Having already run the rule over the Goalkeepers, and Defenders for the season ahead, the third part in our series of Members articles sees us analyse the midfielders. With the aid of our Projections we’ve analysed the average points expected per player over the course of the upcoming campaign and, applying this to the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) player price list, have listed the top ten in terms of expected value per Fantasy pound for the season ahead…
Nobody considering a WHam striker for the 3rd budget slot ? Best early fixtures out of everyone (or at least on a similar level with Swansea). Heard nobody talking about Maiga at all but the guy has a good record, was about to go to Newcastle last season but failed medical (they ended up with Cisse tho so every cloud) and I've heard him being talked up as a very good player. Although perhaps its safer going with a proven player e,g Graham the temptation is hard to resist as a punt seeing as all my other choices are established and safe.
Open ControlsBut we don't know who first choice is, they're looking to buy a new forward, and Noble's such good value at 5.0 that it seems a bit redundant.
Open ControlsYes we do. Cole will always lead the line. Vaz te upfront at home, on the wing away. Capable of goals from both places.
Open Controls
can someone remind me to have 2 transfers + around .5 saved for GW9 as i begin shifting my team out of this opening run?
Rangel->Coloccini
Sinclair->Barfa is looking boss.Open ControlsJust used the compare tool on Lampard, I'm growing fonder and fonder of the man.
Open ControlsThat just sounds wrong.
Open Controls
So hows everyone tonight 🙂 ??? Any news, craic or scandal??
Open ControlsEX just used a tool on Lampard. Besides that, not much.

Posted this up this morning, got a good reception. The morning folk too kind or will it do the deed.
De Gea, Jaask
Lescott, Clichy, Hughes, Cuellar, Clyne
Valencia, Lampard, McClean, Pianaar, Guthrie
RVP, Tevez, Graham
0.5 in the bank for Lamps -----> Bale after GW 1.Open ControlsIt's quite nice, but Clichy is a big no for me.
Open Controls
Ooh, this is interesting:
Mig, Fed
Lescott, Cole, Vertonghan, Tierny, Mccartney
Bale, Lamps, N'Zog, McClean, Noble
Aguero, Tevez, PetricOpen ControlsMig + Vert to Freidel + Cuellar
Like the team. Needs more Gingham.Open ControlsI genuinely think that Mignolet will outscore Freidal for 0.5 less. Vertonghan is my dubious luxury item, I know its silly but......
Open Controls
BNB - I agree that Mig may be an abaolute bargain @ 5. Not fond of the Green and Mig partnership no more?
Open Controls
I am happy now, any reason not to be?
DDG (federici)
Lescott, Ivanovic, Hangeland (wilson, cuellar)
Siggy/VDV, Valencia, Sinclair, Noble (maloney)
Petric, Torres, Aguero
thoughts? /10?Open ControlsSinclair and Siggy to Michu and Bale.
Other than that looks pretty good.Open Controls
a) Cashley + kagawa + nolan
b) Lescott + Bale + NobleOpen ControlsAnyone seen this website?

Quite funny rankingsOpen ControlsAmusing. I'm implementing and reviewing the results of an Elo Rating System comparison system atm, such a simple idea that yields pretty accurate results.
Only checked a few but BVB female rankings I can get behind the gold medalist: http://bit.ly/N9VjeB.Open Controls
still scratching my head and trying to figure out whether Lescott is 100% fixed for the start of the season or not.. so what's the general consensus fellow dead zoners??
Open ControlsWith Vidic back, what is SAF's first choice back four? Possibly...?
Jones / Ferdinand / Vidic / Evra
?Open ControlsJones till Rafael is fit, then it'll still be rotated depending on the game, Jones when he wants a more physical presence, Rafa for easy home games. Evans over Rio now I reckon too.

