We may have suffered inauspicious starts to the season but there’s no denying it, we just love Fantasy Football.

For all his grumpiness and bile, Granville’s enthusiasm spills over as we both dive into the hot topics of the week: Juan Mata’s decline, Eden Hazard’s rise, the Rooney vs Van Persie question, whether Granville is the dopey one.

All these issues and more are addressed in the next 38-minutes, along with the return of All Aboard, the weekend preview and the first decisions to be made with the ailing ScoutCast XI. It’s my turn to play Pat Rice to Granville’s Arsene Wenger this week and, to script, I prove to be more of a hindrance than a help.

      Probably Graham. I can see Defoe's minutes shrink when Adebayor is fit to play. I don't see Bayor starting at the weekend. I guess it depends on how your midfield looks.

    Milanista - What is it about Milan and Inter that means they are so open to player swaps so regularly over the years? Such big rivals but there doesn't seem to be an issue with crossing the divide like other intercity rivals.

          I totally understand your frustration.Tough losing a group of the older players who did so much for the club in one go compounded by the sale of their best players in Silva and Zlatan plus a bum swap deal losing Cassano in the process. Dodgy all round.

      Cultural differences I guess. While the fans don't like it it's not as big a deal in Italy. You can find countless examples in the last 10 years of players that have represented Milan, Inter and Juve. It's only rare/causes an issue when the player is iconic but that tends to happen indirectly (e.g. Ibra from Barca to Milan, Ronaldo from Real to Milan)

      Well personally I think I'll go with Tevez. Not so much non-obvious but more of a gamble and differential than Michu.

      I don't think many will be captaining Cazorla and he looks great. Vermaelen has potential for a goal and cleansheet.

      I've considered Bent and Yaya as well. I think most will captain RVP/Rooney/Michu

        I'm probably gonna go with Cazorla. Stoke aren't great, think Arsenal will beat them, and he will be involved I'd say. Plus I'm not certain about the standard picks available to me i.e. Bale and Michu. Michu ain't seen enough of. Bale didn't do much llast week. Plus both are up against teams that exceeded expectations last week

      If you've got the lead in your mini leagues, it would be great to take point hits without suffering too much. I wish I could have prevented my point hit (I'm far from first as well), but Aguero injury killed my plans :'(

      That's the way if always done it in the past, but I'm going to more more strict with myself this year about transfers. Those 4 point hits add up to quite a bit in the end.

      Some, maybe. But I think that people can get carried away with this - with little to show in the end. The beginning of the season is so volatile, and 'casuals' make such seemingly nonsensical choices, that you can make the error of putting the cart before the horse, as it were.

      Jumping on every value increase means you're following the crowd at all times. Pick good players, keep them for as long as you see fit, and the value will take care of itself, imo.

          Players are for example, of course. And you can be successful doing as you say ... if you're incredibly prescient about it and lucky, to boot. More than 1 way to skin a cat ...

          But 8 points for GW2 seems nutty to me. Just saying. Play the game and have fun - why do anything else?

            Yup, that's the tricky bit Eric. Some of the wagons are total nonsense and are never likely to gather much steam (Dzeko last year) but if you miss the good ones (Ba last year) it can ruin your team trying to force them in when they gone up a mill.

    Liv Vs man city.
    I have three city players :
    Zabaleta (it's between him and fonte to play)
    Yaya (it's between him and Taarbat - one plays one on the bench - Taarbat was super attacking with 6 shots on goal in a defeat and now he goes to leaky Norwich - hard choice)
    And tevez - which I will surely play.

    I can see pool making a special effort and might be a difficult one to city - but which of their players to play and which to bench?

      I have all of those City players and I'm playing all 3. Liverpool will come good, but they are still a work in progress atm.
