As the transfer window edges a little nearer to closing, David Moyes continued to bolster Evertonโ€™s attacking options with the purchase of Belgian international Kevin Mirallas from Olympiacos on a four- year contract. The 24-year old arrives at Goodison Park in a deal rumoured to be around ยฃ5m and is the Toffeesโ€™ third acquisition of the summer, following the signings of Steven Pienaar and Steven Naismith:

David Moyes has wasted little time in his quest to re-invest the cash acquired for the sale of Jack Rodwell to Man City and the Everton boss was delighted to clinch Mirallasโ€™ signature after a host of clubs were linked with a move for the player. Speaking to the clubโ€™s official website upon completion of the move, Moyes explained:

We’re really pleased to get Kevin. He’ll hopefully add a bit of quality to the squad, give us some more options and we need him. We’ve lost one of two players so we’re delighted to get Kevin in.

The Statistics

Mirallasโ€™ career began as a youth in his native country with Standard Liege but he was snapped up by French outfit Lille before he could make a single first-team appearance. Mirallas struggled to establish himself as a regular over his four seasons at the Ligue 1 club, however, and, although he finally nailed down a place in his final campaign, a return of 10 goals and seven assists in 76 appearances saw him sold to St Etienne in the summer of 2008.

The Belgian continued to struggle during his time in France, however; over two campaigns with โ€œLes Vertsโ€ he managed a mere three goals and three assists in 53 league matches before making his way to Olympiacos on a one-year loan deal. Mirallas was an instant impact in his new surroundings โ€“14 goals and a trio of assists in 27 games saw him fire the club to the league title and earn a permanent contract at the Greek outfit. Last term he was even more clinical, with 20 goals and seven assists in 25 matches helping the club retain the title. Mirallas has represented his country at every level from Under 16 to Under 21 and has scored five times in 26 appearances for the Belgian senior side.

The Prospects

Thereโ€™s no doubt Mirallas will add a much-need attacking threat to a Toffees side that struggled to find the net last term until the January arrival of Nikica Jelavic from Glasgow Rangers. His versatility could be key in assessing the 6 foot Belgianโ€™s game time โ€“ he can play on either wing, in โ€œthe holeโ€ or also lead the line. At the moment, itโ€™s a case of โ€œwait and seeโ€ and bearing in mind he was signed after the deadline to be eligible for last nightโ€™s United match, we could see our first glimpse at the weekend away to Villa.

Intriguingly, Mirallas was used to great effect as an inverted winger on the left by Olympiacos, cutting inside on to his favoured right foot to devastating effect. Such a move could see Pienaar used more centrally โ€“ itโ€™s worth noting that the South African briefly featured in โ€œthe holeโ€ in a pre-season match and with Moyes keen to ease Naismith back into fitness after the summer signing spent much of last season injured at Rangers, itโ€™s certainly an option. Alternatively, Mirallas could tuck in behind Jelavic in Moyesโ€™ preferred 4-5-1 – a move which would see compatriot Marouane Fellaini drop into a deeper role – or he could move to the right, where his arrival could well impact on the likes of Leon Osman.

Mirallas has yet to be added to any of the Fantasy games, with his classification key to how we assess him. A price between 6.5 and 7.5 perhaps seems the likeliest of outcomes in Fantasy Premier League (FPL) regardless of classification, though with Pienaar at 6.5 and Jelavic 8.5, heโ€™ll face a struggle to oust either in many a Fantasy managersโ€™ estimations.

With their home clash against United now out the way, Everton now face a tricky schedule that sees them hit the road in five of the next seven Gameweeks. Bearing in mind that one of their two home matches is against Newcastle, Fantasy managers will be content to keep their distance, holding back any major investment in Mirallas until his place within Moyesโ€™ plans becomes far more apparent.

Hi guys!Who can tell me how team value works in transfer area???My team value is 100.2m now and I have Tevez 9.1 and Michu 6.6 in my team but when I want to sell them I can do this for 9.0 and 6.5 respectively like it was before price rises...So where are the 0.2 million gone?

You only make half the price rise. If they go up again then you can sell them for 0.1 more.

Anyone considering getting in Jelavic for Aguero over Rooney/RVP ?

