Having already run the rule over the Goalkeepers, and Defenders for the season ahead, the third part in our series of Members articles sees us analyse the midfielders. With the aid of our Projections we’ve analysed the average points expected per player over the course of the upcoming campaign and, applying this to the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) player price list, have listed the top ten in terms of expected value per Fantasy pound for the season ahead…

How often was Kagawa in the box in that video. He kept working space for nani and valencia, absolutely precise distribution.

I am almost certain that Ridgewell will replace Jones ...

        GW1:
        Federici
        Koscielny, Riise, Taylor R
        Lampard(c), Yaya Toure, Kagawa, Song
        Adebayor, Torres(vc), Pogrebnyak
        Subs: Friedel; Dyer, Jones, Rangel

Because he's also the same price as Rafael and Kaboul. I'd feel sick owning a Fulham defender for that price personally 🙠Hangeland is slowly eating away at me at 5.0 but I keep reminding myself of that attack potential from 2 seasons ago

People are always trying to find purpose and to justify our pointless existence. A lot of people turn to religion for this, but people with suggestive surnames like this subconsciously get drawn to a certain path, and put 100% into getting there. It makes you think, with enough determination, we can achieve anything we want. That is encouraging 😀

not sure, we,the english, love to label a welsh, scottish or northern irish athlete thats doing well on a world stage as 'British' cos they know that Britain and England are misperceived as the same thing across the world. We're constantly at it lol.
Eddie Irvine for example always had the tricolour of the Republic raised when he won a race, but the english media constantly referred to him as British, which was prob a bit disrespectful. I find it very funny thats all!

    A couple of questions!

    - Start the season with
    A) Lamps + Bale and then do Lamps to Valencia/Kagawa after GW 2 depending on form
    B) Lamps + Valencia and then do Lamps to Bale after GW 1?

    - McClean or Larsson?
This is a little tricky to be honest. Larsson has Indirect, Direct FKs and penalties and is almost as decent a player as McClean, but the scouts project McClean to do a shade better.

Ive actually gone for A, and decide later what to do.. feels better.
And so far McClean over Larsson, tho i might go for Larsson when/if Sunderland signs a good striker, really hoping for Fletcher..

or aguero, petric and 9.0 on 2 defenders?

With Rooney playing a deep lying CF role and Welbeck/Hernandez up top, how does Kagawa fit into a ManU offense with Rooney? From last year's games it was always 442 when Rooney was out and 441 with him. Is Kagawa just a sub for Rooney or will ManU play with just 1 CM/CDM, to accomidate for 2 CF/CAM players?

    confused is all

He fits in as a rotation risk with Welbeck and Hernandez playing off Rooney. I've watched BVB play, and he's switched to the wing on occasions when he and Gotze were both on the pitch, where Gotze assumed his in-the-hole position.

Lots seem to think Fergie will switch to 4411 with Kagawa behind Rooney.

Not convinced yet myself, can see 442 in a reasonable proportion of games, especially at home. Mostly because I can't see Welbeck and Hernandez not getting any PL starts. Can see 4411 more in away games/in Europe/against top sides.

i cant figure out whether to go pienaar or not. these everton fixtures are a conundrum. They appear overall tempting for the first 13 gws, as long a stretch as one can basically ask for. but upon closer inspection, its just doesnt seem that exciting.

gws 1-10 only 4 at Goodison, one is UTD week 1 when those who decide to start the season with him will probably try to bench for noble or something like that.

so really thats 3 home games in 10 gws if you dont plan to use him. of those 3 remaining at home, one is against newcastle, another, liverpool. thats hardly salivating either.

other budget options for gws 1-10

AVL have home games against EVE, SWA, WBA, NOR
FUL have home games agaisnt NOR, WBA, AVL, EVE
WHM have home games against AVL, FUL, SUN, SOT
WIG have home games against STK, FUL, EVE, WHM
even WBA offer home games against EVE, REA, QPR, SOT in that time frame.

add into the mix the annual tradition of everton starting slow and i think ive talked myself out of pienaar.

Fulhams and Brom's look the most tempting!

But I fail to see any decent consistent midprice appeal from those two teams sadly. Petric will hog up all the points for Fulham. Midfield seems a bit barren to me albeit Dempsey.

Likewise - Streaks of blue across their opening phase of fixtures but scrutinise them and they dont appeal as much. Notoriously slow starters in recent seasons they've also lost talisman Cahill and defences will be more wary of Jelavic's threat.

Most FFS members/readers will share 7-10 players and that may not be a bad thing (wisdom of the crowds) but it will ultimately come down to your differentials and whether they pay off, at least if your aim is to be ahead early on.

Dawson is not a sure started, neither is Kacaniklic.

Chelsea have looked shite in defence preseason, man c too difficult, arsenal weak, man u expensive, so I have Spurs, Fulham, Swans, Sunderland, WBA

Too much competition i'm afraid, especially with Cazorla joining and Ramsey's improvement. Arteta is likely to play next to Song every match. And when Wiltshire returns Diaby has no chance.

      B

And not sure on the defenders, I'd say D but you'd have to check the rotation on the defenders.

May have missed before, but from the BBC -

'Ashley Cole wants to be paid £200,000 a week at Chelsea, with Real Madrid and Paris St Germain monitoring the 31-year-old England defender's situation.'

I'd say he's selling himself short - nearly £1m a month (approx)? That's only about £11m a year (including holidays.
