Has a stitched Wayne Rooney made things simple? Have we already got the template attacking lineup? Certainly Robin Van Persie’s goal, coupled with the injury to Rooney that looks to have sidelined him for a month, suggests that the source of attacking points at United is settled. Unless, of course, you’re committing to the slick trickery of Shinji Kagawa over Van Persie’s pure goal power.

City’s Carlos Tevez surely has another spot up front reserved for him and, while Fernando Torres is doing his upmost to cling to our affections, Eden Hazard’s irresistible form surely means that we have a preferred route to Chelsea’s flowing attacking points.

After just two weeks, a combination of Van Persie, Tevez and Hazard appears to give the very best coverage of potentially the three most potent teams in the league.

You can argue around this – Kagawa, Samir Nasri and Torres all offer the alternatives but, right now, while these words are typed, I’m struggling to see past this new holy trinity as the most powerful combination.

Throw in Michu, Steven Pienaar or Mauroanne Fellaini – perhaps dabble with Danny Graham up front while Swansea’s fixtures remain favourable, or even Emmanuel Adebayor to cover Tottenham’s attacking threat, and the template after Gameweek 2 begins to look solid.

As we discussed in the ScoutCast this week, there will be new names emerging that will threaten to break the ideas we have now but, in all honesty, it’s difficult to see Van Persie, Tevez and Hazard being anything other than season keepers; barring injury.

It can’t really be that simple and yet the twist of fate that saw Rooney first benched and then stretchered down the tunnel, almost rubber-stamped matters. There will surely be thousands scrambling for Van Perise, even more suitors for Hazard after another bout or returns from this evening’s victory. Meanwhile, Tevez has Liverpool in his sights tomorrow with a clear run of appearances while Sergio Aguero recuperates.

If you currently sit on all three, congratulations; please fight back the smugness. If you’ve none of the above, cling to the hope that there’s naivety in these words and that these power houses will falter. Either that, or scrub up for some serious squad surgery.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Decisions Decisions.

Had a good start and top of my mini league, but I currently don't have RVP or Hazard,
and the person I class as my main competitor does.

Currently tempted to stick with Torres. Would be a 4 point hit to get in RVP anyway.

And although Hazard seems a must after next week,
it means dropping one of Torres, Cole or Ivanovic,
and to be honest doubling up on chelsea defence is working pretty well so far.

Hmmmm.... What to do, what to do.

That's the kicker -- right now, I have two Chelsea players going into the next GW: Ivanovic and Torres. My gut tells me Hazard's price is going to climb over the next week, despite not having a game, and I'm pretty sure I can stand to have two Chelsea players on the bench next week, but not three.

So if I did Ivanovic > Rangel, I could also take a 4pt hit and do Taarabt > Hazard.

          Tough.

Personally, i feel pushing for a 3rd Swansea clean sheet in a row may be pushing it, however, I am also considering downgrading Ivanovic to add depth for next GW.
My thought was wait until he reaches 6.7, take the 0.1 sell on, downgrade to a cheaper defender, i think Cole will always be at 6.5 if you want a Chelsea defender.
To conclude, it's a risk..i guess you could always get an expensive defender back, unless you need the money elsewhere

    DDG, Federici

    Baines, Zabaleta, Hangeland, Demel, Clyne

    Hazard, Bale, Carzorla, Ireland, Noble

    Torres, Tevez, Graham

    Zero banked. What looks best:

    A) Torres - Adebayor
    B) Ireland - Miyaichi/Routledge/the 4.5 Fulham winger
    C) Torres and Ireland - Jelavic/Cisse and Michu (-4)
    D) Bale and Torres - Pienaar and RVP (-4)

I'm usually quite patient. I calmed down after another poor GW and assessed my team.

I looked at form and really only Taarabt and Rooney needed to go. Then I looked at fixtures and there are some nice home games GW3 - Swansea, Spurs, Newcastle, City which I have covered nicely, so felt a -8pt hit would set me up nicely for the future weeks.

I originally planned to WC GW7 (Intl. Break), and still do. Fixture wise, my team isn't bad, just not performing right now, so resisted the WC.

Was RVP the real-deal today then? Only one shot on target in 90+ mins worries me but then again he only needs one chance!

I was one of the unlucky ones who did Torres > Rooney (c). Could it have worked out any worse?

Just need to decide if I'm taking a hit to do Rooney & Lamps > RVP & £8m or less mid or just Rooney > someone else.

No replies before, so sorry, asking again... want to find 0.5 to upgrade Torres to RvP. Any thoughts? Should I…
    a. Downgrade Kaboul to a 5.0 or less defender… e.g. Williams (wish I’d done this for this gameweek!)
    b. Downgrade Fabio to a 4.0 defender… not sure who really, have McCartney and defender needs to play this week.
    c. Downgrade Noble to a 4.5 midfielder… Kacanikilic?
    d. Downgrade Graham to a 5.5 or less striker… Di Santo/Pogrebnyak
    e. Bale down to a 9.0 midfielder,,, but who?

I’m thinking a. as uncertain of Kaboul’s injury.

Or forget RvP and get Adebayor for free?

Go for RVP. 4 points little in the grand scheme of things, especially when set against the points potential of RVP.

I would get rid of Torres, I really think it is a massive call that needs to be taken now.

The next couple of GW's could see him go mental.

I think you are exaggerating the gravity of the RVP situation.

Going without you will miss out from time to time. I just wonder whether that extra 3m over Torres couldn't be better invested in midfield...
