This afternoon, we have updated our Pre-Season Guide tab on the home page for Fantasy managers looking for some last-minute research ahead of Saturday’s kick-off:

Included are links to every pre-season game that has taken place, all our Scout Reports and Moving Target articles over the summer and extensive articles on each of the three promoted sides. In addition, we’ve added a brief “Scout Notes” synopsis of the main areas of concern for all 20 teams.

Below, we’ve listed the men in form in front of goal over the summer so far – nice to see Mauro Boselli in there, tempting us all with his pre-season goals once again..

6 – Danny Graham
5 – Mladen Petric and Billy Sharp
4 – Djibril Cisse and Sam Baldock
3 – Sergio Aguero, Yaya Toure, Steven Naismith, James Vaughan, Bobby Zamora, Shaun Wright-Phillips, Adam Le Fondre, Mauro Boselli

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Yep fit and raring to go. He will start but the problem comes in the form of Douglas who I expect us to sign at the end of the transfer window (staying in Holland until Aug 24th so he qualifies to play for their national team)

I'm slowly going off Valencia more and more with the news of jones injury. Can see him starting the season right back. Replace with cazorla or nani? Would be a struggle to get an extra 0.5 for mata

Rafael will play right back. There's no reason why they would play one of their best midfielders OOP when they have perfectly good cover.

    Federici (Begovic)

    ColeA Hangeland Clichy (Demel Cuellar)

    Bale Hazard Piennar Noble (Maloney)

    Torres Aguero Petric

Left with 2m in the bank to do Torres-->Rooney come GW2

ok, think i'm pretty much settled now
--> Try and break this team apart

    Mignolet - Schwarzer
    Zab - A Cole - Fabio - Gorkss - Demel
    Kagawa - Cazorla - Ramires - Nolan - Miyaichi
    Bent - Tevez - Aguero
    (0.5 in bank)

    GW 2: Ramires --> Sinclair/Michu
Later: Downgrade/upgrade one of Aguero/Tevez to Tottenham Striker (which i presume will be settled then ) or Rooney (Obviously this one only goes with using the extra 0.5 to upgrade Aguero)

    and....GO

Why? I would think they would split the goals between them far too much. In previous seasons they have both been the focal point of both their teams hence all the goals. In the same team their output is going to be far lower. The transfer has just made me put Aguero back in my team.

i am holding 3mil to get rvp in just in case but i think he will struggle at first in a new team and with all the distractions that the transfer has brought. i'm sure he's been training but probably not match fit yet. as for how they will be positioned i think rooney will probably be playing back, much like he did last year, with rvp on top, taking welbeck's spot and he will probably get pens as well since rooney has missed a bunch last season and that one against barca in the preseason as well.

Marveaux will almost certainly start the season, as Barfa will likely miss at least the first game, and will then be eased in from the bench. He has the quality to earn a nice little run in the team, and the fact that he can cover injuries to the strikers as well as barfa, might help him to stay in the team. I would say he is defenitely worth the risk, especially if you are planning an early WC. Should make a few quid on him too

I think United will use a simple 442 if RVP joins. Kagawa has played cm before, and he makes a great box-box midfielder. An RVP and Rooney strikeforce could be formidable, both are creative players who can pass the ball well, and both are great finishers. Deadly.

    Valencia Kagawa Carrick Nani
    ...............RVP Rooney

So, I have up to 7m to spend on a midfielder.

    I have Pienaar.
Not totally convinced by N'Zogbia after last year
I have Graham up front so not too interested in Michu or Sinclair just yet.
Larsson, perhaps but a new striker and Sunderland could go either way for him.
Not a huge fan of McClean

If this rvp to united is true, then I feel really sorry for chiquita and danny w. What a waste of talent.

I don't think RVP going to Man u should affect Rooney too negatively. He will probably get more assists and in general, United will be a stronger attacking force scoring more goals. If you have to choose one, I'd go with Rooney because he is cheaper and RVP surely cannot do as well as last season.

It'll be close enough I think. Rooney will be on penalties but RVP will get more goals from open play. I think i'll start off with Rooney anyway.

So, asuming RVP goes to Man U how does this effect Kagawa's gametime, and will he still (as anticipated) play in the hole?

I hope so. I hope RVP doesn't go. United's team sheet is hard enough to predict as it is.

Trying to predict United's attacking lineup will be like trying to pick the winning lottery numbers.

Just makes sense really... If 22m really has been offered I don't see how Arsenal can turn that down. They would lumber themselves with a player who doesn't want to play, pay his huge wage demands for a year, then he leaves for nothing.