REPOST for a little more insight.
– Start the season with?
A) Lamps + Bale and then do Lamps to Valencia/Kagawa after GW 2 depending on form
B) Lamps + Valencia and then do Lamps to Bale after GW 1?
-- McClean or Larsson?
This is a little tricky to be honest. Larsson has Indirect, Direct FKs and penalties and is almost as decent a player as McClean, but the scouts project McClean to do a shade better.Open ControlsA as it gives you the flexibility to pick from the united midfield
McClean as Larsson's stats are gash in the second half of last season.Open ControlsB), please. At least, that's how I'm doing it ...
Song. Or Gutierrez.Open ControlsBnB: Yeah, I'm leaning towards McClean, but Larssons first half was incredibly good.
Doosra: I love Song. But a little skeptical till I see Arsenal pull themselves together minus RVP. I'll pass on Gutierrez, I think Cabaye's better looking 😉Open ControlsGutierrez!!!!
I know you love your differentials Doos but this is a step too far!
You do realise to get attacking points you have to be able to cross and shoot? Gutierrez has mastered neither of these skills.Open Controls2011/12 3305 2 4 15 48 0 0 0 4 1 0 12 431 £6.0 116

B) and McClean.
Open ControlsB. Not much in it, but Everton traditionally start slow, so if you believe in that stuff Valencia slightly edges it.
Larsson is the reliable choice, McClean has a little more upside imo. You know your gonna get in the 120 points range with Larsson. McClean, harder to tell if he is a one hit wonder or a 140+ points playersOpen Controls
Who have thought spending 9.5mil in midfield to be so difficult
Open ControlsI say bulk up the midfield. That's where most of the key players will flip in and out of form; and so you need to be flexible in that area. Strikers are more predictable and reliable as they are always the centre of attacks. And defence just isn't as important.
Open ControlsBut who. Think I've spiraled into confusion but tell me otherwise
Silva: No preseason to talk about. Out to drop if Citeh go to 3-5-2 me thinks
Bale: Already have. first person on the team sheet
Mata: heard nothing since RDM said he'll have a rest
Hazard: New to the prem. Not exactly lighting it up in preseason.
Dempsey: No go till his future is known
Gerrard: Even if i was tempted I just have to look at the fixtures
Walcott: No thanks. No RVP to put his crosses in the back of net
Lampard: Playing a Holding mid game for 9mil?
Valencia: Could be playing right back. Rotation worry
Nani: Rotation worry
VDV: Already have Bale. Seems to get injured every other day
Siggy: would have but is two Spurs too much?
Nasri: Rotation worry
Young: Rotation worry
Kagawa: New to the prem and rotation worry
Oscar: No chance at 8.5 until I've seen him
Yaya is looking a good bet in my eyesOpen ControlsSilva will take take up the AMC position where Yaya is playing pre-season. His returns are likely to be boosted. Walcott will still be a threat imo. And most of those players may present themselves as nailed on or a great prospect as the season goes on; which enphasise my point for a chunky midfield. I have Hazard Gervinho Silva Michu Noble atm. I think Hazard will perform, and is at least worth a punt for the first couple of fixtures. Gervinho is providing RVP leaves, and Michu has an incredible record and is playing in a role that provided Siggy with lots of chances.
Open ControlsOh, I agree with you that I can see a lot of these players turning up at some point but I'm really struggling to put any in for GW1. Will Silva play with no preseason to talk about so far?
Open ControlsI don't see why not. We'll have to wait and watch closely though. With a player a big as Silva, we will hear news from the Man City camp before the season.
Open Controls
I must admit, i am rather addicted to RMTs...
Green | Jussi
Terry Hughes Cuellar Rangel Gunter
Hazard Gervinho Silva Michu Noble
Rooney Adebayor Petric
If Adebayor doesn't go to Tottenham, i can pick Papiss and get Bale for Hazard or get another Tottenham striker. RVP is the only player to mess up this team.Open ControlsTerry? *shakes head*
Open ControlsI actually want him if he's not banned! Don't understand the Gerv punt though....
Open ControlsPodolski and Giroud won't start in the XI according to Wenger. They will take longer than expected to be settled and will have to be 'eased in'. And if RVP goes, Gervinho looks favourite to start up front. He will certainly get enough gametime to be threatening. As a 7.5m mid he's a bargain 🙂
Open ControlsHe, Tevez and Suarez will never be in my team.
Open Controls
He is purely there for Baines 🙂 And if Terry's ban does go ahead, i shall bring in Ivanovic.
Open Controls
Ah, I didn't know Gervinho was classified as a mid. Still wouldn't have him, though.
Open Controls
Slowly settling it down man-by-man :O
Green (Friedel)
Lescott - Hangeland - Coloccini (Williams, Cuellar)
Bale - Lampard (c) - Taarabt - Noble (Maloney)
Rooney - Aguero (vc) - PetricOpen ControlsI think Fed could do okay to start with but thinking long term I want a bit of QPR, not completely sure on that but I think Green will do well.
Open Controls
B just, but i'd find a different combination tbh
Open Controls
Is it wrong that I'm hoping RVP leaves the Premier league purely for FPL reasons?
Open Controlsquick survey - what player would you have from each team [attacker] fpl wise - 1st-3rd
i would go
man c - aguero , silva , tevez
man u - rooney , kagawa , valencia
che - mata , hazard , lampard
ars - rvp , walcott , arteta
tot - bale , [ade]/ siggy , vdv
new - cisse , ba . ben arfa
liv - suarez , gerrard , boriniOpen ControlsMan City: Aguero, Silva, Yaya
Man Utd: Rooney-unless RVP goes there
Chelsea: None - Rotation too big an issue at this stage
Arsenal: RVP if staying.
Spurs: Bale, Siggy, VdV. Adebayor if he goes there, which is looking increasingly unlikely now
Newcastle: Cissé, Cabaye
Liverpool: none-too overpricedOpen Controls
Lampard or Hazard?
Open ControlsWould appreciate opinions on this team.

