Has a stitched Wayne Rooney made things simple? Have we already got the template attacking lineup? Certainly Robin Van Persie’s goal, coupled with the injury to Rooney that looks to have sidelined him for a month, suggests that the source of attacking points at United is settled. Unless, of course, you’re committing to the slick trickery of Shinji Kagawa over Van Persie’s pure goal power.

City’s Carlos Tevez surely has another spot up front reserved for him and, while Fernando Torres is doing his upmost to cling to our affections, Eden Hazard’s irresistible form surely means that we have a preferred route to Chelsea’s flowing attacking points.

After just two weeks, a combination of Van Persie, Tevez and Hazard appears to give the very best coverage of potentially the three most potent teams in the league.

You can argue around this – Kagawa, Samir Nasri and Torres all offer the alternatives but, right now, while these words are typed, I’m struggling to see past this new holy trinity as the most powerful combination.

Throw in Michu, Steven Pienaar or Mauroanne Fellaini – perhaps dabble with Danny Graham up front while Swansea’s fixtures remain favourable, or even Emmanuel Adebayor to cover Tottenham’s attacking threat, and the template after Gameweek 2 begins to look solid.

As we discussed in the ScoutCast this week, there will be new names emerging that will threaten to break the ideas we have now but, in all honesty, it’s difficult to see Van Persie, Tevez and Hazard being anything other than season keepers; barring injury.

It can’t really be that simple and yet the twist of fate that saw Rooney first benched and then stretchered down the tunnel, almost rubber-stamped matters. There will surely be thousands scrambling for Van Perise, even more suitors for Hazard after another bout or returns from this evening’s victory. Meanwhile, Tevez has Liverpool in his sights tomorrow with a clear run of appearances while Sergio Aguero recuperates.

If you currently sit on all three, congratulations; please fight back the smugness. If you’ve none of the above, cling to the hope that there’s naivety in these words and that these power houses will falter. Either that, or scrub up for some serious squad surgery.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Did a bit of maths there.

    - Mata (9.4) + 0.5m in the bank = 9.9m
    - Hazard 9.7m + inevitable ridiculous triple price rise = 10m

If I bring in some random for 1 week, unless they rise in price to compensate for Hazard's price rises then I am screwed. This may lead me down the Fellaini or Dyer route.

Ok so I've already done Taarabt to HBA, but wondering about taking a hit. By getting out Cashley

Without a hit my team GW3 would look like this:

    Jussi
    Demel Cuellar Zabaleta Clyne
    HBA Bale Cazorla Michu
    Graham RVP

    Thoughts?

Unless the price goes both ways and you find yourself .2m short.

Rooney's cut looked pretty damn deep, like a chunk of flesh taken out. Then he'll need some time to be match fit. By that time, RVP will probably have won the Golden Boot.

Have 2 FTs and a front 8 of:

    Lampard, Bale, Cazorla, Pienaar, Noble
    Tevez, Suarez, Graham

I'm tempted by Lampard and Bale to Michu and Hazard, good idea?

Is Michu and Graham too much Swansea? Watching MOTD has made me think maybe I don't need both, they won't be playing QPR and West Ham every week.

If I ship Bale out there is an easy route to Spurs coverage of Suarez to Adebayor in future

Should I also sub out Torres for Petric (WHICH COSTS ME 4PTS) to free up 4.0 mil (5.0 total) to bring in Hazard for Pienaar the next week (-3.5 if Hazard goes to 10.0) and then improve the rest of my team with the other 1.5 later on?

Gotta say that RVP, Hazard and Tevez are the most powerful trio at the moment, money aside. However, I doubt RVP will be worth 4.5 million more than Kagawa. In other words, if Kagawa gets 65% of the points RVP does, then they both are living up to their price tags. Time will tell I guess, but I've got Tevez, Hazard and Kagawa and happy to the have the extra 4.5 million for the rest of my squad. It's the difference between Pog and Adebayor, for instance.

Taarabt needs to reach -200% on FISO which is 6788 transfers out. He's on 5877 transfers out and so needs 911 transfers more in two hours. He's only got 155 transfers out in one hour today, and the rate should fall as we get into the night too, so he should be well short.

Naturally there's some error in the fall threshold FISO use but he should have plenty of buffer.

Nope - even at the current rate of transfers he'd only get to 30k which is a comfortable 2k short of the threshold. But I expect the rate of transfers to fall towards 3am.

cheers for posting this, hopefully it will cut down the number of people asking 'whos going to rise?' and asking for the totalfpl/fioso web address. Don't these people have google?

Ooh very borderline, Miyaichi. I'd check back 2am or 3am to get a clearer picture. -200% on FISO is a fall, he's on -191% and at current rate will get to -198%.

          Damnit 🙁

Thought he would be a clever punt, still might hold for when he does start playing. Thanks!

BTW just checked N'Zogbia - he's borderline to FALL. Treat N'Zogbia as a probable fall.

Which sucks because I have him

    Who's better for GW3:

Pienaar v. McClean (Currently have McClean... Still bitter they didn't play today)
    Cuellar v. Saylor

Sunderland play at Swansea, so I'm guessing the Swans will still be in good form, but Sunderland also looked good against Arsenal.

I have half a mil to upgrade to Saylor since Toon host Villa, and quite frankly they've been horrible.
I can only pick one of these since I won't be taking a hit.

    Thoughts?

I felt pretty smart about WC'ing into Williams, Michu, and Graham. Conventional wisdom will get you average at best returns and nothing more. Reject groupthink.

    Fed / Jaask

    Ivan / Zab / Vert – Demel/Clyne

    Bale / Lampard / Michu / Pienaar – Kaca

    Graham / Torres / Tevez

I’ve got 3m in the bank and 2 FT’s left.

Not sure what to do now.

Lampard > Kagawa I’ll probably do, give Bale another week and if he still isn’t delivering I’ll get Hazard in.

Not sure whether to keep Torres or not now.

    Any ideas?

    Cheers.

VDV -> Ben Arfa & Torres -> RVP.. 4 point hit. Thoughts? VDV has the potential to explode especially vs. Norwich at home so not sure on that. Could just to Torres -> RVP for free but would have to stay looking at VDV & Miyaichi in my team..

Good moves IMO but you may want to hold Torres considering his form and price rises.

VDV -> Ben Arfa, no hit? I think i'm gonna need some Utd attacking coverage. Truth been told, I'm quite scared not having RVP! 🙂

Got 3m in bank. Thinking about Torres out for Ade now...and then Bale out for Hazard next GW.
In a perfect world I would swap Torres for RVP and still afford Hazard next week but Bale is my highest priced midfielder at 9.5m and Hazard will be closer to 10m by then.

Sound good to me, doubling down on Spurs next week at home vs Norwich feels right at least 🙂
