Eden Hazard is the main provider for Chelsea in a thrilling 4-2 win over Reading. Penalty duties bring Frank Lampard another respectable Fantasy score, Branislav Ivanovic notches in back-to back matches, while even Fernando Torres gets amongst the goals – sweet relief for a huge number of armband owners.

Eden Hazard
The Belgian continued in the same vein as Sunday’s game at Wigan and has wasted no time in announcing himself to Fantasy managers as a strong source of points amongst the Chelsea midfield conundrum. Having supplied assists for three Chelsea goals in last night’s narrow victory over Reading, Hazard now has five to his name already in a superb start to life at Stamford Bridge. Neck and neck for ownership with Juan Mata leading into Gameweek 1, Hazard’s more direct role for the Blues looks set to see him rocket in ownership despite a blank Gameweek 3 – the Spaniard, on the other hand, still seems lethargic from a lack of a summer break; the upcoming international break will be crucial to his chances of returning to the Fantasy force we were accustomed to last season.

Fernando Torres
Finally, he produced. It was just a single goal but the overwhelming armband favourite gave us something to smile about with a tap-in to put Chelsea 3-2 ahead. With Frank Lampard once again benefitting from spot-kick duties and Hazard dazzling as part of the attacking midfield three, Torres could struggle to keep his place in many a team – with the blank Gameweek 3 to follow, his home clash against Newcastle this weekend could be his final game for plenty of Fantasy teams as we begin to reassess our frontline options.

Branislav Ivanovic
Notching for the second successive match, the Serbian is now just one goal off equalling last term’s tally after slotting home the fourth last night. Like Hazard, his displays over the two games have earned Ivanovic a price rise prior to the game against Newcastle but with Chelsea still heavily expected to bring another right-back to the club, question marks are still against his long-term prospects. If the Blues fail to bring in someone else for his position, though, Ivanovic’s 6.6 price tag is unlikely to deter many.

Pavel Pogrebnyak
The Russian made his way into 17% of Fantasy teams ahead of the double Gameweek and, despite a change of tactics from Brian McDermott, Pogrebnyak kept his place in the side as Reading moved to 4-5-1; perhaps a sign of McDermott’s formation for away matches. His Premier League record of a goal every two games continued last night; Pogrebnyak had previously scored six in 12 for Fulham and a towering header at the Bridge suggests he could be a very handy cut-price third striker in FPL, at just 5.0.

I have Bale, Lampard, Tevez, Torres

I'd like to have Hazard, Cazorla, Siggy, Kagawa for my midfield, but as this game is won/lost by captains, it's obvious that there is no way I can go without Rooney or Rvp more that gw2.

    Right?

No - Ade, and Tevez will be as good odds as RVP and ROO to score pts gw 3, and they have the benefit of not having to plit the points as much as that ManU pair. Both Tevez and Ade will be on pks. Prob Roo on PKS, but why give yourself headache of which one to choose when there are other good options that are cheaper in those GW's. I think Kagawa should be involved in the assists either way and may get the odd goal. I honestly think he is the safest Man U coverage there is.

        thanks for your input
I don't speak only gw3, but more longterm.
I just think there would be that warm and safe feeling when you can put C for Rvp or Roo.
With Ade you have to be prepaired to get 2/week 4 weeks in a row and and then suddenly hat-trick + couple of assists.

Cazorla was bloody sharp on the weekend and played more dangerous balls compared to that of Rooney and Kagawa, his pass succession rate was also the highest of the three! Watched the game myself and thought he looked a million dollars on his debut.

Cazorla feeding Giroud, Podolski - unproven EPL talents - Valencia playing RB and vying for spots on wing with Nani, A. Young - Kagawa most likely for gametime can play in the hole feeding 2 EPL top strikers (scored 21 goals in 49 games at Dortmund) - I would say Kagawa edges over the other 2 and is cheaper

    1FT, nothing in the bank.

Regretting big time to go lighter in midfield now - no obvious routes out unless I take a hit.

Was thinking getting rid of Ivanovic (in light of the blank next week) for a Swansea defender and then shifting out Maloney for McClean?

Or I could get rid of Cazrola for Michu and then do the Maloney > McClean switch?

Hard to say as they didn't look great but I think they may try a 4-3-1-2 with Kagawa in the hole and Scholes Carrick and Cleverly deep. and use Evra and Valencia to get up the flanks.. but that means dropping Nani and Young (both of which played poor against Everton though)

Nani does seem out of sorts - what's your reasoning for RVP over Rooney out of interest?

Re your Chico vs Ridgewell, I think Ridgewell is probably the more proven FPL pointscoring option but agree Chico's near term fixtures are stronger (plus he has goal threat) so he is probably the one to go for now. I will probably be making that choice for GW3.

    Chico or Ridgewell?

Chico looked good in the air at set pieces vs. QPR.
Ridgewell looked Cahill-esque in pressing forward, and is good in the air.

Looking to bring in some Untied coverage and am mulling over whether Torres will start at the weekend after another poor performance and the fact that Sturridge provided some spark when he came on. My two options are.

    Bannan to Kags (play Torres)

    or

    Torres to RVP/Rooney (play Bannan)

    Cheers for any feedback.

Torres will probably start. But if it is not for a hit than id get Rooney or RVP for him.

It is for a hit, which is why the Bannan to Kags appeals. Bannan did not even start last week.

Torres should be fine to start against the Toon, since no united coverage I'd go for Bannan to Kaggy

RDM has much benevolence for him and really doesn't like Sturridge.

I'm pretty much decided that Mata is the one on whom the axe will fall on my team this week.

I had a crazy idea to have both VDV and Bale in my team for this weekend. Surely at home, after a defeat, VDV is set for a recall?

Having decided not to do a transfer, I changed my mind last night after watching Mata toil for 90 minutes. I'm not sure a home game against Newcastle can save him.

Advice needed, need to lose some Chelsea in time for GW3, currently Ivan, Mata, Torres, team linked:

A)Transfer mata out for someone this week, who?
    B) Transfer Torres out for someone this week, who?
    C) Sit tight, gain valuable info this weekend and decide on two or three transfers next week.
    d) Other

      A for me:

I have the same 3 Chelsea - getting rid of Mata for Kagawa/Nasri this week (plus Mata will drop in price today)

I then plan to ship Torres > Ade next week and hang on to Ivan....

    DDG (Green)

    Zabaleta-Jenkinson-Cole-(Enrique-Hangeland)

    Hazard-Bale-Yaya-Dyer-(Noble)

    Tevez-Pog-Ade

    Thoughts?

With vdv likely to fall during the next update and unsure of playing time, is it worth to take a hit to remove him?
Who would be the best replacement for him and do we think that siggy's price will also drop in the coming few days?

    Thanks
