The first gameweek of the season concludes tonight at Stamford Bridge, as Chelsea look to take an early lead at the top of the Premier League with victory over Reading. Their commitments in next week’s Super Cup brought this fixture forward, and the Dugout Discussion opens in anticipation of delightful double-gameweek points.

The team news for tonight’s encounter is in, and the sides will line-up as follows…

Chelsea XI: Cech, Ivanovic, Cahill, Terry, Cole, Lampard, Ramires, Mikel, Mata, Hazard, Torres.

Reading XI: Federici, Gunter, Pearce, Leigertwood, Harte, Karacan, McAnuff, Guthrie, Gorkss, Pogrebnyak, McCleary.

Both teams make two changes from their opening day line-ups. For the hosts, Ramires has recovered from the illness that kept him out at Wigan, with Ryan Bertrand making way, and Gary Cahill replaces the injured David Luiz. Reading replace Hal Robson-Kanu and Adam Le Fondre with Jem Karacan and Garath McCleary.

    Very pleased that I have Lamps, furious I captained Fernando. For most of pre season I didn't even have Torres in my team then got caught up on the bandwagon out of fear of a huge score, suppose that's the difference between having a solid team and a great one xD

    Well (c) Mata looks a fail. Nice to get points off Guthrie - though I've already transferred him out for Michu ... maybe should have waited? Though then wouldn't have gained from the price rise. Cest la vie.

    ahhhh...my great luck continues into a new season - the below luck must have cost me about 100 points last season

    Guthie on the bench. Cummings in defence and not playing but Guthie wont come on as I have 4 mids and 3 strikers on.

    I hate this game!

        I hardly think its a schoolboy error when I had Lampard, Toure, Pienaar and Siggy. Just because a player is double gameweek it doesnt mean they should always play it!

    Hazard and Lamps are pissing me off, specially Hazard. No one has Lamps in mini league.

    On other hand that Guthrie free kick should see me beat Isacki. UEFA tie is in balance now, he has Guthrie and Pig
