Having rolled out a Selection Guide to Goalkeepers earlier this afternoon, we now switch focus to the Members Projections for our search for the men between the sticks. While Joe Hart predictably sits out on top, we focus on value in this first Members article, examining those keepers who are expected to deliver the best points per million ratio for the season and the first six Gameweeks…

Folks - a quick question: Can you help explain the significance of the home and away figures alongside each team in the season ticker. They represent degrees of difficulty or easiness of fixtures but how do I interpret them? Thanks for any help you can give.
Open Controls-
The larger the number the stronger that team is at home/away.
Open Controls-
Thanks for the help Ginkapo - does that mean that the figure applies to their next game home or away or what?

I'm starting to like Al-Habsi & Green/Cerny (whoever will play) as well-rotating GKs. The only weak point is in GW4 in first 10 games with:

Hazard only scored 2 goals for Belgium who have a talented enough team gives me concerns. But then again he scored 20 last season in a team that contained Joe Cole...

Joe Cole bandwagon!

A player no one has mentioned is Alan Tate. What are his chances of getting back into the first team after last seasons injury? Is he still club captain? If he starts then surely he is the must have bargain of the season?
Open Controls-
Can't see that at all. Think you're confusing him with Monk who was the club captain. Tate got a long term injury but Neil Taylor is well established now, and rightly 1st choice. He'll play the majority of games, and has looked good at the Olympics too.
Open Controls-
Taylor is very good player. Nailed on since they signed him 2 years back.
Open Controls -
Can Tate not play at centre back? Could he start the season ahead Of Chico at centre back?
Open Controls-
In all honesty no, he'll just be a squad player tbh. Chico has been bought as 1st choice with a strong reputation from Spain, and some have said he's even better than Caulker. Can't see Tate playing much.

Any serious FPL managers on here interested in starting/participating in a Draft mini league, done this with mates last couple of seasons. We capped it at 6 participants with league setup aimed at each manager having exclusive rights to his player picks. We worked the pick rotation by holding a 15 round draw obviously this will have to be tinkered with to work here online.
Any thoughts or interest most welcomeOpen Controls -
I feel like I've managed to make a balanced team while also spending a lot at the back... What do you guys think?
De Gea (Jussi)
Clichy Vertonghen Ivanovic (Gunter) (Clyne)
Mata Arteta Taarabt Guthrie (Maloney)
Aguero Torres Graham
2 mil in the bank...Open Controls-
Now that could work. Stressing the could mind.
Only issue is that you have Graham, Guthrie and Maloney rotating for one bench spot. If we were sure abotu Kaboul/Dawson you could upgrade one of them a little bit. shameOpen Controls -
It's good.
There have been loads of RMTs and what I'm trying to do now is pick out what balance people have gone for
GKs..cheap/ mid/ exp
Defs...1,2 or 3 big hitters (same with MFs and Atts)
There's a lot of variance with regard to this (even if it does seem the players all feel the same)Open Controls

Ok so I have now decided to go against Doos (sorry, but Bale is too good to resist) and have come up with this. Thoughts?
De Gea / Cerny (or other 4.0 bench-warmer)
Cashley Ivanovic (c) Hangeland / Wilson Demel
Bale Kagawa Pienaar Noble / Frei (or other 4.5)
Torres Aguero Graham
2.0 left for Torres > RooneyOpen Controls -
Gomes; Walker, Dawson, Vertonghen, Assou-Ekotto; Huddlestone, Livermore; Bentley, Sigurdsson, Lennon; Bale

Do people think Swansea's defence will be as solid next season with Rodgers and Caulker gone? If not, then i might ditch my Swansea defensive cover. It would solve all my defensive issues...
Open Controls-
find 0.5 and get Rafa instead.
Open Controls-
I'm getting Vidic 😉 My defence is currently:
Friedal Federici
Ivanovic(Vidic) Coloccini Cuellar Boyce GunterOpen Controls

would love if adam johnson moved clubs! would be straight in my team, no idea if he's done anything preseason, just think he is quality & would start almost anywhere else
Open Controls-
I could see him fitting in real well at a team like Fulham.

i reckon he'd do well @ liverpool... hope not though as all my friends support them

Any love for Fabio? QPR will be tighter at the back under Hughes, plus he's likely to be playing as winger.
Open Controls-
Yeah he's in my team. I'm not expecting miracles but he comes in at a decent price.
Open Controls -
-
where did this rumour come from?
Do you really think he will displace Hoillet and taarabt?
Although he could be preparing to copy the Wigan formationOpen Controls -
Much love, maybe too much -- especially as he plays City, Chels, Tot in weeks 3-5.
GW6 might be good to bring him in, though.Open Controls -
Yes, but i fear his rotation with Traore, so not for me. I could do without the stress of seeing a team on matchday without my starting player in!

