Signed in the transfer window, both Steven Fletcher and Dimitar Berbatov have wasted little time in acclimatising at their new clubs, turning the heads of Fantasy managers.

Placed snugly in the mid-price bracket, they both look to offer strong solutions to the third striker slot in our squads with other places reserved for expensive heavy-hitters. In that scenario, many Fantasy managers have been forced to choose from these two players – both take form, decent fixtures and almost identical price tags into the coming months.

In this latest article for our Members, we look beyond the goals and points notched so far, exploring the numbers behind their performances in an attempt to offer a solution to this particular selection dilemma.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

I think McClean and Lambert. To be fair, I don't know all that much about Ramirez, but Fletcher's shots on target scream REGRESSION, Lambert has penalties and McClean absolutely murdered me last year.

If he draws a blank this week as well, I will strongly consider. Away against Stoke is tough, and I've already got Michu. Definitely getting Baines in next week though, so wondering whether or not to save the free transfer, or use it this week to get rid of Federici/Stevens/Fabio.

    Time to ship out RVP.

To some extent he is fixture proof, but I don't think anyone would consistently captain him over the next 6-7 games...

I suppose watching how he gets on in a tough game at Anfield is a good litmus test for that option... If he scores well there - you wouldn't bet against him doing it all over the country. If he doesn't - then maybe time to drop.

You know what, I was just mock wildcarding team without RVP.

I had a midfield of Yaya, Bale, Hazard, Ben Arfa and Santi Cazorla. My strikers were Berbs, Lambert and Fletcher.

      Food for thought.

      team looks decent to me.

graham has 3 home games in 4 coming up... give him a chance... unless you are desperate for berbs (for me, this is no no, 3 away trips in the next 5 and a home tie to Citeh).. but then again you have michu already so thats overkill. a move to lambert or berbs could be worthwhile just not sure its worth a hit.

mcclean isnt doing much. maybe u should do some reasearch on the chances he is getting using the heatmaps. nolan/fellaini/barfa all look much bigger threats for comparison

dont see a great deal wrong with the defence. clyne is not going to get any you points, but is good for the bench... an upgrade to STaylor or someone like that would give you mroe options

Nice write up but surely there was something missing from it? The strength of the opposition

Berba has played west ham sitting back already 3 up and a 10 man Brom team while Fletcher has played a so far rampant Swansea side and a battling pool side. Two sides that will dominate possession is most matches they'll play, starving the front man.

Out of the two it would be Fletcher for me but I have gone with Mr long on fixtures to produce the goods

I'm transferring Graham out next week and i'm currently leaning towards Fletcher. Fulham's horrible away form must come into consideration and Berbatov's low work rate when the chips are down won't help his cause in terms of making his own chances when the team aren't performing well. Sunderland can compete with any team in the league home or away and Fletcher is a great finisher.

Think it's between him and Long for a starting place if Clarke continues with the 4-2-3-1/4-2-1-3

Odemwingie and Fortune were wingers in that formation.

I'm not dude, that's why I'm asking. Need to move nasri on, have the money and other option was barfa or Morrison, Could also go cazorla but wanted to wait a couple of weeks before considering arsenal players.

Everyone in my ML has gone Berbatov it seems so its really made my decision for me in going with Fletcher.

I keep looking at Fletcher/Berbatov but that third striker slot is currently taken up with Podolski, who seems to have greater upside than both. £1.5m difference (less now, not sure what Berba's price is) wouldn't hep me improve my team elsewhere by *that* much either.

    Anyone in a similar boat?

Podolski owner here. Badly tempted with Berbatov (as soon as he signed) but so far faith in Podolski is paying off. You be scared of away games with Podolski either. Personally I am leaving it for a while (the while being: while Podolski is scoring, and while Berbatov doesn't have a string of tasty home games). Wouldn't be in the least bit tempted to swap Podolski for Fletcher though - personally.

BAE out; Baines or McAuley in?

Bringing in a WBA defender this week but pretty torn between the options.
I understand Mcauley is the most nailed on and highest goal threat, but is he worth that extra .2M?
How big is the rotation risk for Ridgewell and olsson over the next 3 GW's?

Olsson is pretty nailed on as he;'s the captain when Brunt doesn't start. Prefer McAuley's goal threat though. Would think Ridgewell is safe for quite a while still, Popov doesn't look like threatening anytime soon so i'd choose him over McAuley due to the price difference.

Could be very interesting this week. Play Aguero - I'm pretty sure he'll play, and you'll be ahead of the certain bandwagon. Also play Kagawa who was benched mid-week. Once you've done that re-consider transfers.
