Has a stitched Wayne Rooney made things simple? Have we already got the template attacking lineup? Certainly Robin Van Persie’s goal, coupled with the injury to Rooney that looks to have sidelined him for a month, suggests that the source of attacking points at United is settled. Unless, of course, you’re committing to the slick trickery of Shinji Kagawa over Van Persie’s pure goal power.

City’s Carlos Tevez surely has another spot up front reserved for him and, while Fernando Torres is doing his upmost to cling to our affections, Eden Hazard’s irresistible form surely means that we have a preferred route to Chelsea’s flowing attacking points.

After just two weeks, a combination of Van Persie, Tevez and Hazard appears to give the very best coverage of potentially the three most potent teams in the league.

You can argue around this – Kagawa, Samir Nasri and Torres all offer the alternatives but, right now, while these words are typed, I’m struggling to see past this new holy trinity as the most powerful combination.

Throw in Michu, Steven Pienaar or Mauroanne Fellaini – perhaps dabble with Danny Graham up front while Swansea’s fixtures remain favourable, or even Emmanuel Adebayor to cover Tottenham’s attacking threat, and the template after Gameweek 2 begins to look solid.

As we discussed in the ScoutCast this week, there will be new names emerging that will threaten to break the ideas we have now but, in all honesty, it’s difficult to see Van Persie, Tevez and Hazard being anything other than season keepers; barring injury.

It can’t really be that simple and yet the twist of fate that saw Rooney first benched and then stretchered down the tunnel, almost rubber-stamped matters. There will surely be thousands scrambling for Van Perise, even more suitors for Hazard after another bout or returns from this evening’s victory. Meanwhile, Tevez has Liverpool in his sights tomorrow with a clear run of appearances while Sergio Aguero recuperates.

If you currently sit on all three, congratulations; please fight back the smugness. If you’ve none of the above, cling to the hope that there’s naivety in these words and that these power houses will falter. Either that, or scrub up for some serious squad surgery.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Torres scoring has made things more awkward for my initial plan of Torres > RVP this week. Torres' price looks pretty stable at the moment so I'm wondering now if it would be better to do Lampard > Kagawa as his price looks set to decrease.

Thanks to Torres I now only need to rid of Lampard and Terry. Really want Hazard in GW4 and have no money in the bank. Would Terry > Rafael GW3 and Lampard > Hazard GW4 be the best?

Hi all, opinions please. Doing ok, 123 points so far. Thing is due to making very early transfers and a bit of f'ckwittery (Tevez out in error and back in) I've made 5 changes already for this week. Team I'm left with looks good but should I take the 16 point hit or play the wild card....thinking early doors and 2 nd in my league I should suck up the 16....

    Jas, Fed

    Gallas, Williams, Ivano, Zaba, O'brien

    Nasri, Fellaini, Michu, Hazard, Gera

Think Kag, Valencia and RVP are going to rip it up once the rest of the team firms up a bit behind them. As long as Kag plays where he is now and doesn't have Rooney in his lap, he's going to score points.

So RVP in for Rooney aready. 5 injuries in 2 weeks. This is why I didn't have a "10 week plan" like some on here.

Won't be bringing in Hazard ahead of a blank, he can wait. But I do agree that Tevez, RVP and Haz are probably going to be the most consistent 3 for those teams (until Aguero's back...).

Looks like Taarabt is ready to fall, and I'm ready to ship him out - can't rely on QPR for anything right now. Who's the best midfielder to replace him with?

I have 3.0 in the bank.

    de Gea, Federici
    Ivanovic, Zabaleta, Cuellar, Hangeland, Clyne
Yaya Toure, Kagawa, Michu, Pienaar, Taarabt
    Tevez, Torres, Petric

If not for the blank GW3, I would take a 4 point hit and do Taarabt > Hazard, de Gea > Foster. Tempted, still...

    Help!

I've got Lamps and Rooney and they both have to go. Do I get:

    a) Kags & Ade (already have Bale) - I like Kags and think he will do well. Not so confident about Spurs but Ade seems the best option other than RVP, who I wouldn't be able to afford.

    b) Michu (already have Graham) & RVP. This seems obvious but it also shifts the balance of my team as I won't be able to get a second big hitter in (e.g. Kags, Hazard after the blank, Dempsey if he kisses and makes up, Nasri/Silva)

I think I prefer A but I'm just not sure. B could wait til tomorrow probably but Ade and Kags look like going up this evening

    Any thoughts?

a - Kaboul and Torres to Williams/Rangel and RvP for a 4 point hit
b - Torres to Adebayor for free
c - Graham, Torres and Bale to RvP, Adebayor and Dyer for an 8 point hit.

Any reason not to do VdV to Kagawa tonight (or is there a better option for 9.5?)

Also, RvP on 70% to rise, do we think he'll go up tonight?

Now is my last chance to swap Bale -> Hazard. I know he deosnt have a game next week, but the only difference would be i that i would play Noble(H) against Fulham instead of where bale would have played. should i do it or find other means of doing so?
