After a brief three-day hiatus from the Euro 2012 action, we’re raring to go once again as Spain take on Portugal this evening in the first semi-final of the tournament. With only three games left of the competition, there are big decisions to be made by Fantasy managers looking to get that vital edge in their mini-leagues. As always, we’ve opened up the Dugout Discussion ahead of kick-off:

The team news is in and is as follows:

Vicente Del Bosque makes one alteration to Spain’s lineup from the side that saw off France 2-0 in the previous round. It’s a move that will surprise many, with Alvaro Negredo handed the chance to lead the line, as Cesc Fabregas joins Fernando Torres on the bench. Portugal also make a single change but it’s one that had been anticipated. With Helder Postiga due to a hamstring injury, Hugo Almeida is given the lone forward role.

Spain XI: Casillas; Arbeloa, Ramos, Pique, Jordi Alba; Busquets, Alonso, Xavi; Silva, Negredo, Iniesta

Portugal XI: Patricio: Pereira, Pepe, Bruno Alves, CoentrAo; Veloso, Meireles, Moutinho; Nani, Almeida, Ronaldo

      Instead of Neur/Coentrao combo, go Patricio/Hummels and use 1M to upgrade filler to Abate as a 12th option.

      I don't think either of their teams will score.
      If I had to choose though, I'd pick Pirlo.
      I recommend Khedira, Busquets or Alonso instead.

      I saw that the only person requiring a late fitness test is De Rossi. So I assume Abate is fit to play.

      Del Bosque would not start Negredo to pull him at half-time. He will play at least 60 mins. If you're putting someone in to give them a chance to prove themselves you don't haul them off at half-time.

    I am 2nd in my ML, 5 points behind 1st and 5 ahead of 3rd. In my position, would you:

    A) Make Ronaldo (C) as everyone else will

    OR

    B) Make Negredo (C) as I may be the only one to even have him
