Two games left and level on points with City, United’s attempts to retain their Premier League trophy could well be scuppered by goal difference now. Currently eight goals behind their rivals, it’s perhaps a tall order to haul in such a superior margin but with Swansea rolling up to Old Trafford this Sunday, it’s a fair assumption that Sir Alex Ferguson’s side will go on the attack in their final home game of the campaign.

Even if City drop points at Newcastle earlier in the day, United are unlikely to play it cagey. A final day trip to Sunderland is hardly the easiest of tasks – the Black Cats have tasted defeat just once at the Stadium of Light since Martin O’Neill’s arrival and have returned three clean sheets in the last five in front of their home fans. Three points, and plenty of goals, will be a must for Ferguson this weekend.

Swansea’s recent away form will afford United plenty confidence. The Welsh side have conceded three goals in two of their last three on the road and, with Brendan Rodgers trialling a 3-4-3 last weekend, shipped four at home to relegated Wolves. The new system is likely to be ditched, with a 4-3-3 offering a little more solidity but, with the Red Devils desperate for inspiration after Monday night’s limp display at the Etihad, Nani could well be the spark United need.

A look at his recent form shows that, prior to Monday’s game, Nani had produced attacking returns in four of his last five matches. Scoring against Villa and Everton in his previous two, the 9.9 priced midfielder had also provided his Fantasy owners with four assists and four bonus points over those featured fixtures, despite coming off the bench in two of those appearances. Antonio Valencia, on the other hand, has a single assist in his last five, while Ashley Young has a pair of assists in his last five – both from highly debatable penalty decisions after theatrical dives against QPR and Villa. With both players appearing from the subs bench on Monday, Nani appears to have been promoted up the pecking order and his start looks the most secure.

The Portuguese winger was hardly helped by Monday’s change of formation. Shifted to the right, with Ryan Giggs handed a role on the left as United lined up in a 4-5-1, Nani returned no more than two Fantasy Premier League (FPL) points but Ferguson will surely revert to 4-4-2 on Sunday once again. With eight goals to his name already – compared to Valencia and Young’s combined tally of nine – last season’s top scoring FPL player will need to step up this weekend and, if goals are to be on the agenda, he’s more than likely to play a significant part.

      I wouldn't suggest taking a hit at this period of the season. Two games to go and it's definitely not worth it. What's worth is using the hit on a striker or midfielder or someone on-form that could potentially bring you more points. Like a differential.

    My defence is as follows:

    Verm / Enrique / Evans(i) [BAE(i), Cahill(i)]

    I have two questions:
    1) Which defender do I bring in to solve my injury crisis?
    2) Who should I captain, Rooney, Jelavic or Cisse?

    Wouldn't ask, but I just can't see a reliable defender out there, impossible to call any of the last 2 GWs.. Thanks

    SCORING ODDS:

    Player = odds score 1 - odds score 2 - hatrick

    RVP = 2/1 - 2-1 - 8/1

    Cisse = 13/2 - 9/1 - 40/1

    Jelly = 7/2 - 4/1 - 20/1

    Demps = 9/2 - 5/1 - 25/1

    A) Evans -> Hibbert this week (rival who’s 10 points behind has him)
    or just play Turner @ Fulham and save 2 free in order to do:
    Dempsey -> Moses, Cisse -> Aguero next week?

      Well, he hasn't done as well with Hernandez as he has with Welbeck in terms of goals, but given the situation and Utd's need to win by a large margin I don't imagine a slightly deeper role will prove much of a handicap this week.

              Ridgwell used to do well for them. Dann also left. I have no idea who they have between the sticks.

              They mentioned Westham had best away record in Championship this year. I wonder if Nolan or C.Cole are on peno's.

              Overall I can't imagine the newly promoted sides doing as well as Nor/Swans did this year.

              Maybe. The striker from Southampton has crazy goal record. SEB mk II?

    siggy tony bale vdv demps

    cisse jelly aguero

    Best way to get rvp back (2.2 in bank)...

    A) bale/cisse > Moses/rvp 4 point hit
    B) aguero > rvp no hit but have to bring ageuro back gw38
    C) any other bright ideas??

      If you think RVP+bale will outscore Aguero+Moses go B and do Aguero to RVP and worry bout the point hit next week to get him back in.

      I think Moses is a better call, can't see Blackburn keeping a cleanie and I still think even against newcastle aguero is City's best chance at winning the title for them.

    Bogdan/Vorm

    Walker/Kompany/Evans/Caulker/Senderos

    Valencia/Bale/Siggy/Dempsey/McClean

    Cisse/Rooney/Jelly

    I've got 1 FT and 7 mill to spunk.

    Fo Sho I need to get Evans out and get in a decent defender.
    Also was really thinking I need RVP.

    So lads.....

    Who out for Evans? I was thinking Sagna/Verm even Boyce at Wigan (crazy but they are smashing it up)

    Also is Cisse > RVP a good idea for a 4 point hit. He's bound to rip the Canaries apart.

    For a 4 point hit? My ML rival 8 points above me has Pienaar instead of my Valencia. Want to get Rooney in due to needing the points and goals, Cisse surely will be stopped by City and Pienaar has been returning better than Bale.
