[sbu_large_image] The Stock Check

City suffer more anxiety attacks but, again, overcome QPR to earn the three points with some familiar names again amongst the returns. Here’s the stock check from the day’s final encounter…

On the Up

Carlos Tevez
The overwhelming captaincy favourite this weekend, he didn’t let us down. Tevez played a part in all his side’s three goals – providing assists for the first two before grabbing the third, he currently sits on 24 FPL points pre-bonus, with the maximum looking likely. Those who opted for the Van Persie option will now have a uncomfortable 90 minutes ahead of them.

Yaya Toure
Once again, the Ivorian delivered for his Fantasy owners. Toure’s opener against QPR means he has produced attacking returns in all three of City’s games so far; cheaper than the likes of Samir Nasri and David Silva across the Fantasy games, he is proving to be the main contender from Mancini’s midfield and can expect plenty of suitors over the international break.

Edin Dzeko
The Bosnian striker has his doubters but, once again, he cropped up with a vital goal. While Tevez is overwhelming the strongest attacking option in the City lineup, Dzeko now appears to be in the box seat for starts alongside him; particularly now that Mario Balotelli is facing a month out due to an eye operation.

Going Down

The City Defence
Three games, no clean sheets. It’s a bit of a worry for owners of Vincent Kompany and Joe Hart – both are priced highly across the Fantasy games due to their near guaranteed selection but with City continuing to leak goals at the back, the pair could well be shed from squads as we reassess our line-ups. Rotation is a constant worry – just ask Gael Clichy owners – while Pablo Zabaleta was withdrawn with a “slight” hamstring twinge.

Djibril Cisse
Dropped to the bench to make way for a change in shape, Cisse, along with Adel Taarabt, Junior Hoilett and Bobby Zamora, looks far from secure as Hughes shuffles his attacking options match to match.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Do I wildcard? Wanna decide before the price rises tonight

    Friedel / Federici
    Rafael / Zabaleta / Demel / Clyne / R.Bennett
Michu / Bale / Nasri / Ben Arfa / Kacaniklic
    Graham / Tevez / RVP

The ones I'd like to get rid of:

    Friedel, R.Bennett, Bale, Nasri(maybe), Kacaniklic

It's risky, wouldn't call it madness. Madness might not be having him, if he faces QPR. He has two World Cup qualifying matches so there's the possibility he could be injured there. There's also the possibility he could make it back ok and get injured in the warm up before QPR.

To bail on Bale or not to bail: that is the quesetion.

Planning to go Bale -> Hazard which looks good on paper:
    1. 5pts from 3 games (incl. 2 home)
    2. Hazard is guaranteed a price rise and maybe price fall for Bale

But it good go so very wrong:
    3. Hazard plays 2 internationals before GW4
    4. Bale has (rdg, QPR, AVL,sot, WGN) in their next 7 games

Also note that two of those 3 games for Bale were at home to West Brom and Norwich. Bale also has AVB as manager. He was on the right for a lot of the second half, if not all of the second half today against Norwich. AVB tips it for me. I'll take form over fixtures thank you. Bale will get his points, the thing is how long can you continue to wait...

What do you reckon, would you WC if you had Friedel, Taarabt, Nelson, Noble, Federichi and no way to Hazard without a hit?

What is it with defences nowadays? Most of the big teams letting goals in against much latter opponents. Currently on wildcard and am really tempted to go super cheap well rotating gk's and defenders. And go for big hitters up in the mid and up front. Thinking of something like this:

    Jaask/Bego

    Demel/Cuellar/Hughes/Wilkinson/Clyne

    Hazard/Michu/Pienaar/Kagawa/Maloney

    RvP/Torres/Tevez

    Thoughts?

Someone here had balls to go for triple Stoke & West Ham defense. I would seriously consider following that path.

If your currently on your wc, just go for price rises and sort out your team in 12/13 days time.

Personally, I like, and with Demel getting a cleanie and Zab and BAE not so... sounds good.

Only one GWK mind, but thinking the benefits of money in MIDS and FWDS is better...

    Repost

Lads! Need your advice please. Already asked Parm and Doos and we have agreed that I could do an 8 point hit:

Green -> Foster (this is a priority number 1 in my opinion)

Bale -> Kagawa (should probably wait and see how well he performs tomorrow)

    Kacaniklic -> ???

Do you agree. What would you do?

    Team: http://fantasy.premierleague.com/entry/141/event-history/3/

It seems that my points are decreasing with every GW, therefore I really would appreciate some constructive advice. Cheers in advance.

Going without RVP gives me some slight fear. I can hedge the risk out with Kagawa, but the stats suggest Toure is a better call, and cheaper.

Going without any united coverage seems quite risky, gonna have to see what tomorrow brings!

Hedge with Kagawa. Too risky not to have any of them IMO. I think RVP is too pricey for this campaign, on that United team. Arsenal last year when he shouldered the load, sure.

Plus, if I spend that much money on one player I'd feel obliged to Captain him every week. At that price I'd want double-digit returns (before the doubling effect of the arm band is factored in). My 2 cents.

    Current team:
    DDG / Federici
    Zabalta / Hangeland / Demel / Clyne / McCarthy
    Kagawa / Hazard / Bale / Pienaar / Guthrie
    RVP / Tevez / Graham

I know Bale had good fixtures, but am tempted to swap to HBA, who also has decent fixtures. Will also fee up 2.0 to sort out defence.

    Thoughts?...