Latest RMT ;
Mignolet/ Foster
ACole, Ivanovic, Tierney/ Gorkks/ McCartney

Don't like the Chelsea defence double. It means you will have to waste a transfer after GW1 unless you are keeping them for longer
Open Controls-
It means avoiding potential disapointment trying to figure out what Chels MF to pick.
I ll shift one of em to City soon enough (don't see it as "wasting" a TF)

liverpool sign bentOpen Controls -
I really want him but Rooney and Aguero means my third striker has to be relatively budget.
Open Controls -
There are so many strikers who COULD start with a bang. Of course the usual suspects like Rooney & Aguero but also the likes of Cisse, Bent, Adebayor, Ba, Suarez & Jelavic not to mention a certain Robin Van Persie.
Just got to go with your own instinct i think and spend less time looking at the generic RMTs on here.Open Controls-
You missed Tevez, highest scorer
Open Controls
-
He was literally the first name of my team sheet and has not moved. I thought he would be prices at 9-9.5m this season and I would still have him at that price. Proven EPL goalscorer.
Open Controls-

Open Controls

He's in for me. Just been made captain in what will be a far more attacking team this term. Great price. I think he has a non serious injury but it needs monitoring. Gonna throw in Tevez instead if he looks unlikely to make the first game.
Open Controls-
Thats pretty much bang on my thinking. Proven goalscorer and I reckon Lambert will bring the best out of him. Ideally my starting 3 for GW1 would be Torres Bent Aguero (may have to settle for Tevez)
Open Controls-
thats my starting 3 at the mo, i reckon it'll be torres to ade (spurs) in gmwk2
Open Controls
-
-
I waiver between him and Holt.
Nagging feelings that:
1) Holt will score similar for £2m less.
2) Villa will still be crap this season
3) Bent rarely has multi goal games and wasn't a bonus point magnet under the old system.
That £2m can be spent wisely on midfield, defence or keepers so I think Bent's a no for me.Open Controls
-
-
i have him in there
Open Controls

Who do you prefer from
A) N'Zogbia
B) Michu
C) McClean
Currently leaning towards Michu but he does represent more of a risk. I already have Pienaar and don't want Taarabt.Open Controls-
McClean

I've seen nothing of either of them so need help on this... Is going with both Michu and Petric too much of a gamble?
Would I be better off with something like Pienaar/Taarabt and Graham?Open Controls -
Latest rumour on Twitter:
BackPage. @BackPage
Latest Carroll saga news is if he joins us on loan, and West Ham stay up. Carroll will be earning 100k a week, he's currently on 80k
No need to worry then. That money will be safe next season!!Open Controls-
I thought Carroll's agent confirmed it was nonsense?
Open Controls -
He has no interest in joining West Ham on loan according to reports
Open Controls-
Apparently, Carroll said he only wanted to go to a club with European football. Which is code for 'I want to go back to Newcastle'.
I don't really think he can afford to be fussy. Liverpool are average and they don't want him. Top 5 teams will not be beating down Brendan Rogers' door for him.Open Controls

there all in the midfield of all rmts parmtree, just not together, thought id lump them all together and see what happens,a few penos will help ,all 5 capable of scoring so you never know ,krul and mingolet self evident ,but unfortunatly 0.5 above the threshold it seems but honestly perfect home rotation for 2 gd teams ,im happy with that ,komps and cashley play every week, kos and dawson rotate perfect,up front i expect torres to return plenty of goals with the firepower bought this season to supply him ,tevez is pretty much as good as it gets and for 9.0 i suggest the biggest bargain this season ,gentlemen i therefore rest my case for the defense.......

I think Kos/Arse, at least until week 7, has heartbreak written all over it.
Open Controls -
I bloody love it, that is all.

And if Bale/Walcott/Valencia/Hazard start performing? It doesn't leave much flexibility to bring them in, every transfer is precious.

Anyone else think that Given is a good prospect not just for the start of the season but also long-term. El-hamadi has been bought to solidfy the protection for the backline.

Bale and Tevez or Pienaar and Aguero? Pienaar and Aguero would save me 0.5, and I can't decide whether Tevez will be a regular enough starter to warrant a punt, especially after Balotelli's Euro performance. Hopefully the annual Everton slow start will be negated by the fact that we have a good striker this season.
