

Need 10 points from Bogdan and Petrov for h2h and not get further behind in minileague.

If I had chosen ANY Villa defender other than Collins, would only need 4 points.

Anyone else feels that they have been undone by using this site too much this season?

Last season it led me to victory but this season i have payed far too much attention to peoples opinions on the forums rather than trusting my own judgement.

To some extent yes, but without it my rank would still be hellova lot lower. Last season i finishing 4,700th through using this site every now and again and getting good advice. This year i've valued peoples opinions too much and it hurt my rank, since i've starting giving out my own advice a bit more, i start to value my own ideas on punts a bit more and it's lead me too a lot more green arrows.

That said, i know that without discussion and seeing the majority opinion, my overall rank would be a lot worse off.

Not sure, all I'll say is try to base your decisions solely on the stellar articles provided by the site. I used to read sports websites fanatically before I found out that everything one needs is covered in the FFS articles and the Tweets right here.

I often have to remind myself not to get carried away by all the kneejerkers in the comment's section though.

        good advice there IT.

had an awful season myself. i started to gamble too early which has caused me to slide down my mini leagues.

plus i have favoured fixtures over form eg. liverpool and been very unlucky at times.

couldnt pick a captain to save my life this season...

I have to say this season that form has absolutely annihilated fixtures. I didn't expect that after being such a fixture fixated manager last season. I had to adjust a little after a difficult start but I feel I have rescued what could have been a horrible season.

There's always next season HBP. I have a feeling that things will definitely be a lot more normal then. An unusual number of kneejerks and bandwagons have came off this season or so it seems to me anyway...

    Before you all run scared of point hits, lets look at my obscene 12pointer last week;

McClean to Petrov, gained 4 pts on that already
Yak to Cisse, up 9 pts
RVP to Aguero, up 5 pts
Baines to BAE, only 2 pts, (couldnt have fielded 3 at the back otherwise)

Sure you can argue that I should have only taken an 8 pt hit. But point hits are necessarily bad, its merely wise to think about the risk your taking.

Hibbo is a no-no. Wouldnt touch Spurs-defence either, but BAE does have some attacking threat.

I went with Bale.Siggy, Demps and Vdv. Not sure about HBA they have two very hard games. Who will you captain?

Probably Cisse, they are hard games but this season form has been more important mainly hence the Ben Arfa pick, but VDV could score big if Spurs hit back.

For me am thinking, Jel, Cisse, or Vdv. But not 100% up for any of them really. I wish there was a stand out cap

Away from the Jelavic/Cisse/Dempsey bandwagons, who are the better options for double GWers? Forward and midfield mostly.

      Cabaye, pienaar or HBA.

I'd like some chelsea cover but rotation risks.
      Liverpool are dirt
      No stoke players stand out

      It's actually pretty limited

    Another boring DGW question.
I'm definitely getting Jelavic and VDV (2FTs)
That gives me 8.8 for a further DGW midfielder. Pienaar an obvious candidate. But say I didn't fancy doubling up on Everton.....and I don't own Cisse.
Would Cabaye or HBA be a better option? or even Kalou or Ramires

Cabaye isnt all that great for fpl although recently he has gotten some big hauls. Wouldnt touch either of those Chelsea boys as they have 4 games in 10 days, and youll never know. Besides, either are very good for fpl. Go Cisse, hes hotter than lava atm, will score on anybody.

Thanks Doos. So you would recommend Ben arfa ahead of Pienaar on the basis that I will have Jelavic?
Everton fixtures in the double and beyond are better but Newcastle in tip top form....hmm..

Noticed that my HD to Hd league doesn't go beyond GW36. Others appear to be the same. Is this a mistake or will they get updated to GW38

Your H2H leagues goes into quarter finals, 1 vs 8 etc starting GW36. The fixture will be there when the GW ends.

Maybe semi finals starting GW37 which is abit weird. Should have 38 games with 20 teams though.

Leave it, Tevez just might get something out of United. Certainly will have the proper motivation!

That's what I was thinking and Arsenal need to win to put a bit of distance between them and the chasing pack.

Whats with all the Verm love away to Stoke? Arsenal have _no_ form and Stoke at home are tough. If i were you id rather play Caulker.

Haha why would you ever (c) Wheater :p Leaning towards Cisse myself, mb VDV if i decide to bring him in. Might even go really punty and get in Defoe if Adebayor is indeed finished in the club.

    If I did do Miyaichi/Aguero -> Bale/Jelavic, for a 4 point-hit, this would be my team for gameweek 36.

    Friedel
    Simpson Caulker Vermaelen
    Bale (Vc) HBA Siggy Dempsey
    RVP Rooney Jelavic (C)

    Mignolet Valencia Kompany Evans

Any other transfers worth it for a -4, my team looking good?
