As the transfer window edges a little nearer to closing, David Moyes continued to bolster Evertonโ€™s attacking options with the purchase of Belgian international Kevin Mirallas from Olympiacos on a four- year contract. The 24-year old arrives at Goodison Park in a deal rumoured to be around ยฃ5m and is the Toffeesโ€™ third acquisition of the summer, following the signings of Steven Pienaar and Steven Naismith:

David Moyes has wasted little time in his quest to re-invest the cash acquired for the sale of Jack Rodwell to Man City and the Everton boss was delighted to clinch Mirallasโ€™ signature after a host of clubs were linked with a move for the player. Speaking to the clubโ€™s official website upon completion of the move, Moyes explained:

We’re really pleased to get Kevin. He’ll hopefully add a bit of quality to the squad, give us some more options and we need him. We’ve lost one of two players so we’re delighted to get Kevin in.

The Statistics

Mirallasโ€™ career began as a youth in his native country with Standard Liege but he was snapped up by French outfit Lille before he could make a single first-team appearance. Mirallas struggled to establish himself as a regular over his four seasons at the Ligue 1 club, however, and, although he finally nailed down a place in his final campaign, a return of 10 goals and seven assists in 76 appearances saw him sold to St Etienne in the summer of 2008.

The Belgian continued to struggle during his time in France, however; over two campaigns with โ€œLes Vertsโ€ he managed a mere three goals and three assists in 53 league matches before making his way to Olympiacos on a one-year loan deal. Mirallas was an instant impact in his new surroundings โ€“14 goals and a trio of assists in 27 games saw him fire the club to the league title and earn a permanent contract at the Greek outfit. Last term he was even more clinical, with 20 goals and seven assists in 25 matches helping the club retain the title. Mirallas has represented his country at every level from Under 16 to Under 21 and has scored five times in 26 appearances for the Belgian senior side.

The Prospects

Thereโ€™s no doubt Mirallas will add a much-need attacking threat to a Toffees side that struggled to find the net last term until the January arrival of Nikica Jelavic from Glasgow Rangers. His versatility could be key in assessing the 6 foot Belgianโ€™s game time โ€“ he can play on either wing, in โ€œthe holeโ€ or also lead the line. At the moment, itโ€™s a case of โ€œwait and seeโ€ and bearing in mind he was signed after the deadline to be eligible for last nightโ€™s United match, we could see our first glimpse at the weekend away to Villa.

Intriguingly, Mirallas was used to great effect as an inverted winger on the left by Olympiacos, cutting inside on to his favoured right foot to devastating effect. Such a move could see Pienaar used more centrally โ€“ itโ€™s worth noting that the South African briefly featured in โ€œthe holeโ€ in a pre-season match and with Moyes keen to ease Naismith back into fitness after the summer signing spent much of last season injured at Rangers, itโ€™s certainly an option. Alternatively, Mirallas could tuck in behind Jelavic in Moyesโ€™ preferred 4-5-1 – a move which would see compatriot Marouane Fellaini drop into a deeper role – or he could move to the right, where his arrival could well impact on the likes of Leon Osman.

Mirallas has yet to be added to any of the Fantasy games, with his classification key to how we assess him. A price between 6.5 and 7.5 perhaps seems the likeliest of outcomes in Fantasy Premier League (FPL) regardless of classification, though with Pienaar at 6.5 and Jelavic 8.5, heโ€™ll face a struggle to oust either in many a Fantasy managersโ€™ estimations.

With their home clash against United now out the way, Everton now face a tricky schedule that sees them hit the road in five of the next seven Gameweeks. Bearing in mind that one of their two home matches is against Newcastle, Fantasy managers will be content to keep their distance, holding back any major investment in Mirallas until his place within Moyesโ€™ plans becomes far more apparent.

OK regarding Ade's possible price change. He is technically about to fall on TFPL, but his ownership is so low (1.5%) that there's a lot of error involved so who knows!

You have plenty of days to wait anyway!

BTW 226 people transferred in Ade earlier today. Did they know, or were they stupid?

You know my honest thoughts - I was incredibly frustrated with Ade last year for his inconsistency (as Menly pointed out). But at the same time, he looks so damn good in that price bracket now. And he does contribute much more than Defoe does to attacking play, with a bunch of assists too. Great at holding up the ball and will improve Spurs attack as a whole - Bale might be on for some joy.

For sure, I do believe they missed him against Newcastle. The ideal solution IMO would be Siggy and Sandro in the central midfield two, Bale VDV Lennon in the attacking three and Ade up front. Siggy driving forward from deep and smashing in from long range.

A: How do they come to the Influence figure
B: How do they come to the Creativity figure
C: When looking at the appeal of players, is the ICT index score the best way to determine whether a player should be signed, or do you look at other individual aspects (Not including the obvious, actual goals, assists etc?

but a tight away game is exactly where Yaya may end up driving forward, he's great in the big games, not to mention liverpool are without agger and even if they play well they'll likely concede

In this situation i'd just operate on the basis of price and a lot of players being in the same game and drop Nolan.

With Ferdinand, Aguero, Torres, Hazard and A. Cole in my team, any advice on how I should play out my transfers until GW3? By the looks of it I might get rid of Aguero and Rio and leave all of my Chelsea players on the bench in GW3. Not sure whether that is such a great idea.

    Which one is more important?
    a) Rio -> Ridgewell/Vidic/Distin/Kaboul/Boyce
    b) Aguero -> RVP/Tevez

I currently only have DDG for United cover. Which of the following options would you go with:

    A. Mata to Kagawa

    B. Torres to Rooney or RVP. I would also have to transfer Pienaar to a 4.5 mid to afford this option and so take a 4 point hit.

    C. Neither and hope United dont do much against Fulham.

    Ade... price fall to 9.4
Ade... not fit to start Gw2 yet
    Ade... people jerk him out
    Ade... price fall to 9.3
    Ade... declared to start Gw3
Get him in cheap for Gw3.. ๐Ÿ™‚

It'd be nice for things to move as plan, but we know it won't be like this.. ๐Ÿ™‚

It seems the rules have changed on price rises. Previously players coming in from abroad were protected, but obviously Michu has proved that this is no longer the case... ๐Ÿ˜•

I think it might still apply to new signings after the game has started.

The fact Michu came in before the season probably meant he was fine for rises and falls out the door.

I go away for 4 days,
    Ramires gets sick
    Torres hasn't scored yet
Graham gets nothing in a 5-0 win
    Aguero gets injured
    City concede 2.

Ade might not play straight away, I assume RK is you 5th mid so this gives you issues who to bench going forward and Kaggy wasn't all that great IMO.
