This afternoon, we have updated our Pre-Season Guide tab on the home page for Fantasy managers looking for some last-minute research ahead of Saturday’s kick-off:

Included are links to every pre-season game that has taken place, all our Scout Reports and Moving Target articles over the summer and extensive articles on each of the three promoted sides. In addition, we’ve added a brief “Scout Notes†synopsis of the main areas of concern for all 20 teams.

Below, we’ve listed the men in form in front of goal over the summer so far – nice to see Mauro Boselli in there, tempting us all with his pre-season goals once again..

6 – Danny Graham
5 – Mladen Petric and Billy Sharp
4 – Djibril Cisse and Sam Baldock
3 – Sergio Aguero, Yaya Toure, Steven Naismith, James Vaughan, Bobby Zamora, Shaun Wright-Phillips, Adam Le Fondre, Mauro Boselli

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

    B) Graham + Siggy + michu (leaving me 2m for torres to rooney)

    Team atm is:
    Ddg/fed
    ivanovic kosciely demel fonte hughes
    kagawa mata guthrie ?? ??

Yes, with rival getting 2 consecutive Rooney hatricks captained, while my captain Suarez was hitting the post several times a game, especially vs Bolton, yet due to baps system got nothing. Dark, dark days.

Anyone know whether Reither offers any sort of a goal/ assist threat? Any reason to choose him over Hangeland? Or should I just be choosing a 4.5 Fulham defender?

Hughes would be where the smart money is. We know what we're getting - nailed on, reasonable attacking threat and could get bonus points.

Hughes could offer value at some point in the season if 100% fit and others are injured. I'm not sure that applies at the moment as he's a slight doubt for GW1.

If he's confirmed fit it's tempting to save 0.5m though!

I hear you, boys, and I always do make my own calls. I've been around here since the first year and I've never asked for an RMT, but I'm looking to analyze this decision right to the deadline.

So, this is my team at the moment....

    Cech (Mignolet)
Lescott, Jones, Ivanovic, Clichy (Assou Ekotto)
Michu, Hazard (C), McAnuff (McClean, Miyaichi)
    Graham, Aguero, Cisse

Should I stick with this team?

    Another one for you....
As previously mentioned I have Kompany in my back line.... I also have Terry in obviously due to his goal threat. People suggested Zabaleta for Kompany to save £1.5...

1.) is Terry likely to be suspended by the F.A for his "racism"

2.) out of Ivanovic Cole Cahill and Luiz, are any likely to get anywhere near Terry in terms of points? I'd rather spend 0.5 more on Terry and get a much greater return.

    Thanks

      1) I would have thought so.
      2) Cole is the most nailed on, although with Bertrand coming through he might get the odd rest. Ivanovic will get the most points per game imo, but if Chelsea buy another RB (which they need) he could be rotated.

So Zabaleta and Ivanovic and save £2.0
Or Kompany and Terry and have a higher projected return? In your opinion

Zab and Cole for me actually.

Cole for the nailed-on-ness (one less thing to worry about!)

The 2m can be used to greater effect in midfield/up front IMO.

I see Micah Richards is said to have a "25% chance of playing" on the FPL website. Does this mean Zabaleta will play the first few gameweeks? Or are Clichy or Kolarov better 6mil options?

I am tempted as Arfa doesn't look like starting. But for a 4.5 we really need game time and not much else. I can see Britton getting a few 3 pointers if he plays consistently. Otherwise probably Guthrie.

Torres is a bit hit and miss, and the Chelsea midfield is giving me headaches.

Thinking of just going with Ivanovich, Terry and Cole A.

All sure to play 180 minutes and could bring in 36 points together with two clean sheets.

    £7.0m, £6.5m and £6.5m could represent much more value than £10.0m, £9.5m £9.0m

Also allows for different options in midfield and attack without planning GW2 transfers.

    Any thoughts on this?

Good luck fielding a decent defence in GW3.

I'd never triple up on any defence unless A) I was on a wildcard (suppose that applies here) B) The team in question were in amazing defensive form and C) They had at least one DGW and no blanks

You'd think CBs wouldn't be rotated but there is still no answer as to who will partner Vertonghen in the heart of the defence for Spurs? In pre-season it seems AVB has tried every single combo with the likes of Kaboul, Dawson AND Gallas getting a look-in. I don't want to pick the wrong one of Walker and BAE AGAIN and they're expensive 😕
