Signed in the transfer window, both Steven Fletcher and Dimitar Berbatov have wasted little time in acclimatising at their new clubs, turning the heads of Fantasy managers.

Placed snugly in the mid-price bracket, they both look to offer strong solutions to the third striker slot in our squads with other places reserved for expensive heavy-hitters. In that scenario, many Fantasy managers have been forced to choose from these two players – both take form, decent fixtures and almost identical price tags into the coming months.

In this latest article for our Members, we look beyond the goals and points notched so far, exploring the numbers behind their performances in an attempt to offer a solution to this particular selection dilemma.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

I know what you mean, you don't really want to be wasting precious transfers on cheapo defenders if possible.

Depends who you're planning to bring in for the other players on your list, but in principle there's nothing wrong with leaving a 4.5 def as 3rd sub for a while. You'll lose a bit of value, though.

The most important transfers are the ones that are for players that are definitely problems. An injured player is a problem. If you don't deal with them you'll have 3 unavailable players before you know it. While some of the others may be disappointing at the moment they could produce as soon as you take them out. No chance of Cuellar producing.

            +1 to this too

A,D and E are barely problems right now.

Sort Cuellar and then Zaba the others can wait.

      No, Demba Ba is

The only reason Ben Arfa took the penalty against Tottenham is because he was fouled, grabbed the ball and refused to hand it over to him. Presuming Ben Arfa doesn't do that in the future, Ba will take them.

BBC tracker on the match tonight said

Spurs' new keeper Hugo Lloris has not had much to do so far but what little he has, he's done well. He is very clear and commanding as he comes out to claim a dangerous cross and his distribution has been first class. Brad Friedel will start at the weekend though.

the caps are just put there so it'd be easier to differentiate the changes.

A is the safe option but I feel I'll regret not doubling up on one...and Lescott...I hate having him in my team but Man city at home is too tempting, even if it's Arsenal.

I have no problem with doubling (my defence is Al-Habsi, Baines, Boyce and Demel) but I'd spread the risk as you can get Boyce with his attacking upside in as well.
Lescott is 'due' but that's a judgement call.

assured attacking position involved in most moves going forward, always in and around the danger areas.

Fellaini will play plenty as a holding midfielder this season and he's fairly reliant on goals from set pieces and not a lot else

Disagree, he's been soo effective that i think this will be his position this season, last game showed that with the usually attacking Osman playing deeper. If that goal stood, he'd have 3 goals in 4 games. He scored 8 goals in 08/09, i expect him to surpass that this season.

Still having major concerns with my 3-5-2 formation. What are people's thoughts, stick over downgrade a midfielder (which one?). I'm currently thinking carzola > Morrison & pog > ba. Help!

    Jaask, begs,
Baines, s. Taylor, jenkinson, demel, clyne
    Hazard, carzola, Michu, Peinaar, HBA,
    Rvp, tevez, pog.

Your team is fine stick with it for now. Save transfers in case you need to reassess Tevez and RVP when rooney and aguero come back

I think it is very good. The only players I would really want to get out would be Federici and possibly McCartney. Not sure I like the Cheapo-Cheapo-combo over time (says the guy who had no keeper for two weeks now).

Have you WC'ed? If not, very nice.

Who to transfer out this week?

Frideal for Howard (Have no back up keeper)
    Petric for Long
    Cruller or McCarthy for anyone?

My defence has Vllar, A.Cole and Clyde as it is and I also have Ireland in midfield

Guys, would I be stupid to get in Lambert instead of Berbs/Fletch?

The appealing this is that I feel I can play Lambert all three of the next fixtures, before I (probably) wildcard.

This would be for a hit btw.
