The Big Numbers – Gameweek Thirty Seven

Yaya Toureโ€™s magnificent brace of goals looks to have sealed the title for the blue half of Manchester. United did their job against Swansea with a routine 2-0 win, but must now rely on relegation threatened QPR to earn a result at the Etihad.

With Monday’s Ewood clash and Chelseaโ€™s trip to Anfield still to come, hereโ€™s our pick of the key statistis so far in the Gameweek, together with our take on where the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) bonus could be headingโ€ฆ

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

9pts behind my leader now, I have 2FT and 3.6m in the bank. What are the must changes I need to make to my team? Capitals are the players we both have

    Vorm
    KOMPANY, Vermaelen, Evans
    DEMPSEY, vdv, BALE, VALENCIA
    RVP, JELAVIC, Cisse

    Mignolet, SIGGY, Enrique, Turner

    My initial thoughts were

Bale & Demsey > Toure & Moses or
    Dempsey & Jelavic > Toure/ Moses & Aguero

Note to self for next season: Don't bother checiking out rival teams. If I hadn't tried to cancel out transfers when on top or selecting differentials when behind, then I would still be leading my ML. Go with the players I think will score the most points.

Been cracking up under the pressure.

    1. Lrf

But now I'm 25-35 behind #1 and 60-ish in front of #3, so migh just as well have some fun and go all out in the last round. ML is lost.

That's what I have been doing most of the season, and it took me to 1.3k overall in the rankings. Then with the DGW coming closer and my main rival having a WC, I just lost it. Started following what he were doing too closely. Well, you live and learn.

This seems like such an obvious thing but it's the best advice you can ever be given in FPL. I think looking too much at rivaling teams is the most common mistake in this game.

Only time I'd advice you to do it is when chasing a mini league leader with 5 or less gameweeks left.

      Open Controls
      1. Lrf
        14 years, 5 months ago

Yeah, and it depends on how much behind you are too. Now I'm so far behind with one round left, that I might aswell go all out, but I will definitely not bother too much with rival teams next season.

Bye bye PP cup. It has been such a fantastic thrill ride to get to the semi finals in my first ever PP cup qualification, and thanks to anyone who supported me.

Rooney's assist and Sunderland scoring 1 goal less than City will be enough to knock me out as VDV and Jelavic failed to produce anything.
