[sbu_large_image] The Stock Check

City suffer more anxiety attacks but, again, overcome QPR to earn the three points with some familiar names again amongst the returns. Here’s the stock check from the day’s final encounter…

On the Up

Carlos Tevez
The overwhelming captaincy favourite this weekend, he didn’t let us down. Tevez played a part in all his side’s three goals – providing assists for the first two before grabbing the third, he currently sits on 24 FPL points pre-bonus, with the maximum looking likely. Those who opted for the Van Persie option will now have a uncomfortable 90 minutes ahead of them.

Yaya Toure
Once again, the Ivorian delivered for his Fantasy owners. Toure’s opener against QPR means he has produced attacking returns in all three of City’s games so far; cheaper than the likes of Samir Nasri and David Silva across the Fantasy games, he is proving to be the main contender from Mancini’s midfield and can expect plenty of suitors over the international break.

Edin Dzeko
The Bosnian striker has his doubters but, once again, he cropped up with a vital goal. While Tevez is overwhelming the strongest attacking option in the City lineup, Dzeko now appears to be in the box seat for starts alongside him; particularly now that Mario Balotelli is facing a month out due to an eye operation.

Going Down

The City Defence
Three games, no clean sheets. It’s a bit of a worry for owners of Vincent Kompany and Joe Hart – both are priced highly across the Fantasy games due to their near guaranteed selection but with City continuing to leak goals at the back, the pair could well be shed from squads as we reassess our line-ups. Rotation is a constant worry – just ask Gael Clichy owners – while Pablo Zabaleta was withdrawn with a “slight” hamstring twinge.

Djibril Cisse
Dropped to the bench to make way for a change in shape, Cisse, along with Adel Taarabt, Junior Hoilett and Bobby Zamora, looks far from secure as Hughes shuffles his attacking options match to match.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Theory or rule? In practicality, it never seems to go more than that, but I thought it was something like "x" for first rise, 2x for second rise, 4x for third rise, but that an 8x accumulation could trigger a fourth rise between GW. Given two weeks, it is conceivable, if that was the rule.

Rule. You can see high scoring players rising .1 in the first three days (.1 each day) after their game and then remain unchanged till the transfer DL has passed.

Yaya has 4 players more advanced than him. He wont always have balls drop to him on the box. I think 8m is about the right price for him.

no option but to wild card or is there a 4PH alternative to save this team?!

    1.4 in the bank

    krul/vorm

    BAE/ Figuaroa/ Lescot/ N.Taylor (injured), Williamson (never plays)

Duff, Mata, Pienaar, Dyer, Y. Toure

    Torres, Vaz Te, Cisse

Taylor, Williamson, Mata, Vaz Te are the biggest issues imo.
Maybe save WC and do Taylor->Demel, Mata->Kagawa/Hazard, and Cisse->Tevez for a 8PT hit.

Well I guess GK is fine, Defence needs work, Midfield is OK bar Mata and attack could use an overhaul. Although You could field a nice team for next week:

      Vorm
BAE Lescott (replacement for N. Taylor or Williamson, e.g. Demel)
      Mata Pienaar Dyer Toure
Torres Cisse (assuming its Papiss) (replacement for Vaz Te, e.g. Fletcher or Berbatov if you wana gamble a little)

And then you work your way through the week after as well like that and you could save the WC. Its a compromise obviously.

Torres Vaz Te and Cisse are fine for now.
Duff Mata Piennar Dyer and yaya also fine for this week.

      BAE is ok Lescott ok

Goalies ok for now - Maybbe too much money spent.

My first priority would be to rid Taylor or Williamson. The rest of team can hold out as they have the fixtures. Taylor will go down on break, as will williamson, so the ideal scenario is a cheap defender that will go up in price w/ good fixtures. Demel should go up and is dead cheap. Other option is to get elliot ward who is 3.9 and call it a wash - you will be up already .1 - I figure many may wildcard him in at 3.9 and has a chance of playing in the future.

That will leave you with at least 2.5 in the bank for gw 5.

At that point the urge to bring in man u coverage will have subsided as their schedule hardens

Chelsea and Newcastle will have good games and you will be happy you kept Cisse and Torres.
your defense can still hold out that week and you can save two trannies for gw 6 - where you will prob want to bring in liverpool coverage. Can bring in glen johnson for williamson Suarez for Torres or Gerrard for mata.

Either way you have many ways out and your team is playable for coming weeks without taking hits.
