Semi Finals – Day One – Dugout Discussion

After a brief three-day hiatus from the Euro 2012 action, we’re raring to go once again as Spain take on Portugal this evening in the first semi-final of the tournament. With only three games left of the competition, there are big decisions to be made by Fantasy managers looking to get that vital edge in their mini-leagues. As always, we’ve opened up the Dugout Discussion ahead of kick-off:

The team news is in and is as follows:

Vicente Del Bosque makes one alteration to Spain’s lineup from the side that saw off France 2-0 in the previous round. It’s a move that will surprise many, with Alvaro Negredo handed the chance to lead the line, as Cesc Fabregas joins Fernando Torres on the bench. Portugal also make a single change but it’s one that had been anticipated. With Helder Postiga due to a hamstring injury, Hugo Almeida is given the lone forward role.

Spain XI: Casillas; Arbeloa, Ramos, Pique, Jordi Alba; Busquets, Alonso, Xavi; Silva, Negredo, Iniesta

Portugal XI: Patricio: Pereira, Pepe, Bruno Alves, CoentrAo; Veloso, Meireles, Moutinho; Nani, Almeida, Ronaldo

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Which is the best option here?

    A) Casillas, Lahm & Negredo
    or
    B) Rui Patrício, Boateng & Silva

My other defenders are Hummels, Alba & Arbeloa
    Thanks lads πŸ™‚

Well A has the better keeper if you expect Spain to win, the better German defender, and much better value up front. It's a no-brainer decision imo.

    Neuer | 4.0
Jordi Alba | Sergio Ramos | Arbeloa | Boateng | Pique
    Ozil | Schweinsteiger | Khedira | 4.0 | 4.0
    Negredo | Silva | 4.0

So, obviously if Germany or Spain goes out it'll be big trouble for next round, but is everything else pretty square? I'm after the best possible team of nailed-ons assuming Spain and Germany go through...

    2.1 left.

Why is everyone choosing klose over gomez?

I secretly think people have gone for Klose over Gomez because of price, and they are trying to convince themselves that he will come on because he is cheaper

What about is someone nailed on in Italy's attacking two? Any help appreciated.

Im staring to think that its not a matter of who will start between Klose and Gomez.

More of who will get 60 mins and who will get 30.
