It’s amazing what a couple of Gameweek 1 goals can do for your Fantasy price. Michu’s arrival to the Premier League was relatively low-key this summer, yet the new Swansea man had racked up 15 goals in La Liga last time round – more than any other midfielder in Spain’s top-flight. Now that he’s hit the ground running with a brace at QPR, the bandwagon has been in overdrive; as a result, Michu has already climbed 0.3 in Fantasy Premier League (FPL) and, rather conveniently, stolen the headlines away from this week’s differential pick…

Danny Graham’s Fantasy owners have every right to feel aggrieved after last weekend’s blank. With a change in tactics by Michael Laudrup also helping Nathan Dyer and Wayne Routledge to two goals and two assists respectively, surely an assist wasn’t too much to ask? It wasn’t to be, however, and as the midfielders racked up the points and resultant Fantasy interest, the former Watford man has been overlooked heading into a run of games that sees Swansea play at home five times in the next seven Gameweeks.

There’s plenty of reason to be positive, though. Graham arrived at Loftus Road ahead of the season opener as the top-scoring Premier League player across the pre-season friendlies, grabbing six goals in his final three matches and, prior to the season’s kick-off, a thoroughly-impressed Laudrup revealed he expected his lone forward to comfortably pass the 12 goals accrued in the previous campaign:

“Every day the connection between Danny and Michu looks better and better and we can expect a lot from them. I don’t know what Danny’s record is, but if he stays fit I would say he can score between 15 and 20 goals in the Premier League.”

As the Swans continue their summer friendly form to find the net with a remarkable ease, Graham’s chances of producing in a flourishing attacking unit clearly haven’t diminished after a single Gameweek. Earlier today, Laudrup revealed he has spoken to his wide men, suggesting Graham was left too isolated up front at Loftus Road – a detail he’s sure his side will rectify, starting at home to West Ham tomorrow.

With (SUN, EVE, EDG, WIG) all following the Hammers to the Liberty between Gameweeks 3-8, Graham – priced at 6.0 in FPL and 8.4 in the Sky Sports game, sits with just 7% ownership heading into Saturday’s match. While over 170,000 Fantasy managers have called on the services of Michu, Graham has been transferred in by just 7,000 despite an exceptional run of fixtures. If Swansea pick up where they left off at Loftus Road tomorrow, Graham could well be off the mark and on his way to justifying his manager’s high praise.

Aight, I'm done switching around my team for the evening. So this is the team that I will send into battle:

    Federici
    Cashley Zabaleta Cuellar
    Michu Taarabt Cazorla Bale (V)
    Torres Graham RVP (C)
    Subs: Juicy Clyne Demel Guthrie

    How's it looking?

I don't love the look of Federici in goal, but for this week at least he is better than Jussi. Carzorla won't be in my team until I see him involved in some goals, but he could do well for you. Otherwise the team looks good, and I assume you aren't keeping Torres after this gameweek? Also, did you ever think about captaining Graham? RVP is the better choice in my opinion, but I am at odds between choosing Bale or Graham to captain my team this week.

that is tough. Very tough! The fixtures compete with the quality of player right down the line

I'd rule out lamps since he did nothing if it wasn't for penalties.

So i guess then you need to choose between fixtures (michu or Torres) or overall quality (tevez)

need some votes here. To hit or not? First to 5 votes.
Leadin my mini league by 6 pts with this team:

    Ddg (fed)
    Zabaleta cole cuellar (hangeland) (demel)
    Michu bale pienaar taarabt (noble)
    Torrea tevez graham

Original plan is captain bale. Having made the michu transfer before first price rise i now see that my opponents have kagawa. Should i bring him in now and captain him or should i bring in rvp/roon and give him the armband? Or should i even bother and leave my team as it is.

With the Aguero injury I'm limping into GW2 and missed most of the price changes. I can't believe all of the knee jerks after just one week! Looks like I'll be behind the 8 ball on team value all season:

    A. Sit tight, save two transfers for next week, but means I have 11.3 on the bench and starting 5 DB's including Demel and Hangeland (Tough matchups)
    B. Give myself a chance to score by swapping Aquero for Graham and building rthe bank to 5.3 for next week's transfer(s) - I have three Chelsea players. Would start Graham and Demel.
    C. Dive off the cliff and take a four point hit, swapping Ramires for Miyaichi to enable Aguero for RVP. Would captain either Tevel or RVP, and start RVP, Miyaichi, and Demel.

Sorry, link not updated. Insturctions please. (Team number 44855) Thanks

Thanks, I got the link updated, easy enough. Wish my team decision was so simple. Have narrowed it down to A or B, hold tight and sit back and watch another week, or take Graham and still keep some flexibility for next week (RVP/Rooney/Ade).

Both looked impressive last week, so just rolling the dice. However, I think manu is more likely to score big so odds are better Kagawa should be involved somehow in at least one of the goals.

I think it's going to be frustrating game for Spurs. The sooner they get Ade up and running, the better.

Looks solid to me -- I like the line-up quite a bit. Not sure between Clyne and Petric. I fancy Man Utd to win pretty heavily, but Petric could bag a goal vs. a spotty defense. Clyne the safer option, Petric a punt?

I think he's better than Frei . Rodallega won't play on the wing too much and he's inconsistent. Will be competition alright and won' be nailed on for a while but I think Kaca can nail his spot this season.

Thoughts on a captain for this week? Poll seems to suggest Michu, and though he was a standout performer last week, I'm just not getting the vibethat he's going to repeat his heroics this week.

    A. Tevez
    B. Torres
    C. Kagawa
    D. Someone else (below)

    What do you think?

    My line-up is:

    de Gea (Federici)
    Ivanovic, Cuellar, Zabaleta (Clyne)
Pienaar, Michu, Kagawa, Taarabt, Yaya Toure
    Tevez, Torres (Petric)

Appreciate any thoughts! Rarely do the good folk of FFS ever steer me wrong. 🙂

    Thanks!

Thanks. Currently I am Tevez (C), Kagawa (vc). Also seriously considering a 4pt hit to switch Torres to RVP. Gut feeling. Crazy?
