Gameweek four concludes tonight at Goodison Park, as Everton play host to Newcastle United. The Dugout Discussion opens to see two sides with high ambitions for the season tussle it out. The team news is in and is as follows…

Everton XI: Howard, Hibbert, Jagielka, Distin, Baines, Mirallas, Neville, Osman, Pienaar, Fellaini, Jelavic.
Newcastle XI: Harper, Perch, Williamson, S Taylor, Santon, Anita, Cabaye, Gutierrez, Marveaux, Ben Arfa, Cisse.

David Moyes makes two changes from the side that suffered defeat at the hands of West Brom in matchday three, with Tony Hibbert and Kevin Mirallas starting in place of Darron Gibson and Steven Naismith.

As for the visitors, Steve Harper replaces the injured Tim Krul, and James Perch and Mike Williamson patch up the defence in the absence of Danny Simpson and Fabricio Coloccini. Slyvain Marveaux is a surprise inclusion, as Demba Ba drops to the bench.

If Defoe scored 2 yesterday in a 3-1 victory and received no bonus points then surely Ba can't receive more than 1 tonight? He had a shot off target too

bloody 888sport. With 8 mins to go i wanted to put a tenner on there being 3 goals or more. it doersnt give you the option so i had to go odd or even, i went with odd, got all excited when pienaar scored and then Ba pops up 🙁

What a cracking game. Saved my week, too. Even though Captain Baines didn't quite pull off the astonishing score I was dreaming of after fifteen minutes, him & Peanut still scored more points than the rest of my team put together.

Some lovely goals.

And the Everton mascot's tribute to Liverpool... And Harper helping Anichebe avoid a booking... It's enough to restore your faith in Premier League football.

    Yeah, the two legit goals that were ruled out took the gloss off it, even for a neutral (and I'd have an ulcer after that if I was an Everton fan). So I'm not saying it was a fair result, or a perfectly referree'd game. But by golly it was exciting.
