This afternoon, we have updated our Pre-Season Guide tab on the home page for Fantasy managers looking for some last-minute research ahead of Saturday’s kick-off:

Included are links to every pre-season game that has taken place, all our Scout Reports and Moving Target articles over the summer and extensive articles on each of the three promoted sides. In addition, we’ve added a brief “Scout Notes” synopsis of the main areas of concern for all 20 teams.

Below, we’ve listed the men in form in front of goal over the summer so far – nice to see Mauro Boselli in there, tempting us all with his pre-season goals once again..

6 – Danny Graham
5 – Mladen Petric and Billy Sharp
4 – Djibril Cisse and Sam Baldock
3 – Sergio Aguero, Yaya Toure, Steven Naismith, James Vaughan, Bobby Zamora, Shaun Wright-Phillips, Adam Le Fondre, Mauro Boselli

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Someone mentioned earlier that Westwood might affect Mignolet's match time. I don't agree with this. What are your thoughts?

Apologies for the previous post's poor structure and mistakes!

Alright gents, bear with me on this one as it is out of left field, but with RVP likely to go to MU I’m thinking about a team as follows for my son. Albeit this is my first attempt at FPL, I write risk assessments and cost benefit analyses for a living and will also try to apply experience in Aussie Rules fantasy to this.

#1 assumtion is that RVP and Rooney will masacre lesser teams. I know they are high priced but with Kagari in and Vidic back they are likely to get plenty of opportunities???
    Proposed team therefore is:

    Ruddy (Al-Habasi) 9.5M
Zabaleta, Clark, Tierney, (Demel, Dawson) 22M
Mata. Pienaar, N’Zgobia, Michu (Kakacilinic) 33.5M
    Rooney, RVP, Torres (C) 35M

What are the experts thoughts on this???

Granted RVP may not play GW1 so put Tevez in there for a trade up option but it is unlikely that SAR will sit the best strker in the PL for any longer than that.

Am more interested in the concept of this different strategy

      Your mad! 😛

Rooney and RVP are priced as if they are the main goal contributor of their team. If RVP moves to United they will split goals between them and neither will be worth their huge price tags. I'm going for Tevez and Aguero myself, I can see them scoring just as much but for 4.5m less than RVP + Rooney.

Thanks guys, that's what I'm wanting to hear. So the consensus therefore is that RVP/Shrek will not be able to keep their 2011/2012 scoring ability in the same team? Does no one think that they will be beating up on the lesser sides with 6-8 goal hauls and therefore banking massive points?

Remember this is an out of left field concept as opposed to the "cookie cutter" teams that most will end up with.

Possible United set-up, 4-3-3 with Kagawa an advanced CM. A throwback to the Ronaldo-Tevez-Rooney era. I understand there will be big names on the bench but there will be in any case if RVP signs. I'm throwing it out there as I haven't seen this already suggested and is likelier than quite a few I've seen posted IMO.

    ----------------------De Gea
    ------------Rafael Vidic Evans Evra
    ------------------Carrick Cleverley

      Valencia--------------------------------Park

      -----------------Carrick---Scholes

Oh wait they dont own Park anymore, what was fergie thinking?

Evra LWB instead of Park, Smalling and Evans either side of Vidic and it seems to make sense with positions. But I don't recall Fergie ever playing 3 or 5 at the back so I doubt it.

I just think he would fit the system very well. I dont think ManU should start playing 3-5-2 though so he isnt needed.

Does the system depend on the LWer losing possession of the ball 6 times out of 10? 'Cuz if it does, then you're set. 😉

If anywhere, Park needs to be further up the pitch so his lost balls won't be too destructive.

Its deceptive, Park will spend most time running without the ball as everything goes through Valencia, and when he mucks up Evra will deal with it as he always does.

Park was incredibly underrated and I think it was more him wanting first team football than Fergie wanting rid of him.

I'm not sold on Kagawa as a CM in a 442 but he did play there in the last pre-season friendly. This seems to be the most popular set-up but this 433 could be used as an alternative, especially as Fergies's typical "big-team" formation.

Rafael, Carrick and Cleverley will not be starting in GW1, valencia not that far forward, kagawa is right, Nani and Valencia on the wings and possibly Scholes playing as a holding midfielder. I expect maybe Rio is to be chosen above Rafael for a few weeks!

Everyone! Robin van Persie is holding serious talks with Manchester United, after Arsenal finally agreeing to let him go. He is as good as a United player, although it is Unofficial. They are still negotiating over the fee but by the weekend they will announce it, currently Arsenal want 25M however Man U are looking more into the range of 22M. Arsenal are looking into the Belgian - Kevin Mirallas. Reports suggest he could be on the way the Arsenal as a replacement. The player himself said he was indeed in talks with Arsenal, and any rumours that may exist ARE true! NOW is the time to start thinking about possible fantasy transfers before the deadline! This is sure to change many teams, and the inevitable Torres, to Rooney transfer. Who will play, both? If so who will be dropped? What's your opinion???
