We may have suffered inauspicious starts to the season but there’s no denying it, we just love Fantasy Football.

For all his grumpiness and bile, Granville’s enthusiasm spills over as we both dive into the hot topics of the week: Juan Mata’s decline, Eden Hazard’s rise, the Rooney vs Van Persie question, whether Granville is the dopey one.

All these issues and more are addressed in the next 38-minutes, along with the return of All Aboard, the weekend preview and the first decisions to be made with the ailing ScoutCast XI. It’s my turn to play Pat Rice to Granville’s Arsene Wenger this week and, to script, I prove to be more of a hindrance than a help.

Indulge in the lovefest via this link or, alternatively, get streaming using the handy player below.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

i took out mata for hazard and took a 4 point hit..
i think itll be worth it tho , rdm plans on resting mata , hazards on form and seems like an assist machine!
also, i did it wen he was priced at 9.5 and now his price will only rise.
    thoughts?

Hazard will even out. He had a good first week but I'd personally have sat tight, especially with him missing GW 3. That said you needed to get mata out I agree. He looks tired and we all got sucker punched into picking him.

      My initial thought/ thoughts;

You've replaced one Chelsea player with another Chelsea player for a hit.

Chelsea do not have a game in GW3.

Good luck. Just gotta pray he continues his great form against Newcastle. Not impossible and your move may well pay off. Plus if it does you'll have gained a few prices rises as well.

Having said all that i couldn't bring myself to do it. That blank is just too off putting. I'll be making provisions to have him in by GW4 though!

    Current forward line of

    Tevez. Torres. Graham

How many goals between them will be scored this gw?

    Is 3 optimistic?

Tevez and Torres are slightly doubtful, but let's say Tevez 1 goal as he is playing liverpool 😛
Graham I'm hoping for a michu-esque performance but would be happy with a goal at the least
So perhaps three is a bit optimistic

Speaking from an intuitive perspective, 2 goals from Graham seems very likely for me as well as he's missed out being a part of any of those 5 goals and he just might lift up this one.

Intresting. This type of post makes we want to take a hit.
But when I post the question..is it worth a hit to bring Rooney for Torres it seems the sensible option is to sit tight.

Good in the air but not very good on the physio's table, which is where he usually spends half the season. Such a frustrating player because when he's fit and gets decent service he converts chances.

So you basically need to take two hits before GW3 to have 11 scoring players then.
          What about Mata->Kagawa for GW2.
Then Torres->Rooney/RVP (based on GW2 performance) for GW3 before price rises and Cerny to Ruddy/Green/Begovic/Jaask.

                Mata to kagawa free transfer

torres to Rooney or RVP 4 point hit

If that would be my team I would do
                    Mata->Kagawa, Torres->Rooney (C), for GW2 with a 4 pt hit
and would decide on who to bring in for Cerny after weekend's games.

Also, someone just wrote that Mata's price dropped. Thus you basically can't afford RVP or Vorm anymore.

Hey all, Been popping in and out of the comments tonight (exam in 5 hours :/ )

Anyway i was just wondering, how many of you use Twitter for FPL related content, I have recently been considering tweeting about my team and transfer changes/decisions I make, but i wanna get a feel for how many people would actually follow something like that?

It would be strictly FPL content, and whilst i may not have the best pedigree (although i had a great season last season), i feel it may be a better way to share info with people with a common interest (such as yourselves) when compared to these comment sections which fly so fast and have 60%+ of the info repeated and discussions cut short.

So hands up if you think i should do it? Or Thumbs down if you think it's a poo idea 😛

Used my FT (Kun > Tevez) and this is my current team:

    DDG (Fed)
    Zab Clyne Ivanovic (Demel, Hughes)
    Bale(C) Dyer Lampard N'Zog (Kaca)
    Torres Tevez Graham

Without taking a hit my GW3 team looks fairly horrible and I expected I might have to take an early hit. Is it wortk doing Torres > RVP for a hit this week? Then next week I'll use my FT on Lampard or Ivan and bench the other

Considering you have to take it sometime, it may well be worth it to do it now. United might well rebound against Fulham and RVP could/should be the main man. Else you can drop Lamps for Kag and for someone else up front.

No offense intended, but you almost did badly enough this week that the 4 point hit won't make a massive difference to your rank.

Although if you focus on H2H leagues at all you may want to weigh up who your opposition are in gw2 and 3 and who they have. Take the hit vs the weaker team obviously.

Tbh it's very hard to tell whether Jol sees Rod as a striker or competition on the flanks. Because he was injured in pre-season and didn't play much it's hard to say. He came on for Kaca in pre-season but then against Norwich he came on for Petric and played up top...

That's another thing, not entirely confident about captaining Bale so RVP (or Rooney) would ease that problem.

Out of interest Parm, why do you think Rooney is a better short term option? I haven't seen an awful lot of pre season but I saw the Everton game and he did look overweight/crap. I know he might be on pens but Fulham didn't give away a pen last season (I think we were the only prem team not too) and RVP will play higher up, no?

I think (although I'm not Parm 😛 ) that it would be because Rooney is better settled into the team, and is fully fit (will play 90 min). After his last pre-season game he may be on fks too, because he scored off on 1.

Predicting price changes will be difficult for Fiso and Total FPL for a few weeks, until they gather enough data, unless FPL towers has made no change to their criteria, which is unlikely as it would appear they don't want you to be able to predict price changes.

Personally would do it this week anyway, assuming you will do it next week with Ramires blank.

    Vorm
    Lescott-Hanger-A. Ferd.

still looks one of most dangerous in EPL - If he could just get his shooting boots straight he would be unstoppable - I think he will come good this season

I mean he did score 81 goals in 110 games for ajax and last year his first full season in EPL scored 11 goals with bans thrown in and hitting the post a million times - things will surely change for him.

            Haha
            Maybe
But as a united fan I hope his love affair with the woodwork continues 😀

other than the obvious reasons, he would have been a better fit for united than Kagawa or Van Persie.

    de Gea
    Zabaleta Jenkinson Rangel (Cole, Stevens)
Pienaar Silva Cazorla Michu (C) N'Zogbia
    Graham Tevez (Torres)

How is my team looking am I say not having Man utd or Tottenham attack?
Is there any transfer so obvious that I should take a hit for?
    Any substitution?

You may finding yourself hoping One of Silva, Tevez, or Cazorla dont start by the time the 26th comes up

In fact - Newcastle let in 22 goals in 8 games on the road last season to top 9 teams, including an end of season shutout to chelsea when RDM was saving starters for Champions League. (that makes it 22 goals in 7 games or over 3 goals conceded per game.) Dont think they will shut out chelsea again and Torres is good for his first real goal of the season..

Looks Good, Ballsy(c) choice, but that's because of the lack of Spuds I guess.
Nope IMO unless you've got money to do El Nino to Pig/Robin.
      Play Cole over Zabs.

    Put this problem another way:

Would you prefer to save ~1m on Dyer over Michu or save ~1m on Rooney over RVP?

Rooney + Michu > Dyer + RVP IMO

I would say Rooney. I've gotten RVP as a differential in my mini league though.

Most will say Rooney, but id prefer to save it on Dyer as I see RVP outscoring Rooney by a distance

Hmmm ... rooney vs rvp is a dilemma for me too
I want to go RVP as I'm sure he'll outscore rooney
Michu will outscore Dyer (almost guarenteed) but will their difference be greater than the difference between RVP/rooney ... too close to call IMO
If I liked taking risks I'd go for RVP and dyer ... tough call though IMO
