The first gameweek of the season concludes tonight at Stamford Bridge, as Chelsea look to take an early lead at the top of the Premier League with victory over Reading. Their commitments in next week’s Super Cup brought this fixture forward, and the Dugout Discussion opens in anticipation of delightful double-gameweek points.

The team news for tonight’s encounter is in, and the sides will line-up as follows…

Chelsea XI: Cech, Ivanovic, Cahill, Terry, Cole, Lampard, Ramires, Mikel, Mata, Hazard, Torres.

Reading XI: Federici, Gunter, Pearce, Leigertwood, Harte, Karacan, McAnuff, Guthrie, Gorkss, Pogrebnyak, McCleary.

Both teams make two changes from their opening day line-ups. For the hosts, Ramires has recovered from the illness that kept him out at Wigan, with Ryan Bertrand making way, and Gary Cahill replaces the injured David Luiz. Reading replace Hal Robson-Kanu and Adam Le Fondre with Jem Karacan and Garath McCleary.

      Yeah that was gas with guthrie scoring. he only averages one in ten!
      I transferred him out for Michu earlier this week too! It was either him or mata. Should have been Mata!

    was pissed that hazard gave up my torres assist until I realized he set up an ivanovic goal!! :D.
    that goal puts me 1pt ahead of yossi pre-bonus and i've got torres ivanovic vs his terry mata

    on another note, kinda pissed i let people on here talk me out of hazard and instead got mata. my fault though cuz at the end of the day its your team not anyone else's. hopefully i'll learn from that

      Yeah, Mata over Hazard stings for me too. I can't blame anybody else though I probably switched them back and forth a dozen times in the week before the season started.

      Haha I was thinking the same. At first I thought Torres bombed forward to get on the end of it then I was gutted it wasn't him only to realise that Ivanovic was being a boss again 🙂

      I went for Lamps as he was in the middle of the Mata/Hazard debate. Definitely turned out that way.
