This afternoon, we have updated our Pre-Season Guide tab on the home page for Fantasy managers looking for some last-minute research ahead of Saturday’s kick-off:

Included are links to every pre-season game that has taken place, all our Scout Reports and Moving Target articles over the summer and extensive articles on each of the three promoted sides. In addition, we’ve added a brief “Scout Notes” synopsis of the main areas of concern for all 20 teams.

Below, we’ve listed the men in form in front of goal over the summer so far – nice to see Mauro Boselli in there, tempting us all with his pre-season goals once again..

6 – Danny Graham
5 – Mladen Petric and Billy Sharp
4 – Djibril Cisse and Sam Baldock
3 – Sergio Aguero, Yaya Toure, Steven Naismith, James Vaughan, Bobby Zamora, Shaun Wright-Phillips, Adam Le Fondre, Mauro Boselli

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Looking to finalise my team and am down to the last decision. I need a pair of midfielders for 11.0, who will be in rotation. The rest of my team is solid without too much risk so am happy to have a little punt with this part of the team.

    Thoughts so far include

    McClean/Kaca, Dyer/Ireland and Noble/Ireland.

    Any ideas?

Like the front line. Not sure about Nani in terms of value for money; Nasri will not play every week once Silva is up and running; Not sure I would play Allen over Larsson: Liverpool might have the easier fixture but Larsson is more likely to score.

Pog could do ok in the dgw. But if u plan to ship him it means keeping money in the bank as there are no ideal replacements in the 5mil range.
Also shipping him for graham seems a waste of a transfer when u could have graham from the start.

Graham seems a better long term option

    Evening all!

The influx of attacking players (eg.Kagawa, Hazard, Oscar, Podolski, Cazorla etc), added to the attacking intent of the last two seasons promoted sides, would all indicate that clean sheets may well be at a premium this season.

(The keepers are currently Friedel and Federici)

My defence started with a Man City and Chelsea defender, but has finally drifted to :-

    Rangel(Swa) - Mariappa(Rdg) - Cuellar(Sun) - Tomkins(Whm) - Boyce(Wig)

All should be regular picks and fixtures are reasonably kind until the beginning of November.

The new bonus system weighs heavily in favour of the eight attacking players, so this is where the investment has gone. Unfortunately the Chelseas double gameweek is perhaps clouding all our judgements from the off:-

    Lampard(Che) - Ramires(Che) - Noble(Whm) - Bale(Tot) - VDV(Tot)

    Tevez(Mcy) - Rooney(Mun) - Graham(Swa) (£0.5 in the bank.)

Rooney may become Torres before Sat morning, but starting with Rooney would allow Ramires -> NZogbia GW2, followed by Lampard -> Silva/Nasri/Kagawa/Valencia/Dempsey etc GW3, depending on bandwagon/price gain/form.
Spurs' great run of fixtures will have given fair indication as to who to keep out of Bale and VDV.

The prices of the midfielders and attackers will likely change the quickest and hopefully this gives me the best flexibility to build up the cash for later in the season. Starting with £0.5 in the bank helps with this.

The upgrades will come later, when the cash pile has hopefully increased and 25% of the season has been completed.

At various stages I have had Rafael/Clichy/Ivanovic in my defence, but the chances of a clean sheet are remote if they don't get regularly picked.....

Do we think it's been harder or more difficult to pick a team this year compared with last? For me, with the double with two underwhelming prospects (one cheap, one a rip off), a blank, a lack of defensive rotations, a lack of defenders between 5.5 and 6 and 4m defenders that stink more than a decomposing skunk with b.o, no keepers at 4m, managerial changes (I could go on), I've found my team has changed constantly. Last year, I was pretty settled early doors.

I have almost same team but without Zab- rot risk but overall +1

Aguero will reward u if u hand him the armband Carlos can't score from the bench!

so if RVP is at united, who gets bumped out of united's lineup? who'd you get for arsenal coverage?

I'd take RVP and giroud then, possibly gervinho

This may have been asked some time earlier, but....who is more nailed on and who is the more offensive minded: Gorkss or Mariappa.
