Fantasy Football is returning to our Friday night TV courtesy of a new show – The Fantasy Football Club.

We’re delighted to be amongst the first to announce the news that Sky Sports are launching a weekly show on Friday nights from 10-11pm, hosted by “Fenners” (pictured above) and Paul Merson.

The first episode will go out live on August 17 on Sky Sports HD and will mark the return of Fantasy Football to a TV audience following the demise of Baddiel and Skinner’s Fantasy Football League way back in 1996.

The Fantasy Football Club will feature celebrity guests each week, with analysis of their Fantasy lineups and the key Fantasy Football topics amongst the discussion. No really, we’ve been promised.

The Sky Sports’ own Fantasy Football game will, not surprisingly, feature throughout with a focus on the leaders and top teams. Fantasy Football Scout are supporting the game with our own league this season – details on how to join our league can be found below.

We’ll also be getting exclusive access to the team behind The Fantasy Football Club prior to the first airing, with more details to come before the August 17 kick-off. In the meantime, you might want to follow the show on Twitter right here.

And no, before you ask, I’m not the new “Statto”.

The Sky Sports Scout League

Sky Sports Fantasy Football is free to play and offers a raft of prizes, including £25,000 to the winner.

Fantasy Football Scout also has an official Sky Sports Fantasy Football League with a prize of a Samsung Blu Ray home cinema system worth up to £600 on offer.

Register your Sky Sports team and then join our “FFScout” league – the Pin is 8004519.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Best thing to do is not plan too far ahead things don't always go to plan suspensions injuries people in form, people out of form etc plus price changes just pick a team your comfortable with for week 1 and take it from there

It's OK to look for an exit strategy from GW1 to GW3, but beyond that: who knows. Even then the chances of getting to GW3 to plan is pretty small.

Impossible to know with Giroud and Podolski, especially with RVP still in the picture. We have so many options for those front three places at the moment that it's a real lottery.. Will know by the Cologne game a week before the season starts I'd say.

If it was me, I'd go with Gervinho-Podolski-Walcott for GW1 but Podolski-Giroud-Walcott is more likely.I think Podolski could really benefit from playing as the main striker and I've never really been impressed with him playing left wing..

Koscielny is by far our best defender right now. He was amazing last season and I think he made the most tackles and interceptions in the whole league. He's nailed on for me in the Skysports game as you get bonus points for tackle competion.

For FPL, he's a good prospect at 5.5 as he is a danger going forward and can score goals but I'd say Vermaelen is still likely to score more points and has a greater goal threat, although he's not as good defensively. He is 1.5 more also.

andre santos has started in the left wing position in a preseason game...and today too against man city.he is the oop no one is talking about. first eleven against city:
Fabianski (GK), Jenkinson, Bartley, Vermaelen, Gibbs, Song, Arteta, Diaby, Santos, Walcott, Gervinho.

wenger has said that podolski will play in a central role once the season gets underway...so i think it will be a 4-4-2 sczesny- sagna, kos, verm, gibbs- walcott, arteta, song, santos/gervinho- podolski, giroud.
think santos is better than gervinho but we will see

Podolski will probs play out left but is classified as a forward in FPL. Can't see him getting enough goals to be a real prospect. Why not go for Walcott who will play exact same position on the other side and gets 1 more point for a goal + CS points?

Haven't seen much of Giroud but if RVP leaves he should be nailed on upfront and could be a good option.

Valencia seems the more preferred winger nowadays...
THERE IS NO SUCH THINGS AS NAILED ON IN MAN UTD MIDFIELD OR THE SQUAD AS A WHOLE 😛
Last 2 years SAF always gave me the middle finger with his squad selections 😛

If i had to pick, Either Valencia or Kagawa

Polski will be nailedd on.... but unsure as to whether it will be on the left or through the middle. If on the left I'd avoid.

Giroud is interesting. He'll only play centre forward If RVP leaves (as expected) and Polski on the left.

      front 3 could be

      Polski - Giroud - Walcott/Ox

      or

      Gerv - Polski - Walcott/Ox

As for Man U mids.... think Valencia is most nailed on. Nani/Young to rotate Kagawa/Welbeck/Hernandez to rotate.

    Friedel / Federici
    A.Cole / Williams / Hangeland / Cuellar / McCartney
Bale / Hazard / Ben Arfa / McClean / Guthrie
    Torres / Aguero / Pogrebnyak

Iam also considering C. Cole as third forward. I remember when WH was in PL, he was very dangerous, but dunno how is he playing now ? Any fan of West Ham here ?

    Kagawa Hazard Bale McAnuff Noble
    Torres Aguero Graham

Don't really want/need Kagawa but not sure where to invest the money . Defence is the obvious choice but I think it's a bit of a waste when I will only play one of the 4m defenders every week anyway.

Arsenal have almost no strikers, and dont have the best defence...

Will be interesting to see how Tevez does. If he plays super well, hes in for Aguero.

Hi lads. Just a quick question regarding money leagues in the FPL. We had a good one last year that I ended up winning thanks to my lurking around this site so cheers for that 🙂 It was a classic league that went right to the last kick of the season!

This year we're doing it all again but the majority have voted on a H2H league instead of the classic. Was just wondering if you guys think this is a better format for a money league. I've played them before but it's always been a novelty distraction from my classic leagues.

What's the best way to play these leagues? Obviously spending money on transfers hits you a lot harder in this format!

they are not as pure as the classic game, your transfers can be planned to nullify your next opponent rather than enhance your own team

Hmmm I'm not really liking the sound of that! Brings a whole different side of tactics to the game i suppose but half the fun is sculpting your team to your liking, not to cancel out someone else's team! 🙁

I'm not happy about it but I think the majority of people from our league last year want it! Might make a second team and put that through all the classico leagues like FFS ect..I think some of the less involved players feel like they have a better chance in the H2H.