Well, I cannot afford RVP and don't think Rooney is good value for money, I reckon he'll play behind RVP . Would do Ireland to Kagawa/Valencia in GW3 for United coverage . Or do you suggest to do the sideway transfer and get Tevez ?

48 with 4 still to play, could be worse. Already did Lamps to Michu leaving 2.5m in the bank and my team looking like this:
    Friedel Fed
    Lescott A.Cole Clyne Demel Hangeland
    Yaya Michu Noble Taarbt Kagawa
    Bent Tevez Torres
Should I take a 4 point hit and do any more transfers? also, who should I bench for the coming GW?

Wow, this site moves fast. To answer the earlier question as to where I disappear to... Work sometimes beckons, eBay's not gonna check itself, and then there's various retro game forums and projects to be eyed up.

I'm currently budgeting what to get with my bonus, and new furniture and bed stuff comes first, but there's a bunch of other stuff I can't really get this month. I have a project to make a portablised console, but I can't afford all the bits yet, and it involves making a vacuum forming table, clay and a bunch of parts. It may even be a stretch to buy it all next month.

And then there's the 3D printer I was considering making...

As for women, well it's been crazy. I've been doing better and better. There's one chick who's really into me, but I'm not too keen, a really hot french girl who's now sadly gone, a girl who got my number 2 saturdays ago after I danced to thriller (but hasn't called me :(), the hairdressers I insulted by accident, and the super-hot bimbo I said smelled like dog.

All worthy stories, and all in the last 3 weeks.

Torres to RVP and Rio to Hibbert or Valencia to Michu?

Rip Van Persie went to sleep after taking a corner against Everton, but he should be much better against lesser teams and after a few games - or even training sessions - it's not like he was used to playing with ManUers.

I'm struggling with this RVP V's Rooney transfer.

Bookies favor RVP as first goalscorer and Man U are the odds on favorite of all teams to win at home.

It feels a bit like though just because I have saved 3mil I have to use it - when I also like the look of defoe this weekend and could just downgrade torres sit on a big lump of 5mil cash. Its tricky

U will transfer Defoe out pretty soon anyway, stay away..
I will do Torres - Van Persie (3.5 saved) and follow thru with my plan, I will regret it if I dont.. stick to it!

Rooney will be deeper at home than last season with RVP there. Im going RVP, even if he's not guaranteed to start every game, still feel he will outscore Rooney comfortably

How’s this team looking for GW2 guys?

    Begovic (Jussi)
    Ivan Zab Rafael Cuellar (Clyne)
    VDV Michu Yaya Noble (Ahmadi)
    Podolski Torres (Aguero)

Already used my FT and want to ditch the Kun tonight before the price drop. Options include:

    Aguero>Tevez,Rooney or RVP

    Thoughts?

Continuing my theme of sizing up unorthodox Aguero replacements (I already have Tevez) ... Balotelli. What's the situation with him? Surely he has a decent chance of gametime now? Mankini adores him and he was quite full-on in the Euros.

    federici

    gorkss - lescott - ivanovic

michu - kagawa - Noble - yaya toure

    Rooney(c) - Petric - Tevez(v)

    subs

    Ruddy - Hangelaand - Demel - Hazard

made a poor team choice this week leaving out hazard, hangelaand and demel

im going to make a change to one of my keepers dependent on the defensive form of norwich (not going to jump ship straight away as they did well in preseason)

anyone have any suggestions as to who to pick for gw2 from my team?

think ive got a strong enough squad to cope without any changes and maybe introduce a player not picked by many to up my points
thinking about taarabt for 1 week only (GW2) against norwich as qpr did look a threat and taarabt was the main guy with most shots on target.

    what does everyone think?

yeah if im completely honest i was a bit wasted on friday night when i made my final alterations and meant to leave michu on the bench to see how he would get on in the first gameweek and have hazard on instead so although it was idiotic its kinda worked out.

dunno if hell get a lot of gametime against reading with newcastle coming up and chelseas plans to start resting mata i reckon hazard might not play much against reading to keep him fit

        hazard - see above

aye well I watched the game and taarabt had a fair few chances and hes always looking for goal. thinki he had more shots on goal than any swansea player. and although swansea were awesome i think 5-0 flattered them a bit. qpr could have had a few goals themselves and im only thinking of a transfer i cud make that has been picked by a low % of managers but potentially could get me some ok points next week