How does this look guys?
Hart Cerny
Vidic Ivanovic Dawson Demel Gunter
Lampard Kagawa Michu Pienaar Guthrie
Aguero Torres Petric
Gw2; Lampard -> Siggy
Thanks for help.Open ControlsDDG and lescott works out cheaper than vidic and hart despite giving you same coverage - could spend that money elsewhere
Open Controls
Anybody have a contigency team with
RVP-Roo-Kun up frontOpen ControlsRVP, anyway.
Open ControlsI don't see value in RVP at 13m no matter where he goes. I am, of course, ready to eat my words at a moments notice.
Open ControlsAgree. Too much money. Even if he stays at Arsenal the extra £1.5m between him and Aguero doesn't add up to value for money in my opinion.
If he goes to Utd (and rumours are they are now in pole position) both him and Roney would now appear to be overpriced. If he went to MUFC I think I'd drop Rooney and get Kagawa instead.Open Controls
My only team has RVP & Tevez.
Open Controls
Michu to me is a definite. 15 goals in la liga last year in a poor team and has had goal scoring chances in pre-season. Swansea have the best of the opening 6 fixtures of any team and in my mind thats going to get him in to my starting line up.
Agree or disagree??Open ControlsI'm currently on Pienaar myself but growing to the idea of Michu more&more. Also solves the Graham/Petric dilemma for me.
Open ControlsI am 100% with you on this, Michu will see the same opportunities in the Swans attack that Siggy received and that worked out pretty damn good IMO
Open Controls
Who do you expect to play both DGW fixtures for Chelsea:
A) Hazard
B) Torres
C) Mata
D) LampardOpen ControlsWhat do you think guys?
A) Maloney + Noble
or
B) Ireland + GuthrieOpen ControlsBloody hell! We have a noisy cricket on the house and, although I know where the bugger is, I just can't find him. This could be a sleepless night...
Open ControlsIs it a common field cricket or a snowy tree cricket?
Open ControlsAn Acheta domesticus (house cricket), no doubt.
Crickets chirp at different rates depending on their species and the temperature of their environment. Most species chirp at higher rates the higher the temperature is (approximately 62 chirps a minute at 13°C in one common species; each species has its own rate). The relationship between temperature and the rate of chirping is known as Dolbear's Law. According to this law, counting the number of chirps produced in 14 seconds by the snowy tree cricket common in the United States and adding 40 will approximately equal the temperature in degrees Fahrenheit
So the answer is simple: drop the temp in your house to below zero. Problem solved.Open Controls
