Gameweek four concludes tonight at Goodison Park, as Everton play host to Newcastle United. The Dugout Discussion opens to see two sides with high ambitions for the season tussle it out. The team news is in and is as follows…

Everton XI: Howard, Hibbert, Jagielka, Distin, Baines, Mirallas, Neville, Osman, Pienaar, Fellaini, Jelavic.

Newcastle XI: Harper, Perch, Williamson, S Taylor, Santon, Anita, Cabaye, Gutierrez, Marveaux, Ben Arfa, Cisse.

David Moyes makes two changes from the side that suffered defeat at the hands of West Brom in matchday three, with Tony Hibbert and Kevin Mirallas starting in place of Darron Gibson and Steven Naismith.

As for the visitors, Steve Harper replaces the injured Tim Krul, and James Perch and Mike Williamson patch up the defence in the absence of Danny Simpson and Fabricio Coloccini. Slyvain Marveaux is a surprise inclusion, as Demba Ba drops to the bench.

    Help! I've contracted a critical case of DDG/Fed syndrome.

    Could someone please helpfully post the link to the keeper rotation spreadsheet? My searching bore no fruit.

    Also welcome any wise words on a suitable step A: i.e. who to bring in for DDG this week. I'm tempted by a cheapie like Jussi who has some reasonable fixtures.

        Interesting - good suggestion. Looks like there's some consensus on step A. I'll keep an eye on Guzan over coming weeks to judge whether Mig will be worth the +0.5

    I think Guthrie and Sterling is a weak pairing but struggling to find a way to upgrade one? Maybe downgrade bale to lennon but I like the idea of keeping bale for a couple of weeks and straight swap for santi when his fixtures improve.

      Jaas/Beg = good combination, and not much to fault there

      Ivan/Baines/Gibbs/Demel/Barnett = Demel and Barnett just taking up spots, which is fine, but then you should probably look at Gorkss at 3.9 and and another 4.0 unless you got Demel before price rise. I'd consider 2 of Ivan/Baines/Gibbs and 3 rotating 4-4.5 defenders. Also I'd still take Cole over Ivan, I don't think he'll consistently score goals to justify the premium.

      Guthrie/Sterling/Michu/Bale/Hazard = as mentioned by others, the 2 cheapies are hurting you. Would be nice if you could get one of them up to Pienaar or something in that range. Rest are quality players. Other cheap option is El Ahmadi

      RvP/Tevez/Berbs = bit of an obvious one, I am thinking of getting rid of RvP myself (kneejerk maybe, but cost effectiveness is getting to me...) Fletcher may be a good option here. I have RvP/Tevez/Lambert - because I think a third striker costs 6.0...

    I have Baines in my team.. but he looks very exhausted. I don't think EVE is impressive in this match even thou they are leading with just a goal. No offense to any EVE fans, They need to look beyond these 3 players (baines/paine/filan)
