Has a stitched Wayne Rooney made things simple? Have we already got the template attacking lineup? Certainly Robin Van Persie’s goal, coupled with the injury to Rooney that looks to have sidelined him for a month, suggests that the source of attacking points at United is settled. Unless, of course, you’re committing to the slick trickery of Shinji Kagawa over Van Persie’s pure goal power.

City’s Carlos Tevez surely has another spot up front reserved for him and, while Fernando Torres is doing his upmost to cling to our affections, Eden Hazard’s irresistible form surely means that we have a preferred route to Chelsea’s flowing attacking points.

After just two weeks, a combination of Van Persie, Tevez and Hazard appears to give the very best coverage of potentially the three most potent teams in the league.

You can argue around this – Kagawa, Samir Nasri and Torres all offer the alternatives but, right now, while these words are typed, I’m struggling to see past this new holy trinity as the most powerful combination.

Throw in Michu, Steven Pienaar or Mauroanne Fellaini – perhaps dabble with Danny Graham up front while Swansea’s fixtures remain favourable, or even Emmanuel Adebayor to cover Tottenham’s attacking threat, and the template after Gameweek 2 begins to look solid.

As we discussed in the ScoutCast this week, there will be new names emerging that will threaten to break the ideas we have now but, in all honesty, it’s difficult to see Van Persie, Tevez and Hazard being anything other than season keepers; barring injury.

It can’t really be that simple and yet the twist of fate that saw Rooney first benched and then stretchered down the tunnel, almost rubber-stamped matters. There will surely be thousands scrambling for Van Perise, even more suitors for Hazard after another bout or returns from this evening’s victory. Meanwhile, Tevez has Liverpool in his sights tomorrow with a clear run of appearances while Sergio Aguero recuperates.

If you currently sit on all three, congratulations; please fight back the smugness. If you’ve none of the above, cling to the hope that there’s naivety in these words and that these power houses will falter. Either that, or scrub up for some serious squad surgery.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

They are - based on these two games, one of which he played in the hole and the other in which he merked Aston Villa. Not sure it will necessarily hold in say a month's time.

rvp 89 on ttfpl and 96 on fiso.

we shall see which one is correct with michu set to rise but not in totalfpl.

TFPL have Michu at 0% but that was due to him already meeting the max 0.3 last week. Looking at NTI he will certainly rise.

TotalFPL is more accurate - the lower % is truer. They show Michu as 0% because there is a limit in rising 0.3 in a GW. Now it's the new GW he will rise - they just forgot to remove that.

I have three chelsea players in for gameweek 3 which they dont play lol - So im thinking of dropping lampard and injured rooney for RVP and possibly arteta to enable some arsenal cover? Or im tempted to wait for sahin to come to liverpool? Also tempted on kagwa

      Arteta is balls FPL-wise.

Rooney > RVP (only if you already have Tevez) and then Lamps > Fellaini/Kagawa/Nasri IMO.

That's news to me to be honest. Would make sense to me, he is a close-ish to a Song replacement for me. A passing midfielder with quite a snappy tackle. Certainly for picking up yellow cards, he could totally own Song.

Cultured is the word. It's now or never, he's 26 now and we've signed too many older players. He is class - he would be superb alongside Arteta and behind Cazorla.

Oh dear. You could just have taken a couple of hits and sorted your team out. Can't you unhit the WC button? Mail FPL Towers and tell them it was a mistake. Or your dog jumped on the keyboard or something.

Team looks OK but you don't need Foster and Howard. Maybe Ming and a rotator would be good or a Sunderland defender at least.

    Fed / Jaask

    Ivan / Zab / Vert – Demel/Clyne

    Bale / Lampard / Michu / Pienaar – Kaca

    Graham / Torres / Tevez

    I’ve got 3m in the bank and 2 FT's.

    Does the following make sense?

    1) Lamps > Kagawa
    2) Torres > RVP
    3) GW3 FT Bale > Hazard
    4) GW4 FT Ivan > 5/5.5 def if the def looks to be slipping

I like S. Taylor for his goal threat and BP whore-ness. Don't like how Santon is getting subbed off often, and he is prone to getting randomly dropped. Coloccini is the only other nailed on but don't think he offers much attacking potential.

      29 minutes, no joke!

Luckily I don't think you'll have to make that transfer now. I don't see RVP rising tonight (FISO %s are slightly too high).

Yeah. Hence I'm trying to decide whether I should have him alone or add Kags to the mix. I really think he could play Sneijder a RVP + ??? + ??? front three.

Yep. A 4-2-1-3 - he's the man in the hole spraying assists to the front three. Like Sneijder did at Inter and for the Netherlands.

            Young/Nani...RVP......Valencia

F*ck it, just hit the WC button after seeing Everton's fixtures and there being no other easy way for me to get Baines/Jelavic in without hits. Hazard's rising too, so i'll sub him for the blank fixture. Didn't want to do it this early but the prices are forcing my hand. There's no standout run where the big teams have great fixtures so this is hopefully as good a time as any.... phew!

Really don't like how my team looks now which is annoying as prior to GW start I was very happy!

    DDG / Federici
    Ivanovic / Cole / Zabaleta / Demel / R. Bennett
    Bale / Kagawa / Cazorla / Taarabt / Puncheon
    Torres / Tevez / Graham

    No cash in the bank.

With the Chelsea 3 having no game plus Puncheon, Taraabt and Bennett being rotation risks, my team looks a shambles for GW3 so contemplating an 8 pointer (even a 12 pointer is crossing my mind)

Am I best shipping out the Chelsea 3 (Probably for Rangel, Saylor/Santon + RVP) or should focus on getting rid of the deadweight like Taarabt and sticking a Chelsea player on the bench for this week?

Or option 3 and just WC (which ideally I would have done before rises tonight so that's kinda meh now)

And that's kinda a wall of text. So in less summary

Cole, Ivan, Torres, Bennett, Puncheon, Taraabt.

Need to shift 2-3 of them to get a workable team this week, which 3 should I do?

          Baines is truly wonderful.

I was one of the main people saying Everton would put an end to their slow start curse, yet i didn't start with any of their players. 😕

Agree on Hazard btw. Want to get him while he's still quite cheap, he'll be in the top 2 highest scoring mids this season. Looks electric.

Ahh this is so exciting. Tinker tinker tinker....!

I saw the injury and it looked nasty but it's a flesh wound and you know, with Ferguson I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if he's overstating Rooney's injury just to get him out of international duty and have him ripe and ready by GW4, though he wouldn't need him at home vs Wigan. Maybe a short run out to have him match sharp at Anfield the following week.

    Never trust SAF.

Decided to go against all advice and did this for a 4.0 hit:

    Ivanovic > Rangel
    Taarabt > Hazard

It means Hazard and Torres are benched next week. Hope it pays off. I just didn't feel like missing on Hazard at his current price made sense, especially since Taarabt will also fall.
