A game of goals and controversy at Goodison Park brings Gameweek 4 to a conclusion. Here’s the Stock Check from the tonight’s tumultuous 2-2 stalemate…

On the Up

Leighton Baines
We could hardly have pushed the virtues of Baines any harder over the international break and the Everton left-back didn’t take long to demonstrate why. Linking superbly with Steven Pienaar, Baines covered himself in glory with a fine strike to cap another superb display.

Steven Pienaar
Two assists from the South African demonstrated his worth and effectiveness down the Everton left with Baines. Pienaar also threaded the pass for Victor Anichebe’s strike and was only denied further returns by the assistant’s flag. Significantly, despite strong returns from Marouanne Fellaini in the opening games, bonus for Pienaar would take him above the Belgian in the Fantasy Premier League rankings.

Demba Ba
The evening began with the Senegal striker on the timber, only for him to be introduced to turn the game in the second half. A rollercoaster evening for his 16% ownership that ended in confirmation that Ba is the man in form in the Newcastle frontline.

Going Down

Nikaca Jelavic
The Croatian crashed into a post early on and finally relented to the blow just before the break after suffering further knocks. Everton badly missed his influence in the second-half and David Moyes and Jelavic’s Fantasy owners will desperately hoping that he has escaped with a minor setback. We await the prognosis.

Papiss Cisse
Selected ahead of Ba to lead the line, Cisse was again overshadowed by his compatriot. His Fantasy owners will doubtless be twitching with frustration and mystified as to how Cisse’s strike rate has diminished so markedly given last season’s electric form.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

I think it's because a lot of popular defenders got clean sheets, even thoough people think of it as low-scoring because many high scoring attackers drew blanks.

Chelsea clean sheet is a big factor. They must have the greatest %age DEF ownership with Cech, Terry, Cole and Ivan all sensible picks. Add Bale and Ba joy to that mix, too.

Ok, how's my UCL team looking:

    Kelava, Felgueiras
    Silva, Taiwo, Acerbi, Evans, Vidal
    Nocerino, Lampard, Cazorla, Shirokov, Yarmolenko
    Messi, Zlatan, Mandzukic

    .5 for any improvements

      why Nocerino over KPB?

As i asked on the previous page, why do you think KPB and Ibra is better than Pastore and Pazzini?

      Don't like Evans tbh.

Boateng is probably a better option but I don't take UCL too seriously and Nocerino is my man.

        Because of Zlatan.

I think he'll play. Utd have an easy group and I can't see Vidic and Ferdinand both playing every weekend and midweek.

          I'm a former rugby back-rower and I wouldn't f*** with him. He's built like a brick outhouse.

    The goal that wasn't....

If you get chance to see it again looking towards the linesman, just before the ball crossed the line his head was to the right of the corner flag (our view). At the moment the ball was over the line the flag was right in front of his face. and by the time his head was to the left of the flag, the ball was bouncing on the floor and clearly not over the line... 🙂

Can't get on the site, so I don't remember the prices correctly.

Molde: Forren and Rindarøy(Bugge most likely GK, Linnes RB, Vatshaug CB)
Rosenborg: Örlund, Reginiussen, Strandberg(Injury prone) and Dorsin(Gamboa most likely RB)

      That's the Norwegian sides.

    Good evening fellow deadzoner's.

Like many I have something of a keeper crisis at the moment

    ...........de gea...........federici...............

    saylor...hangeland...cuellar...demel..baines

    0.0 in the bank.

Was thinking about Foster but slightly concerned considering West Brom have the second highest amount of shots conceded in the box and are 5th for big chances conceded.

Saying that West Brom have had a tough start in terms of fixtures and I think Im right in saying that Clarke was a defensive coach so I would expect things to tighten up?

    Any suggestions lads?

I'm not sold on McCarthy, so I'm not sure Federici is a lost cause. And De Gea is still No 1, but who knows with Fergie?

I've got De Gea and Jussi, and I'm sticking with them. For a couple of weeks anyway.

De Gea seems to have gone back to the place he was in last season, when he was reprieved by Lindegaard's injury. SAF should protect his investment better.

Yeh McCarthy was not impressive it has to be said. De Gea will surely play in the Champions League, and even though I have given up trying to second guess Fergie, Lindegaard could easily be back for the league.

I think Federici is ruled out of GW5 so determined to make a transfer in goals

I don't know anything about this guy but I may just have stumbled on a decent 4m midfielder for UCL.

Guillaume Gillet, 30 goals in 137 games for Anderlecht is pretty good for a 4m mid and he has an easy fixture at the San Siro tomorrow.

he is probably the safest option yes.
Serero from Ajax is one to watch as well he has 3 goals in 4 games, only missed 1 game so far because he got a red in his last game. So should be rested and ready

I discovered it looking for an Anderlecht player to put in for tomorrow. I was considering one of their strikers for the armband.

Instead, I have downgraded Yarmolenko to this Gillet guy and upgraded Mandy to RVP so I have a Messi, Zlatan, RVP strikeforce.
